@@TheKcdick They didn't score. They were celebrating an interception as if it had sealed the win. I don't mind then as the opponent celebrating like that but if it were my team I'd treat it like Patrick Mahomes stalking the sidelines after the score that put the Chiefs up four good.
      "We ain't done! We're ain't done!"
Enough respect for the other team to keep his head in the game until the clock read 0.

It’s like they hadn’t seen the previous two games the Chiefs won. Don’t celebrate too soon against a team that can score multiple touchdowns in a matter of a few minutes.

What an amazing time to be alive. For the longest time as a Chiefs fan I've felt hopeless when it came to having a great QB. It's a crap-shoot to get even a good QB, through the draft or free agency. So when Mahomes came here I didn't let myself get excited. When he played the final game in Denver, I jumped out of my seat in excitement, but didn't let myself dream. After throwing 13 TD's in 3 weeks, I tempered myself. Amazing play after amazing play I told myself not to get too hopeful, lots of players flash but few actually burn bright.
It became clear that Mahomes is not only a great QB, he has the potential to be the best QB ever. I'm finally dreaming. I keep thinking about the times when I had to root for the Chiefs with Cassel at the helm. We are so lucky to have this guy and I am so grateful.
But we also have a great team. Mahomes is an absolute gem but we also have a truly great team right now from the coach down to the bench. We are so lucky right now as KC fans. And we should be thankful that this is our time, even if it's not going to last forever, that we have the chance to have a once in a generation talent leading our team.
I'm just trying to live in the moment, in the off season, with a global pandemic going on, trying to recognize how lucky we are to have this guy on our team. GO CHIEFS!!!

    Told like literature.
Much like the bow and arrow in The Odyssey; Chris Jones deflecting Jimmy Garropolo's throws becomes an important factor in the end regarding the bats in the preseason where it didn't matter.
Like the 2015 Royals, this team had one mission: Unfinished Business. After not getting the ball in OT in the prior AFC Championship Game, this team made sure they got the last laugh.

Like Chris Jones kept saying, they gonna make a movie about this! I sure hope they do. I know Tom Brady has the most SB titles, the biggest SB comeback, the perfect underdog to superstar story, but he doesn't have 3 consecutive double digit deficit playoff comebacks, he doesn't have Andy Reid, the Coach that owns America's ❤️, and he'll never be the man, the myth, the legend that is and forever will be Patrick Levon Mahomes II. Patrick may never get to as many SBs as Brady has already won, but Patrick carried this team when the numbers were down, time and time again. Brady did it once. Patrick did it 3 times in a row. Not even Brady could accomplish that. Brady demands greatness of himself and his teammates. Patrick believes in his teammates and they believe in him, he makes them great, and in turn they make him the greatest that's ever played this game. He carried this team when they needed it most, and likewise when he needed to be carried, they carried him. He makes this team great not because he is great, but because he believes in their greatness as a team. In New England everybody is replaceable, even Brady. In Kansas City every single person matters. Every last player, coach, front office member and Chiefs fan earned this victory. Yes even the fans did their part. We came to every game in droves, we believed in them to the bitter end. We put life into Arrowhead and gave our players the support they needed and deserved. We waited 50 years for this. We never gave up, never stopped loving our boys. Even when we were 4-12 or 2-14, we refused to let our dream die. Congratulations Kansas City!! It finally happened.. We're Super Bowl 54 Champions!!!

"Do we have time to run Wasp" will live in KC CHIEFS! lore and haunt 49ers fans as 65toss power trap lives as monumental segment of Super Bowl IV KC glory for Kansas City CHIEFS! fans and haunts Minnesota ViQueen fans. Some have either reveled over it, as I have for 50 years, or it's been a reminder of the first of four Super Bowl failures by their Vikes and a bitter and thorough ass kicking from our CHIEFS! It's hell getting older but I actually feel great about having been a fan of the Dallas Texans through my Dad and cousins knowing someone who worked for the team in Dallas-Fort Worth and having even more relatives and connections in Kansas City. I saw the Texans in the Cotton Bowl, the CHIEFS! In Municipal Stadium and Arrowhead. SO WASP AND MAHOMES WILL LIVE LIKE 65TOSS POWER TRAP AND STRAM HAS LIVED. I GET A WARM FEELING OF KC CHIEFS! PRIDE EVERY TIME I HEAR AND WATCH BOTH NOW.
THE 2007 JAYHAWKS, THE 2014 BUT ESPECIALLY THE 2015 ROYALS AND THE 2019-'20 CHIEFS! WERE VERY SPECIAL TEAMS IF YOU THINK ABOUT THE VERY SPECIAL MANNER IN WHICH EACH TEAM WON. ESPECIALLY THOSE THREE THAT WON CHAMPIONSHIPS.

I'd never heard of him 'til the Chiefs moved up to #10 to steal him. I didn't like his pitcher's stance in the pocket, but he always seemed to know where and when the pressure was coming and was good at eluding pressure. But I was overjoyed. Even at the "flaws" that pundits saw in his game, putting passes up for grabs. But you look at his TD:INT numbers and they're very good! He was just making a higher-level calculation based on his knowledge of HIS guys and THEIR guys.
When the QB breaks contain, you're supposed to be excited about something big, downfield. Mahomes brought that back to KC. I'd be curious to see what Mahomes could do with SIZE as opposed to speed. So far, the trees haven't made the cut, and they've gone out of their way to get speed, at some cost in size. I'm just not sure Mahomes couldn't dissect defenses with perfectly-placed passes to big-body targets.
KC DID have some 6 1/2-footers in training camp. Mahomes is just such a good passer, I think he could put the ball on the side away from the defender where a soft-handed big body could go get it, and it just couldn't be stopped. And I get it. With that arm, and speed in the pattern at all times, you can DO things. But as a KC fan, I can remember when the Chargers had Vincent Jackson and KC had Brandon Flowers covering him. Pitch and catch, and nothing 5'10'' Flowers could do against 6'3'' Jackson. Wherever Flowers was, Rivers would just throw it to Jackson's other side. Nothing Flowers could do about it. So all I hear is that it was a terrible first three quarters, yet KC was winning 10 - 3 with 8 minutes left in the 2Q. Sometimes the narratives about KC are just wrong. Let's all say it. BAD 3rd Qtr. period. That's it. Patrick played well in the first half while being under all that pressure.

I want a 3rd. I want the heartland to dominate the NFL for a while. We'll see. Veach and Reid did a great job getting them to the top. KEEPing them at the top might be a different matter. They CAN make Mahomes an offer. What he demands is going to dictate a lot. Okafor's worth keeping for $7 million. But not if Mahomes and Jones fight for every nickel.

And he wasn’t mouthing off to Mahomes he was mouthing off to Eric Fisher

    • @harrymills2770
      @harrymills2770 Před 4 lety

That WASP play was sure somethin'. It LOOKS like Fisher's set too deep, and Bosa was primed to take advantage with the inside move, but that inside move is Fisher's specialty, because he's got recovery speed to catch up and push the DE down the line rather than letting him turn it upfield for the pressure/sack. And there's a very strong tendency for Reid to go to his X receiver at about 15 yards in these 3rd-and-10-plus situations. So the deep-3rd corner bit on Watkins' in-cut at the sticks.
I think Mahomes processes the field in really rapid blinks, and he's really good at it. But he'd never faced the quickness of Nick Bosa from that DE spot, before. Mahomes was surprised the first few times, that Bosa had somehow gotten to where Mahomes knew nobody could get to. There were a couple of those and then a couple where Mahomes over-compensated. But I think they had a pretty good idea of what worked and what didn't, by the 4th quarter. I just feel like Reid could've given Mahomes better protection and won the game, with relative ease, winning all the 1-on-1s, outside and in the slot, and keeping extra blockers in for pass protection. Give our OTs the luxury of blocking inside-out, rather than stranding them on an island against the best edge rushers in the league. Mahomes will put that time to good use, with Sammy and Tyreek in the pattern, and Travis Kelce as a 3rd option.
