    I usally just carry a couple of old tyre to sit the pad foot rollers on,as well it's good for smooth drums as well stops Steele on Steele effect.or as old mate said in the comments a couple of pieces of half inch rubber mats.

    How do you know where to put it on your trailer for weight distribution? And you are a chain master.

    • @RandeeLewis
      @RandeeLewis  Před 5 lety

    Hey brother I am trying to start in the flat bed business.
    I have a reefer now.
    I'd like to buy a flat bed.
    What do you recommend me to get?
    Is the step deck really a lot better than regular flat bed trailers?
    Of so,Please tell me why,I want to learn and whatever you can tell me helps.
    Thank you in advance, God bless you brother.

    How much time do you consume using that many chains and binders? Is there a reason you don't just throw 5 1/2 inch chains on it and roll like that?

    • @RandeeLewis
      @RandeeLewis  Před 6 lety +2

      +Daniel Walling my trailer is not rated to support half inch..only rated for 5,000 at all tie down points..and I only have 5/16 inch chains..3/8 would help with less being used but it doesn't take long at all..I throw them on pretty fast and on my way

    • @danielwalling6938
      @danielwalling6938 Před 6 lety

      Randee Lewis do you have any intentions to move to a low boy or more heavy duty flatbed to haul bigger and heavier stuff?

    • @RandeeLewis
      @RandeeLewis  Před 6 lety +1

      +Daniel Walling yes I do..if I could tomorrow I would..but yeah I'm definitely looking to get into bigger heavier things

    • @danielwalling6938
      @danielwalling6938 Před 6 lety

      Randee Lewis last question bro lol where in Texas are you located? I haul construction equipment in the DFW area.

    • @RandeeLewis
      @RandeeLewis  Před 6 lety

      Daniel Walling I stay In DFW

  • @fatchance4465
    @fatchance4465 Před 6 lety +2

    Randee, It looks like those are all direct hook ups to the roller. If so, wouldn't the WLL of your 5/16 chain be reduced by half (2,350 lb WLL)? 8 X 2,350 = 18,800 of Securement for a 42,000 load? I probably misunderstood what all your Securement was or, I hope I did. Like your videos, keep them coming.

      Also not knocking your securement methods just going to recite the law. When carrying an articulated vehicle that is Not locked with a pin you shall treat each section as a separate piece of equipment.

    • @RandeeLewis
      @RandeeLewis  Před 6 lety +1

      +Jay Latham ok thanks..next time I guess I'll move 2 sets of chains to middle where it pivots instead of 4 outside

    • @RandeeLewis
      @RandeeLewis  Před 6 lety +1

      +Fat Chance yeah I realized at delivery I should have just taken the ones n middle to the trailer and it would gave be more then enough

      +Tommy Lund it didn't..crappy place used 1 big forklift and on other side a little ass sky track..barely lifted enough for me to drive out from under before they dropped it on my trailer

    • @tommylund7527
