So adorable. I wish my parrotlet could talk. He was smart and knew how to go home when I told him. I miss Rainbow so much. He died on dec19, 2022. He tried talking, but words never came out. Everyday I go out to his grave to visit him, talk to him and make breakfast for him.

Oh, I hope that you get a Parrotlet. I have had every kind of bird you can imagine over my lifetime. The reason I loved Parrotlets are many. First thing, he keeps his cage very clean. They are not seed spitters. He is just a little lover. And I found him very easy to train using my voice memo on my iPad. Using my phone and my iPad I can record things over and over and over again. About five minutes worth and he just sits and listens to it and picks it up. Good luck

I took care of it for a few days let it loose in my courtyard and it flew away after I took photos of it. Then, about a year later he came back and stayed in my courtyard again until I took more photos and he flew away again. It was like he stopped to say hi and thank you.

I can't believe he says "I saw a puddy cat"!!!! I have a M & F 2 year olds who were hand raised & fed, I received about 8 wks old. My male talks, female never will, but chirps. He used to wake up chattering and talk mostly in his cage. They are out a lot & together. Not sure if now that he's older, he really talks the most when he's sleepy. Sometimes when I'm trying to get him to talk, but not as much as he used to.....? Maybe the terrible two's LOL

Try encouraging him to talk by letting him watch other Parrotlet talking videos. Also, when my bird says something that I like audio record it on I phone. Then, I copy it over and over. @@christiesilva6918 ok, I just looked up reptile lights. There is a 60 at blue moonlight bulb that is for night time. One thing is really important, the cage has to be large enough that your bird can walk away from it if he becomes too warm. He can’t be stuck in the warmth or it’s not good. Many people leave the mountain when they are bird owners because of the cold here. There are many kinds of lights for birds and their health. Google reptile lights, lights for birds, ect.
