- I had the motivation and the momentum so I just went with it and did a huge wardrobe declutter. If you've never heard of your fantasy self, it's basically having clothing items in your wardrobe that you imagine yourself to wear but you don't actually wear them because they don't suit your lifestyle. I love the idea of having a small wardrobe, uniforms, or a capsule wardrobe created with pieces that make me feel my best and all sort of go together and can be mixed and matched.
The reality is we only wear about 20% of our wardrobe, 80% of the time. Today I took a hard look at my closet and although I was a bit indecisive, I was ruthless with myself and did some MAJOR decluttering. I hope this video was something for you to listen to while you did your own closet decluttering or organization! 💕

I can relate to the indecisiveness and it's inspiring to see you bulldoze through it.
I found that what really helps with decluttering is to try on every piece. You may have a fantasy that you look wonderful, but when you put the piece on you will notice the fit is not quite right, it requires undergarments that you don't want to wear, etc. Also, I sometimes model the piece I am contemplating if I can't make up my mind, and my husband gives it a thumbs up or down, with no other comments. Ultimately I decide, but it makes the decision easier. Linda

this video is the REALEST declutter i think ive seen on social media. i am also doing my own "fantasy self declutter" hope you continue this series!! we are all so influenced by peers, media, corporations, ofc we end up with so many things we dont use/wear. well done❤❤❤
My high heels phase is over😭. I decluttered them all.. kept a few low heels and wedges
Mine too😢 I miss them! But my feet literally couldn’t take it after having my first baby, now after two kids, it’s a wrap. It’s hard because I don’t like most flats out there 😫
I love how brutally honest and ruthless you were with your clothes. You're obviously in a different season in your life. Going forward you probably won't buy as much so your next declutter will be so much easier. You make me feel braver to declutter nice things I just don't wear.

I enjoy your videos. I keep a special occasion capsule wardrobe in another closet and am always prepared for an unexpected event without having to panic and run out and buy things I am not really crazy about. I like having it in another closet - so I don’t have to look at the items every day.

You need to bring those fancier items on vacation with you, and just wear them! Life is short! Wear the nice stuff out to a nice dinner, go to a show, the theatre, opera, concert, comedy show, or new years dance or party...something like that..and wear those fancier items then!

I paid $20 a pair to get my shoes professionally cleaned. It was worth it because I put the trust in and knew they would be clean

Great video! Decluttering has gotten so easy that I’m able to declutter without second guessing myself and that’s an awesome feeling to love and wear your items. Now the thing that really is my pet peeve is shoes on the bed, especially dirty shoes. Maybe that’s just the Asian part in me but seeing your shoes on the bed is like nails to a chalk board for me 😅

Someone always comments on that but I’m careful that the soles that touch the bed are clean. Trust me I don’t want my white bedding messy either!:) 💕
I’m currently overhauling my clothing/look. Feel it’s my age lol I’m very nearly 44 and want to look more toned down & stylish, but more casual stylish as I prefer comfort.
I am glad you kept those dresses. A wardrobe set up can look great but the most unpractical items are sometimes the things i can feel good in.
With shoes it’s easier, personally, is because u can wear a tshirt & jeans & those shoes u hvnt wore

Oooo have you tried regular Fireside by BBW? If you like Smokey wintery scents it’s deeeevine so smoky so woody and Wintery/autumnal I have like six backups Lol so much better than Marshmallow fireside imo but it only comes out winter/ Christmas season 🪵🔥🌲😍🥰
I think knowing your season helps a lot when decluttering. Since I know I'm a true autumn and what looks the best for me... I stick to it. ❤ I recommend you @stylebyfrancescacairns. Super good well trained stylist.
Maybe there is a reason why you pick white over the beige one... Because white is a cold colour, maybe you have a cool undertone and makes you look way better than beige. 😊
