Love T6s great old war bird/ trainer. Been to so many airshows and never seen a smoke trail that dang thick! He must be running the biggest oil injector available

Such a nice show, I never thought a T-6 was that agile, lots of them here in Florida where I live,all I've seen are bright yellow and most often seen flying in formation, nothing quite like the sound of a round engine !!

A girl who graduated from the high school near me went to the coast guard academy, was doing aviation training, and ended up crashing in a T-6 a few days ago in alabama.
Those were T-6B. Which are fairly different.
My Condolences to the Ross and Garrett families.
I am glad nobody was in the homes that were hit and set on fire.

@@Jonathan_Camps the modern trainers are T-6B. The confusion is understandable, I made the same mistake when I fist saw the article too. There are a group of warbirds that fly out if Destin, I thought it was one if them.
i feel like this is far louder than any other t6, why does this thing sound so harsh during every flyby?
The t6 my dad flies sounds about the same. His is a harvard which has minor differences but some have a relocated exhaust for cold weather flying or snow or something which may make tge sound difference. Also this guy may have a different type of propeller firnwhat he is doing but im not really sure.

Love to watch the aero shell team. There are no finer pilots. Wish we could get back to air shows and end the stupid covid suppressions of our freedom.

How is the smoke made, does anyone know? Looks like something inejected into the engine and then vented out on the right side?
They spray smoke oil into the exhaust. If you look closely on some aircraft like the Thunderbird F-16s you can see the tubing and spray nozzle fitted to the outside of the aircraft www.f-16.net/g3/f-16-photos/album38/album71/album47/abs

As loud as a Super Stearman doing the same thing, quite nothing like a radial engine
IMO the T-6 is louder as to me it’s almost as loud as a CF-18. A super stearman is still loud tho

It's very loud
Fr I saw one take off back in September and it rattled everything in my body and the ground and made me cover my ears. To me it’s legit on par with a legacy hornet with the noise level. Ppl said it’s as loud as a super steerman but I gotta disagree. I have seen tons of super steermans and they’re all noisy, but nothing like the T-6
