    Any reason why it says No Battery when connected to this charger? I’ve never seen that message pop up on the screen and the manual doesn’t mention anything about it either.

    Hi Blamvideo:
    I'm completely new to the world of RC'ing and I would greatly appreciate your input in terms of charging my 5000mah 4s1p lipo battery for my RC Truck.
    1-Once the battery is fully charged, how long can I leave it in a fully charge state before I use it (days/weeks?)? I've read that you should never have a battery in a fully charged state as it can damage the battery and can potentially be dangerous in general.
    2-When would you ever need to balance a Lipo battery?
    3-What is the difference between the Storage Mode and the Discharge Mode?
    Thank you!

    Has your charger ever flashed CAPA instead of FULL? That’s what mine is doing and I’ve found the battery doesn’t last very long.

    before i charge a lipo, do i have to balance or discharge it? or does this X1 model do it automatically? if so, when do i need to manually balance and discharge my lipo? thanks !

    I'm confused as to why you hooked up the balance connector but didn't run it in balance mode?

    • @Powerpickle68
      @Powerpickle68 Před 8 lety

      That didn't make sense to me either since in normal charge mode the balance lead isn't needed

    • @Blamvideo
      @Blamvideo  Před 8 lety +1

      +Powerpickle68 that's correct, you don't need to connect the balance cable if you're during a regular charge, but I usually do as a good practice. I didn't mention this, but I alternate between balance charges and regular charges. Having that extra cable hooked up just allows you either option, before you plug it in. Thanks

    hi guys i have one question sorry for my english.
    I bought this used battery charger and it seems to me that I have a
    problem with him.when i charge NiMH or NiCd batteries after 21 seconds
    amperage drops to zero, but after a few seconds he start charging again
    (ie, the amperage returns to the set value) and it continues
    periodically in other intervals. is this normal or its broken.Lipo and
    Pb battery charging without interruption.Thanks

    I have the same battery as the one you used in this video. I have the voltage set to 7.4 and I noticed when the charge is completed, it says the voltage is 8.4. Is this right and does it matter?

    • @Blamvideo
      @Blamvideo  Před 8 lety +1

      Hi Chuck, you need to charge a battery at higher than its rated value to get the current to flow. When you are charging 7.4V batteries the charger typically goes upto 8.4V. Here's a quick read on 12v charging for reference.

    Coming from a guy had that an RC10 in 1994 all of this programmable shit is ridiculous. My car had 2 servos (1 for steering one for throttle) and a receiver. There were two trim adjustments on the controller. No programming, no settings, plug and play and it worked great. Why can't they just make it simple? I have 2 traxxas trucks I got used for me and my son and all the different batteries and settings are driving my nuts. Stupid.

  • @garylujan777
    @garylujan777 Před 4 lety

    If your not using them for a long period of Time you should do a storage charge so they don’t drop below 3.4 or 3.7 that way when you are ready to balance change them after 3 to 4 months they will be ready to balance charge there is a lot to know about lipos and you can damage them and waste a lot of money on poor info just saying

    Dividing 5000 by 1000 is complete bullshit. You have to look up in the manual how many amps you should use.

      thats 1C charge rate...all guides and such tell you to charge at 1c, even back of my Lipo batteries/manuals say 1c everywhere. LIPO batteries like he is charging int his video are different from NIMH..I wouldnt charge NIMH type batteries in the same manner
