Bluno started when he was about one years old. I put him in front of CZcams videos and then I copied sayings like I’ll get you my pretty off the TV and then I copy that onto my iPad 40 times and let it play. He can learn new phrases from other birds on CZcams and the movies in a very short time.

Bluno said his tag on since I got him. I have been afraid to try and take it off because I just don’t want anything to happen to his little leg. That could be devastating. Also, you could ask a Parrotlet site on facebook, there are many.

Around one year. Be consistent with one or two easy words. Only use words you want him to say. No walking up and talking all different types of conversation, which friends often do. Make you own voice audio’s of the certain words & let it play. Allow your bird to watch other talking birds on you tube.

I love all birds, love ring neck doves . I had a pigeon that I healed and helped with his wing that someone brought me from a casino. I took care of it for a few days let it loose in my courtyard and it flew away after I took photos of it. Then, about a year later he came back and stayed in my courtyard again until I took more photos and he flew away again. It was like he stopped to say hi and thank you.

Can I assure you that your bird is listening . So, when I was beginning to teach Bluno there were phrases that I worked on and I didn’t think he was getting it. He started learning words any very short time like 10 minutes of saying it. But, all of a sudden a year later, pops out the phrases that I told him a year earlier. It was like he was holding back and not saying the stuff I wanted them to and then all the sudden here it comes and when it came it kept coming. Never give up with your smart baby bird.

We are working on some new phrases like Here’s Johnny, Alrighty then, Wee doggy. He learns really fast, I hope yours is learning really fast, too. Once they learn, there’s nothing they can’t repeat and even a year later when you least expect it, Bluno will say something that I was trying to teach him a year ago and didn’t know he learned it. Always a surprise.

You can tell what he’s saying by what I’m saying. I’m copying him. Perhaps you might like more of what is in the middle of the video instead of the beginning.

Gotcha. Most people put the wording on the screen is what I meant. So it's a male. What age did it start talking?

No matter how small our loves are, they fill a huge spot I our hearts.

I would watch some videos on how to stimulate your baby. When I get my bird on my finger and say words he turns his head and looks at me and tries to see what my lips are doing. That way I know he’s interested in that particular word and sound. I also let him hear other birds chirping and making noise on CZcams videos period and that was really getting Bluno going. Eventually, he just started copying stuff including those bird sounds.

We live at 7000 feet and it’s very snowy sometimes. The light is 100 Watt Red bulb and Bluno can go to the light if he wants to get warm. It is not always necessary, but I have a better feeling knowing he has the option to go near or far from the light.

@@christiesilva6918 ok, I just looked up reptile lights. There is a 60 at blue moonlight bulb that is for night time. One thing is really important, the cage has to be large enough that your bird can walk away from it if he becomes too warm. He can’t be stuck in the warmth or it’s not good. Many people leave the mountain when they are bird owners because of the cold here. There are many kinds of lights for birds and their health. Google reptile lights, lights for birds, ect. Hope to see your baby on You tube taking up a storm.

He eats boiled eggs, a few nuts like cashews and pistachios, crackers and oatmeal. Mostly, he eats birds seed. I do not like changing up his diet by often. I have had a peacock die because I changed his diet. Stick with what you know and research everything you feed your bird. Google Google Google.

Thanks for the heads up on the feeder. If I put on shelled peanuts outside on the banister around the deck, they go crazy. It’s beautiful and I’ve named my house the Bluejay café. When people come here they think they’re coming to a restaurant.

@@rosieh6933 you sound so much like me! I have 15 feeders on the property plus add peanuts with the shell to them including the window suction feeder. It's all clear acrylic so you can see the Bluejays totally, including the evening gross beaks. I live in Northern Ontario Canada, like you, snow, snow snow everywhere!☃️

The stand is actually just something did you put a picture on and I’ll let bluenose stand on it sometimes. I know you can find something at Michael’s that might be similar. Remember, be careful of any kind of wood stand you put up because your bird can chew into it and you don’t want it to get sick.

@@BenePhamMakeup You are going to laugh, I had to Google IG….. I do not have an Instagram account. Someone’s telling me The other day that I need to get one. At this point I don’t have it. I am going to work on some new things with Bluno. Hopefully he still has the ability to catch on quickly. I’m going to work on a new phrase….

We are keeping ourselves busy on a snowy day in Big Bear Lake, Ca. We are getting a ton of snow.

His chest feathers are good. But, he gets excited and fluffs up when he’s talking.

Let your bird continue to watch talking Parrotlets and your bird will start to talk as well.
