- Thank you all so much for all of the amazing recommendations and questions for the Wednesday episodes. Please keep them coming and I will be answering them in shorts as well. This was a lot of fun, and I was surprised to learn about your curiosities. Thank you so much for enjoying the show, and for taking an interest in my life and the pursuits I am following.
Much love.

You lucky dude, that bug bite resistance is a super power.
i cant help but feel like it has something to do with toxicity levels in his blood. so as to say, he is more alkaline than acidic which acts as a base to any bite. im curious though.
Quit AVOIDING talking about MICK! He’s a huge part of the channel!!
I do hope you forgive us the questions about you. As the man behind the camera, who shows us breathtaking views, who shares incredibly interesting interviews and history, of course we're curious about you, too! In all honesty, I've enjoyed the heck out of each and every video you've posted, so I think you could post anything, and we'll watch! Add your directness and your brand of humour to any video, and it's a joy to watch!
Thank you very much 😊
Dustin, where did you meet Emi ?
For next QnA.
How is Emie doing living this lifestyle and is she a new permanent member?
Maybe having Emie answer that question or interview her on her thoughts on the adventures.
These are the questions I was most interested in. Interesting that Dustin just passed by all those questions...
Thanks for the insight into the goings on. I would love to see a wrap up video talking to Emi about her impressions of the trip, the most exciting for her, what she was amazed by . Basically the good and bad through her eyes of totally new adventures compared to her "regular" life: . I am sure she would have some great thoughts on the whole trip. Travel safe both of you and have fun.
This is coming as well :)
And how long she will be staying its fun to see her and you together
We also can't wait to hear what Emi thinks about this amazing adventure that you are sharing with her.
Great show Dustin and Emmie. I'm glad somebody asked about the music. The soundtracks to your films are always first class.
Great questions, great answers! Thanks Dustin for taking time to chat with us and opening up a bit more of your world. My wife and I are really thankful that you are on the path you have chosen, as your channel has been able to bring us to places we never would have been able to see in person, and introduced us to you. You have a special gift, you have an eye for the camera, a unique way of production, and a positive outlook on life. Keep on heading forward and doing what calls you!
I agree...you are truly doing what you were meant to do. Keep going.
I've always been impressed with your videos. The presentation, editing, and highly professional quality of them is second to none. Greetings from Cochrane, AB.
Thank you Dustin for choosing this you tube thing! Wow you are pretty modest for a guy that is actually among the best I’ve ever seen here and killing it by yourself! I’m just flabbergasted that you don’t have a million subscribers by now!
It will come.
I appreciate that, thank you.
Amazing music choices. I was thinking of doing a destination adventures play list.
I would much prefer natural sounds instead of what I consider intrusive music on natural beauty...to me it takes away from video as it is invasive
strange my first reply disappeared...I did say I still enjoy 95% of each video...
Not a question. But, I much prefer seeing our beautiful Canadian landscapes as opposed to anywhere else. LOVE the content!!!!!!!!!
What I love most is when you talk to the locals. Now you have a lady with you. It would be nice to see and hear more of here also.
You and Emmy seem like a really good fit! Is this a serious relationship? I sure hope so! Good luck to you!
Answering 'how do you deal with bugs?' while one is crawling on your head is too funny... probably planned that hey? little glob of honey 🤣
-except horseflies want a little glob of YOU :)
I appreciate and enjoy your taste in music. It adds so much emotion to your filming
Thank Dustin our family loves going with you any where that you pick.
We enjoy your Wednesday episodes as well, of course, as your Saturday videos. They’re very entertaining, and being BC’ers, we love them all! We’ve travelled north through Yukon, and so many beautiful stops along the way - Stewart was a wet, but beautiful, stop on our way home. On another trip we drove up to Prince Rupert then spent 5 days on Haida Gwaii. We look forward to this adventure as you travel north!
Fantastic Q&A session Dustin! I swear if you did audio books they would sell millions, such a fabulous person to listen to and hands down the nicest person (alongside Timmy on Truck House) on CZcams! Much love from the UK ❤
I love your channel and I don’t think I’ve missed any videos. I don’t know the story of how Emmy came to be traveling with you. Did I miss that somewhere along the way? I think you mentioned maybe that you guys work together on a cruise ship at some point, but how did that all come to be and how long can she travel with you? I can’t be the only one who missed that story…
BTW I grew up living in Dodge Cove, off of Prince Rupert, and have explored some other places you have visited such as Haida Gwaii and places around waters of Prince Rupert. We moved to Van Isle and explored the coast in summers on a sailboat there too. Keep up the great work!
I will try to cover this more in depth.
The comment you made that encapsulates you, and your videos, is about, and I paraphrase - ' it is about your artistry'... and again, for me, I best appreciate the subtle, unannounced inclusions, like a shot of your rig passing a weed filled ditch, with the tall weeds waving in-between the camera placed in the ditch, and the moving truck, or the snake on the road, or a flower amidst a concrete dessert, and to summarize those moments, they work because they were not mentioned...and then of course, there is your dry humour. "I am Master of all that I survey..." Thoreau. Keep surveying Ol' Son.
I would love a Spotify playlist or something like that of the music you use. It's all sooo good!
Things Id find interesting:
1. Scary moments adventuring (IE: when you came across the deceased bear in the bus)
2. Any story where you feel you made some mistakes in the wilderness and learned.
3. Most difficult hikes you've been on.
4. Most enjoyable hikes you've been on in certain geographic sections/areas?
5. The most "miserable" you have been while adventuring. To me... 50% of nature activities involves being kind of miserable (cold/hot/hungry/tired/thirsty) but in the coolest places. :)
Your doing what you were meant to do, enjoy your adventure!
This is great info. Thanks for sharing. Also, l’m glad you’re no longer alone, it’s safer for you both this way and great to have someone you care about to share your adventures with….so it’s a double Win. Best of Luck 💯👍
Great stuff, Dustin. Nice content shake-up mid-week. Always look forward to the weekend.
For your bumper fund
Thanks so much for the support. 😊
What a different video, enjoyed it, hope you do more, safe travels.
Thanks for answering so many questions I had. More on the music would be a fave with me. Your brutal honesty is appreciated. Cheers from the Flatlands of Alberta. Monty
Dustin no questions, like to take this opportunity as someone brought up the music tracks. Love the music with the scenery just perfect. I have added a few to my library👍
Love this channel. Probably due to you being one person who least needs to meditate . Probably one of the most sane ,well balanced people on You Tube today. I find humor and staying positive helps me cope and I just hate been gloomy and sad. I sense you may be similar. I believe the sense of accomplishment : IE success in this new business helps fuel that. Plus you're the right guy for this job. I can appreciate the music you choose for the videos. I find myself looking certain songs up after the ending credits. Keep up the great work Dustin !
Thank you very much.
What got me hooked on your videos initially was Walden North. And I didn't think it could get any better for me, who loves to explore abandoned places and B.C. History. But it did, And it keeps on getting better. I never miss a video, and I go back and re-watch some of my favourites, still hoping to see a few of them in person. You are living a dream. And I don't doubt, as all good things are, it's not all easy, but boy, is it worth it. Thank you from Little Fort, for allowing me to live vicariously through you.
Thank you very much.
Hey Dustin, in case ur interested, I have the same truck as u, (except mines a 3/4 ton), and my fuel tank is 32 gallons.
Pretty sure urs is also.
Keep'r going, Dustin.
Great vids.
Greetings from Cape Town, South Africa 🇿🇦
Really enjoy your videos. Keep it up!
Thanks so much, and cheers from Canada. 🇨🇦 🍻 🇿🇦
I bet all of us who had our questions featured were super excited about it because I am AMPED.
Super excited for the future video learning more about you/your background!
Thanks for answering some of our questions!
I hope you do this for a long long time ❤You are such a breath of fresh air in a messed up world. ❤Love watching you.
Great answering some questions. Thanks for that.
Mic was mentioned a few times but you skipped over that topic. He seems to be popular.
Love watching you tell a story. Great job.
I can’t speak on his behalf;) hahaha
13:46 Horsefly? Do you see any horses. They are Mooooose flies and Deeear flies, they try to eat you while you're still alive. Yah, everything gotta eat. Love your adventures, been there my whole life, an Aspie who is infatuated with geology, earth sciences and anything else that holds my attention. And a Buddhist.
Ok… we want a background on Emmy. Where did you meet, where exactly is she from, what did she leave behind, what is the exact relationship status between you two, is she in Canada on a visitor visa or going thru the motions of moving here…. Haha so many questions relating to this new “ partnership”
I want to first thank you for your travels and seeing the beautiful areas you visit. Have you even played the what if game on your travels?
Nice work with the vid D! I'm sure I speak for many here when I say that we appreciate you, because you appreciate us❤
15:02 meditation? Like I tell everyone… if you need a vacation from living in BC you should move to Alberta and summer out here
Your show is amazing and hopefully one day a situation comes about that allows you too extend your show into the United States. The places and beauty to be seen is abundant and someone like yourself can bring that to homes everywhere on top of all your Canadian adventures. In due time it will happen cause what your doing is clearly done with passion and passion wins.
We have had good luck with the Thermacell products for keeping the bugs away. They make a personal one that clips onto one's clothing.
Bugs suck. Your friend will develop a tolerance over time. Her immune system will adjust. I use a head net in the bush, with a wide brim boonie hat. Long sleeve shirt, with the collar up. If you have an old hat, draw eyes on the back of it. I know people who have had eyes embroidered on the back of a cap. Mosquitoes bite the back of your neck for that reason. You can't see them attack.
Keep up the good work :)
Love these q&a vids! My question is “where would you like to see yourself in the list of Great Canadian Explorers/Adventurists?”
I think you should have a winch in that front bumper also. And to be honest you can't beat the harbor freight winch. It outwinches my dad's Warren everyday all day
And Hope for Great Weather .
Dustin, thank you for the Q & A! Love your videos and all you do behind the scenes to make it great! You both stay safe and looking forward to your next video!
Thank you! Love hearing about you and your lifestyle. I look forward to all the planned adventures. Take care
thanks for some longer videos me and the gf like to relax and watch your shows so the longer ones make for epic cuddles
Maxwell Creek Ranch . No Roads . A Landing Strip shared by 2 properties . Made it there in a 94 Cutless Ciera .
The music choices are always very good.
Dusty the quality of footage and editing is pretty epic. You do you brother!
I think that you definitely are going in the right direction with the channel and totally agree with what you said about it not being the "Dustin Porter" channel but about the adventures and scenery. It's lovely that you have found someone and that you have great ties with your family and it would be great to have updates...maybe in the shorts? But the channel was thriving on the scenery of your travels to the destination...the destination itself and the interviews. Maybe I am wrong but I watch and I am sure other people watch because they'll never get to see or do these adventures. Keep up the good work and God Bless you in your travels. This from a lady old enough to be your momma.... hahaha
Dustin so glad you sold. RV I knew you would it was a very good price well done 👍👍🇦🇺
28:10 Ive seen other channels saying just having a new view regularily and a perspective means more.. and i agree needing to see a new subject every so long! your music choices and visuals are captivating and your story telling! my favorites are always a story wound in historical views such as the train tracks falling into the sea! Or even the water level change on the fraser up north!! Your an advocate to show these changes.
Hey thanks for answering everyone questions! It was great to get some insight on how you make this all work! Cheers. 👍🏻👊🏻
34:21 Tats my story and I'm sticking to it!
What no questions about your beard? It is a great beard - how do you maintain it so well? Love your adventures, thank you for sharing this great province of ours.
Michael from Langley
This really Helps Dustin . I remember when my Wife and I met you in Courtenay . So funny . Watched a Vid the night before and here you are there . Love Your Channell Bro . Keep Going ...
love watching your adventures you go on and taking us along for the ride
Great video as always. I think these type of videos here and there are a good idea. Viewers and fans like the involvement. The shorts idea is a great idea. I am sad to say watching your videos on my IPad I for reason didn’t realize you had a patreon so now I will be joining it.
Great people, masterful work, superior content. Lets see Canada! can't wait....
Thanks for the insights Dustin.
Hi, Great show! More Emmy and Dustin together! You 2 are Awesome together! Stay safe, have Fun!
Been watching since day 1 . Thanks for all the hard work developing your channel. In depth , quality content and interviews are top shelf , your comedy is hilarious.
Cheers 🍻 from Maple Ridge B.C
Thank you for the long time support. 😊 🍻
I would love to see Oak Island on this show, and all the story down there the other side of this huge and beautiful country. Maybe by the time you get there luckily I'll be already there to welcome you as a Nova Scotian.
great stuff thanks
Great idea for show! Thank you 👍👍
Also the story about the owl in the freezer 😂😂😂😂
Every time I find a song that I love that works perfect in a video- it turns out to be a super love song and one line of lyrics just drops the ball at the worst moment lmao. Your music choices are always on point.
I also hope you can continue this for a while haha
I also didn't know that about you filming in the US. That's sad but a good fact I'd say. There's so much I want to see in the states
I will easily get thrown off my direction by a second creek. 😂
Continue to be who you are, you are doing outstanding with your content, I truly wish I could tag along,, stay in Canada or the United States, most of us are interested in that and there's more dangers in Mexico, we don't need you put AT risk
My Favorite part of your channel is the 12 valve… don’t sell that truck ever!
Great workshop, wed. Great info, great insight!
Ah...I hadn't noticed the talons, but when you were talking about it I had memories of a children's book by Tommy DePaulo titled "Tom". If you ever run across a copy you'll get a real kick out of the chicken feet debacle... Be well.
Thanks Dustin. Really enjoyed the q&a
Ohhhhh Hey there Dustin!
I'm a bit behind but I am here now. Always Always think u are the best.
This was great. Sending to hubby. He's on his way home from Texas and I bombarded him with your videos lolol😂...to remind him how wr want to head your way lol.
Thanks for being a invaluable teacher of travel.
Much love
Julia and Bill
❤
Loving this… you are answering questions that I have never thought of but really like knowing the answers!
18:53 lol when i'm not towing my car trailer, i feel like I can turn on a dime with just my truck and camper its so nice
Your the best dustin!!! Cant wait to follow along with your adventures!😊
Really appreciate your channel and the beauty of our province you share with us all. Definitely my favourite channel to watch on here. Was also great meeting you last year. You’re a great guy to talk too. Keep up all your great work. Take care.
30:33 Most 12v cummings from 94 to 98 came with a 35 gallon (132 Liter) fuel tank. 20 mpg = 12L/100 (about the same mileage as my 2004 Subaru Impreza gets with the 5 spd manual trans, and a 65L gas tank)
Hi dustin. Did I mention that I have a bunch of Ray Troll t-shirts as well. Some from the 1990's and some current. "The perils of nude fly fishing" is my fav. They don't fit anymore but I have them ha ha ha. KEN W Lake.
Emi I work construction. We did a job by a river bug's where bad .
I found moth balls rolled up in bandana kept bug's away, but people too they said I smelled like a old person.
Good luck I enjoy the show thanks
🫎 Hey buddy' now i got the hardest question of all is " What is your favorite Beer èh" 🍺 😀
🍁 🇨🇦 Some places I'd really like to see and get some info from only you could do is coverage of the old Hudson Bay trapping company up in the northeast ? Its always amazed me from historic readings and pictures, but nobody covers anything about it that i can find! Its gotta be a treasure trove of old buildings and equipment and history i know only you would cover and enjoy like i would . Thanks for all the cool stuff 😎 🌲
Great responses to the questions and very interesting love your videos, thanks for sharing and stay safe
That was great. I've really enjoyed watching your videos. It's time to start sending you some $. I'm on it.
So cool, thanks
Awesome, thanks again !
Love the show! Been watching for the last couple years. Keep up the great content. Aloha from Hawaii!
Love this and the questions you were asked. I wouldn't mind a part 2, and 3.
I very much enjoy the music you work into your vids and a big part of why enjoy your production, your choices to me always fit the cinematography. Thanks for your efforts😊
great episode. love the story about the talons.
This was a fun change, D - great to hear the answers to all these questions. Looking forward to your next vid!
20:10 First real job, Ontario Dept. Of Mines, junior party member doing recon geological mapping, first traverse, started out with a compass and didn't use it the rest of the way, came out to the canoe within sight of it. Intuition is a powerful tool!
Been watching you for about a year and really enjoy your videos every Saturday morning. I grew up just a few miles down the road from you at the 140 and I’m surprised you never did an adventure out to Squawk lake. Might be a good story out that way if you ever get the time. Cheers!
Nice, love this new extra topic Q&A
Hi Dustin. Just finished watching the video. Good information. Thanks, KEN
When you get to the Arctic Ocean, think about this. The water from Dease Lake eventually exits the MacKenzie River at the Arctic Ocean. So when you were fishing the Dease River last year, for example, you were riding around on water that was on its way to your present destination.
