Means a lot, thank you! 🤙 💯More videos coming in the near future!
Nice work!
Thanks man!
I may be doing this soon. I'm gonna get that spray gun that attaches to the can. nice job
That would work better! And thank you!!!
Literally putting the exact same spoiler on the exact same car doing the exact same job lol. I gotta special order paint so it matches my OEM color. Not looking forward to the job but really can't wait for the result! Nice stang bro
That’s awesome man! I hope this video helped you in some way! Since I live in Vegas, the heat burnt the clear off, so I instead, had it wrapped black to not deal with the headache anymore lol.
@@LoganScott. haha me it's the opposite of problems...I'm hoping mine won't crack in Quebec cold
@@MTLbigJ True! Make sure to add primer and plenty of coats! Not sure how to prevent cracking tbh. Wish I was a bigger help lol
@@LoganScott. it's all good bro. This video was already a help...it's good to talk to fellow mustang people...especially other v6s
Logan loved your video.
Getting ready to repaint a spoiler myself on a Coyote. Really liked liked the explanation in text before the demonstration.
Question: If I wanted to use clear coat would I sand the peel off after the gloss black application, then apply clear coat and do the final wet sand (then continue into buffing)? I am looking to avoid fading as I live in a sunny area. I can easily pay for a shop, but I am DIY guy.
Glad you liked it and I am the same way! You want to make sure that you sand your area as smooth as you can get it to avoid grooves appearing during the painting process. Once you get it how you like it, apply primer, let it dry then apply multiple layers of paint. After the paint dries, apply multiple layers of clear coat. Finally you want to buff and polish. Depending on how bad the orange peel is, you want to wet sand it. Lower the number, the stronger the grit, the higher the number, the lighter the grit. Usually you want to go from a stronger grit and slowly to a lighter grit to get that mirror finish with the buff and polish. At the end of the day, I ended up getting it wrapped because I live in a sunny area and kept burning the clear coat.
@@LoganScott. Thanks a ton!

Nice! Is that a MP Concepts GT500 spoiler? Want to make sure if that is the right one so I can get that style on my 2014 Race Red California Special I have recently purchased a month or two ago.

Here you go brotha!
Would you also need to sand down interior trim if you're painting that?
Cas If you plan on painting an interior piece of your car, I would recommend sanding it down with a fine grit so you don’t dig into the plastic. When you sand it down, it gives the paint something to stick to while if it looks shiny for example, there is a possibility it won’t stick or won’t look as good as you would like. Hope that helps! 👍. If you would like to Plasti dip your interior, I have a detailed video on my channel on it
Hey bro did you already prime your spoiler or did you just go straight to sanding and after that start painting?
I don’t remember the video 😂 but you should sand it then prime it. Sorry for the late late reply
I have watched many videos on this very subject and found this was the most informative and helpful to the unprofessional guys like me
Glad to hear that! Main goal is to help people like you make things into reality! 🙌🏼 I have more videos coming out soon!
Great finish.. No laquer.. Interesting
I ended up spray painting it months later because I kept resting my arm too much on it causing it to rub off
When you bought the spoiler did it feel hollow?
Yes, but it's somewhat heavy. Feels sturdy in my opinion.
What's the purpose of adding clear coat to the spoiler??
Extra layer of protection to the paint so it doesn’t scratch or fade as easy from outside elements
@@LoganScott. Thank you, now I know 👍
No problem man
What products did you use? It's hard to read them??
Sorry! I mainly used fine grit sandpaper, rubbing alcohol, primer, paint, clear coat, wet sanding paper, buffing compound and wax to finish it off.
@@LoganScott. Ok thanks man!! & when I used the clear coat it did really bad orange peel so I'm starting over.. do you think I could go without using it? 🤔
@@zerosnaps8005 You can, but your paint won’t be protected and will more likely to show imperfections if a rock hits it, the sun baking it, etc. Preferably, you should use it imo but you can go without it, though you run the risk.
@@LoganScott. hmm ok man thanks for all the help!!
@@LoganScott. for the wing what grit did you use for the sponge?
Clutch
Bro I don’t think that spoiler fits your car
I haven’t had any issues?
1-2 weeks to dry wtf 😂😂😂
Not gonna rush it
I was wondering the same thing😂
Coyote?
I wish lol. Base model rental car
Logan Scott nothing to worry about lol any mustang is a mustang haha the cyclone is a beast and the ecoboost is a beast. Your still beating most of the road with one
Looks clean!
Thank you my guy! 🤙 Maybe one day I’ll own a Coyote!
