- Good morning, all! Today we'll be talking about the evolution of Lego horses and what the situation is if you wish to add some to your MOCs or just your general collection. Lego horses don't have the long and storied past that other types of pieces do, but there's a lot to learn here, so I hope you enjoy! One interesting fact about the brick built horses, their ears are now an illegal build which places stress on the bricks...

horses are a must have for every medival army since they are so expensive i decided to use ali express ones and tbh the quality is quite good
Great to see the history and development of horses! You didn't include the friends horses or the old and new foal moulds
Also just to add to your list there is a collectable minifigure with a foal. The only foal I have seen yet.
I still have both my kings carriage horses. They’re great, but it’s a little annoying if u need to use them for a moc because of the printing. So for now they are Lion knight exclusives
I have a lot of the 80s/90s horses including 2 with bardings that came with the Black Monarch’s castle. Even though they have dragon emblems their colors match the Black Falcons and Crusaders well.
Good video. I personally like the printed bardings and hope to see more factions getting their prints on, weather it be the Black falcons or Gondor. Hope we get more colors on horses in the future.

I'm totally with you regarding the barding.
That is why I ordered a pack of 20 bardings in China which are only looking like pearl light grey.
Bardings which are only out of one colour with some non-specific prints would be so great.
Bright yellow with a Black chess printing for the Raven Knight for example.
Or dark Green with some golden flowers or thin golden "stripes".
But I think that this will only be a dream.
Probably... But hold out hope for a Riders of Rohan display model having grey or brown barding! Snowmane is notably equipped with some sort of barding in the Ride of the Rohirrim, so hopefully Lego portrays that accurately.

Great detail, would be nice if you included details about the changing of the molding of their heads and head armor as well. I recently bought the blacksmith set that came with a horse drawn wagon and I also bought the Viking chess set for the minifigs but the horse head armor from the chess set dosent fit my newer molded horse

Oh, that would be really cool! I'd be super excited to see if MOC-builders would use that for Castle factions.
just got a new horse. am i crazy or is its gap for the minifig shorter than in the old horses?
