One great thing, for me, about having these talks recorded, is that I get to correct my misstatements. It's hard to think and talk at the same time...
    * Ramon Villaverde raised large angels (not Centropyge) in a 6 liter pretzel jar, not a 6 gallon pretzel jar.
    * I recommended using polypropylene mesh for making filters, and I should have said polyester.
    * I said salinity should be around 30 parts per million, should have been 30 parts per thousand.
    * Clearly it is impossible to speak and do math at the same time...I'm not sure if the copepod nauplii numbers I was spouting are correct, but I'm sure you get the jist of it.
Once again I offer my thanks to MASNA for the invitation to speak, and I will once again encourage YOU to be the first kid on YOUR block to raise a marine ornamental that hasn't been raised before. Opportunity awaits you, and there has never been a better time.

Awesome presentation, Kathy - thanks so much! Having a hard time finding those micron mesh sheets for the filter cups you made on Amazon. Would you happen to have a link??

Exactly, this is the best talk so far because those are the practice I can start doing tomorrow. The talk from science labs are great, but those are more of fantasies to me that I can only appreciate from a distance.

@@kathyleahy7314 I've been out of the hobby for quite a while, but I plan on getting back into it when I move back Stateside. Till then I'll have to live vicariously through the many reef keepers that share their tanks and projects with the world through videos like these.

That's the most important part. The fish do the rest. Getting it from egg to larvae to fry to juvenile to adult safely is the true challenge.

@@Steven-fz8rt Getting these fish to breed in captivity is fairly common with talented aquarists. The eggs I used came from a talented friend's home aquarium. I did not breed these fish, but I did raise them. Previous to me, no one had gotten eggs of this species to metamorphosis.

Kathy, this is a great presentation. Would you be willing to share your email address so that I could correspond with you directly? I did some marine fish propagation in my work as a public aquarist, but am now retired and want to try to get back into it. I have some questions that came up during your presentation. Thanks.
