MAPerformance I’m picking up 15 wrx an am seeing what kind of deal I can get on full stage 2 kit
What do I need if I get a stock wrx. What should I get to get around 300+
glaivin orc if you want to get to 300whp go e30 tune! Requires no bolt ons. I have 305whp and 310 wtq from e30 tune by Ambottuning.
2020?
mchl yes I have a 2020 WRX.
It's great that these tuners(and other enthusiasts) put out semi-pro shot videos like this. Gotta love living in the future.
Sounds amazing. Good numbers. My wife would kill me. I'm putting the iPad down now.
it's not expensive ...
Same man! It’s not the money it’s the sound and power.
just a quick shout out to MAperformance. I ordered the Diablo Sport i2 for my SRT-4 on Sunday and it was on my doorstep Tuesday! even with choosing free shipping.
Thanks Michael!!
I'm in love with this guy.
I love that sound 😍
Nice development on the car! Sounds very nice! That torque is really impressive now!
And I just saw that was 91 octane! I'd be really interested in some 93 and e85 numbers. Great work!
+mdog33333 93 should be coming soon!
After the longest wait in history, I've finally ordered the Stage 2 package, the Charge Pipe and Intercooler, Mishimoto oil cooler and the Mishimoto oil catch can. I'm also about to order the Perrin Recirculating BOV. I'm so excited to put it on!
Glad to hear it! Let us know how you like it once its on.
Follow up: 6+ months of ownership and ~8K miles later, runs and sounds great! Took her to the Tail of the Dragon in August and was super fun. Going to have to get better brakes next year
Great video Ian! I too love getting the groceries.
Best sounding 15/16 stage 2 WRX I've heard. wow you guys really came though!
+Tredts Sindrome Thank you!! Glad you are loving it.
How much does the catted j pipe change the sound?
+Tredts Sindrome It will quite it down a bit, but actual pitch/tone will be pretty much the same.
Wow, great work MAP. I'm kind of partial to Invidia exhausts, but I may have to reconsider. This setup sounds great. Performance looks good.
Glad to hear we have your attention! We would love to earn your business and have you running our exhaust! Give us a call.
buying a 2018 wrx limited soon these vids are Great
You guys are great ! Just ordered my stage 2!! Tried the coupon, none worked... Great videos and sounds! Looking forward to install it on my WReXy !! ;)
Currently we have an extremely high demand for many of our MAP Fabrication items, such as your stage 2 WRX kit. In order to keep lead times short we have excluded our hand made products from recent sales. Please feel free to reach out when ever you're in need next, contact Ian Peterson and he will help make it right!
how bout vw for stage 1 2 3 with goapr or unittronic chipped...?
Sounds awesome!!... The new WRX sounds like lots of fun!... Can't wait to see it on the streets and play with it 😜
okay now THAT sounds like a WRX. Gonna have to look at this later.....
4:39 Start up/revs
Sounds awesome
Awesome video dude
haha this is a great little series
How safe is it vs. MFG warranty? I just got myself a 2015 WRX and i do work in service industry and i want to modify it but i also want to practice what i preach when it comes to MFG warranty on any engine troubles or vice versa. Does it nullify your full warranty for powertrain or does it only affect the modified components?
Hi there. what are the power gains with stage 2 and the 93 octane tune? thanks
Love the sound. I'm thinking of getting going for this setup. Did this system have the catted downpipe and the exhaust with the mufflers?
Can I use the aem intake with the Cobb accesport? I own a 2016 wrx. Thanks
I can't wait to get my 2017 Wrx stage 2!!!
Rolo Almendarez are u going to daily drive it or no. Cheers!
Same im starting my build this very spring!!!!
can we get some sound clips of the catless with straight pipes?
love the vid. Hell I'm 41 yrs. old & will eventually be getting a new exhuast system.
I even like your single muffler setup also. I will most likely do full system.
+Robert Smith Thanks Robert! Look forward to hearing from you!
A.C. S. Ayeeeee don't let age stop you from living life🔥🔥
I just turned 40 and am thinking about getting a WRX. We old guys are the reason these young kids have tuning. Don't forget it. It will be in our heart forever :-)
Is this test car running a MAP cattless J pipe, or the catted one?
that boost gauge
hey man, just got a downpipe as well. next is cobb ap and want to go stage two, any advice on what tune i should run so it is very reliable ? are pro tunes better then a ots?
Does your Stage 2 tune deal with the rev hang at all?
this voids warranty right?
How much it cost total? If i lease a WRX from dealer, can i do the MODS ( I am 99% sure i cannot).
we definitely missed you too lol
Vw does stage 1,2 and 3 too
How much are we looking at to go full stage 2? Also, is it reliable to daily drive? Thanks
What is the target AFR for this tune?
can you guys custom make your catback with a resonated in it to quiet it down a tone?
Is that extreme droning the exhaust?
Will it work with the 2016 cvt wrx?
Was that the stock bypass valve with a MAP filter? Sounded good.
The MAP catback imo is one of the BEST sounding exhaust systems for the 15+ WRX/STI definitely
can you do a video on the hks super turbo catback exhaust for the 2015 wrx?
4:16 DID YOU HEAR THAT! I want this so bad omg.
Will this package make more power on e85
I can’t wait to make my 2020 stage 2
We will be here when you're ready to take the plunge!
I have this stage 2 kit installed in my 2018 wrx from a previous owner. It’s like a hate and love relationship for me.. the exhaust sounds great when the car is warmed up and especially when you want the car to go around 3-4 rpm’s. What I hate is starting it up in the cold because I live in MN with all the snow.. the start up is so loud that it upsets my neighbors lol but after about 30 seconds or so it calms down on startup like you said in the video.
how long have you been running this set up?
@@jah-seeraulder6253 a year now
Do u have cat back or catless?
Are you still running with the stock clutch? have you notice any slippage at a specific WTQ threshold? Only thing I'm afraid is having to upgrade to a SMF with clutch set up, which most all tend to have those random clanking sound during idle at times.
+Javier Gutierrez Yes we are, which should hold to around 400wtq. So no worries for a while!
Do you guys do custom tunes for cvt subaru wrx?
what wheels does this wrx have?
So to do a stage 2 you need air intake and exhaust
srt-4's had stage kits. Cobalt Ss S/c and T/c had stage kits. Focus St have stage kits.. its really not new at all but it is cool
Hey! Would this stage 2 map work with an invidia catless downpipe? All I have installed is a Mishimoto intake, invidia catless downpipe and a custom 3in catback. Thanks😀
Yes any downpipe is fine, but it will require the use of our intake.
i currently have the maperformance stage 1 ots and wish to get your stage 2 map. i read that the mishimoto intake will work, but im not fond of it after reading the reviews. will the stage 2 maperformance ots work with grimmspeed? i really hope it does. #becauseracecar or will maperformance have a box for your intake to have better hold on the snorkel? im really satisfied with the stage 1 and am looking forward to stage 2 since the horsepower gain has been my goal in which why i bought the wrx. thank you ian
Our Stage 2 only works with the MAPerformance intake - which does come with a heat shield now! Thanks for the questions, feel free to call Ian at ext 111!
If we bought our AP from you and are running your stage 1 map do you have a stage 2 map that's with your downpipe and the stock cat back? or do you only have the full stage 2 package tunes available
We only offer up the Stage 1 and full Stage 2.
@maperformance does doing a tune/accessport get rid of the terrible rev hang these cars have? I almost hate driving my 2017 but maybe a few mods will help me start to like the car a little.
Yes, our tunes help with rev hang!
Is the j pipe illegal?
How does this feel for like stop and go traffic? I know that it's gonna be fun as hell on the open road, but is it gonna suck back and forth to work. I've heard somewhere that it makes 1st and 2nd gear more usable but I can't find much info on that.
Great question Will, you shouldn't see any major changes in drivability. We have loads of people running this set up for dailys!
I'm really thinking about getting the stage 2 kit but do you guys have any idea of engine reliability or how well the transmission will handle these numbers?
We have been rocking this kit for around 8k miles and is daily driven! No problems whatsoever!
Hey man, do you guys have unequal length headers for the 2015/2016 WRX's? I really prefer the subie rumble compared to the higher pitch rev that equal length headers make. I am really considering a newer wrx vs STi but the sound is really different.
+alampandatennisrack We do not, these come factory with twin scroll turbos and going UEL will take that advantage away.
How much more HP?
Hey guys! Can you please tell me why your boost gauge doesn't seem to be in sync with your shifting and reading accurately? Is that because you flashed it?
The boost gauge issues were unrelated to our tune or flash. The car was having issues reading to the stock gauge at the time.
What is the horsepower on your car?
Glad I asked bc I made 330whp/wtq from intake, intercooler, and j-pipe (supporting mods yes).
It says that the tune is included, but this made me ask, do you need to purchase an Access Port separately or is it included in the package with the tune?
The Accessport is an optional add on for the kit, the Stage 2 tune is free. So, if you have an AP already then you are set. Hopefully this answers your question!
If I get everything in this stage 2 package can I use the same tune with the Invidia N1 dual exhaust instead of yours?
Definitely! Our stage 2 is safe with most aftermarket exhausts.
wheels?
should do a sound clip of your TBE with muffler delete!
Hey Ian, been watching lots of your videos. Great content! I want to go stage 1 on my WRX really soon. I was wondering how the MAPerformance tunes work with aftermarket BPV and BOV. Do you have an email I can contact you at ?? Thanks in advance !
Sounds really good!
Is there a reason you guys chose Cobb vs ecutek? If you can share any input; I'd appreciate it! I'm stuck between the two
+Dubbstahh W Cost mostly. Ecutek is much more expensive, and additionally, more expensive to become a "Master Tuner". And, you have to carry a lop top around to download and flash tunes, rather than the small hand held device of the Cobb!
can you run any blow off valve with the stage 2 tune?
Yupp shouldn't be any problems - feel free to email Ian: ipeterson@maperformance.com
I've owned a Focus ST and they also had stages.
I'm really thinking of buying this car in the next 2 months..
I have a 85 Camaro with over 500hp but that's only for weekends.. it's a beast but I want something like this as a daily drive to work car.
If anyone has one of these I would appreciate your feedback. Should I or should I not...
Thanks
Proba ly stupid question but buying the stage 2 package from cobb the ap is ready to go right it already hase the map for the mods when you get it?
Our tunes will be emailed to you shortly after purchase.
Can you run stage 2 and your tune with everything listed except the ss catback exhaust? Isnt that only for the sound, no performance gains correct?
+McLovinPablo Yes that will work just fine, there are some gains to be had: about 10-15whp. But you don't need it!
i just bought a grimspeed jpipe and afe takeda intake if i were to buy stage 2 tune from you guys would it be compatibale or how would does it work
Our Stage 2 requires our MAP intake but is compatible with most other downpipes.
sounds fuckin great man
Just got word from cobb that the accessport won't compatible for the 2017 wrx for another couple of months 😑 has anyone heard different? It's getting hard to be patient.
It does not support 2017 yet, so yes you will likely have to wait :[
Do you guys offer a stage 1 tune for the 2017 WRX with everything stock except STI performance exhaust?
You can run that exhaust on our tune, yes.
Can I do this to my STI
How do I get a good deal on the stage 2 kit for my 2019 STI?
Give us a call at 651-348-8811!
Clearly im late to the party... But loved and appreciated the vid and information, none the less. I'm currently waiting to get some work done to my 2015 GTi so i can trade it in and get BACK into a WRX. Between model years 2015-17. Will definitely be giving you a call/e-mail/FB stalk to discuss pricing and place an order.
Sounds great Jay! Looking forward to it. We do offer stage 2 packages for the GTI as well ;]
Just got a 2019 WRX 2 months ago. Looking into reliable modifications. Is this package something that is okay for the car's longevity? Obviously maintenance is key but otherwise I'm wondering the effects on the 2.0 DIT powerplant.
Yeah absolutely reliable! We have customers running these kits for years now. Give us a call or email, we'd love to answer specifics for you!
Just wondering if we have Invidia n1 dual exhaust and Invidia catless j pipe and Cobb accessport will this tune still give similar or at least close numbers?
Our stage 2 tune is intended for our downpipe only.
Guys! Awesome videos! I was wondering when I can live somewhere close to great shops like yours. But I literally just found out I am living only 30 minutes away from your shop!!! I am getting my new wrx in few weeks, and will probably mod it in the near future, is there a way I can go to your shop and have a talk about modding the car? Thanks! subbed
+Mingchen Tang We would love that!! Congrats on the new purchase and thanks for the awesome feedback! We are open 9-6pm Mon-Fri and I am sure Ian would be happy to have you, give us a call ahead of time to make sure he's available.
Audi guys do stage 2 & 2+... Your not alone lol
VW, Revo tunes have stg 1,2,2+,3 etc...
Mustang guys do it too. Roush actually builds Stage 1, 2 and 3 Mustangs you can buy.
The higher the stage the more crowd they kill 😜
I was about to say 😂😂😂 #germanengineering
@@davidmaglioli7048 was gonna say, I remember seeing "stage" builds back at least as far as the '90s for Mustangs. I was never clear on what it meant, not being a Mustang guy, but I'd read the reference every so often.
Hey Ian, got a question....just got the stage 1 ots map from you guys yesterday! I love it over cobbs stage 1. I was wondering is it safe to run the Cobb big sf cold air with this tune?
Unfortunately at this time our Stage 1 tune does not support that intake.
MAPerformance ok thanks, lol it's gonna suck getting rid of your tune. It so much better than cobbs stage 1
Liking it, good job MAP, I am enjoying your 91 tune. Are you guys considering TGV's at all and charge pipe? The sound is nice for sure and it seems to pull real nice as well 305/341 is nice. 6:10 and on says it all! Same reason I am moving to Stage 2 & try to CONTROL it Ian! hahaha good one guys!
+La Ghoulstra (Cisco Kidd) Thank you!! We will be doing a charge pipe along with our intercooler sometime soon.
I have a perrin intake for my 15 wrx would i have to swap it for your map intake? Going stage 2. Just installed tomei and my invida catless dp get here in a week
Yes our stage 2 kit is intended for use with our MAP intake and downpipe. Any exhaust should work fine though!
The stock boost gauge wasn’t reading properly. You were on the gas and it showed negative boost.
How does this affect the reliability if the car? Anything you'd have to worry about going stage 2?
+SwipePwnzAll Thanks for the question! You won't have anything to worry about for Stage 2! Runs like a dream and won't hurt the car.
is the WRX in this review configured with a cated or catless downpipe?
Catless
If you have a catted dp u cant run stage 2 so ive been taught?? ...???
can anyone comment on if it has drone
Hello, I want this exact setup. Is this resonated down pipe, and with MAP mufflers or with muffler deletes.
Resonated with mufflers, give us a call!
I love subaru's but they really need an update on the engine. They have had the same sub 300 hp engine for so long, same power that can be found on MANY other cars.
Do you guys still have the package were I can buy the accessport and air intake with a tune from you guys? I'm really looking into going stage 1 with you guys
We offer a stage 1 with the accessport but that does not include the intake at all. You could certainly add that on to the package if you wanted! We only offer our stage 1 base tune and this stage 2 tune, though.
My racer girlfriend likes this kit and i think we decided on this combo for her first mod on her 18 wrx 😁😁😁 then e85
Will this work on the 2017 wrx?? Asking because the Cobb ap is compatible to the 17's
Isn't
Since when 😂😂
I like this sound bro! Is there an exsaust I could get that is a hair louder than stock ones but also slightly increases the noise of the air intakes for my 2019 STI? thanks in advance!
Do you have an aftermarket intake?
Can you use any high flow cat j pipe for stage 2? Safely?
Pretty much! There will be negligible differences between different cats.
