Many have clarified the name Triochrome means they're 3 chrome shades in this Palette. I am assuming they are multi chrome shadows because they are described as multi chrome on her website not duo chrome. I thought not only was there 3 chrome shades in the palette but the shades themselves are also Triochromes because the description says Multi chrome shades. So, it's definitely a little confusing. Lol. Just wanted to let everyone know why I thought that💋❤🦋 But, it could be that she only was referring to having 3 chrome shades in the palette 🤷♀️🤣
I feel like the naming of this palette was a little bit confusing/misleading...I think a lot of us thought “Trichrome” meant multichrome rather than 3 duochrome shades. I’m not in the market for this palette anyway so I’m not mad about it but I think some folks are a little let down. These eye looks are stunning and I’m glad you’re healing so quickly! 🙂
Well then, I was duped also, I read it and interpretated it the same way. Ether way, I'm still not impressed, especially hearing that news. Its not 125 for me anyways...
No you weren’t wrong. On their IG captions for the palette she literally describes each of the center shades as being multi chrome and lists out the three different color shifts for each one.

Tbh, I love the color story of this palette. The pale purples and pastel greens are so different and beautiful. These shades in NDs creamy matte are gorgeous. I don’t mind that the duo/trio chromes do not have as distinct shift in color. Multi chromes are not something I really swoon over. That they provide a beautiful metallic shimmer is good enough for me. My only hesitation, is of course the price. I so wish ND did this palette in the midi or even mini size. This large palette with all this product is just not something that will be used regularly. Unlike the Biba, the color story of the Triochrime does not justify the price. But the color story is why I want this palette!!! I’ll wait for it to go on sale. Sigh

I’m so sorry for your loss, Tara. My mom passed away in May, so I understand how terrible this year feels for a lot of people.
I think Mel hit the nail on the head when she said "the name triochrome must mean - 3 shades with a chrome finish".
I may have bought this had it been in the $65 price range. I can guarantee that I'm never too hit pan on any eyeshadow palette, and I think we're all in that position. I would really appreciate her not making any more of these larger palettes.
Perhaps this is a palette intended for makeup artists, hence the size, 🤷♀️.

So, I think being there are 3 shades in the palette that are chrome, and the 3 shades are multi chrome the palette was called Triochrome. But that's just my thoughts on it. If she only meant to name the palette Triochrome only because there are 3 chrome shades in the palette then it's a little misleading by using the word multi in her description 🤷♀️🤪🦋 But I still think this Palette is a dud, and it makes it even less worth it if those shades are not meant to be Triochrome effect shades🤷♀️🤪🦋

Totally agree Tara. Dropping $129 on a palette, thinking you're getting 3 tri chrome shades, only to find out that its 3 multi chromed shades - is a huge disappointment right there.
Of course, this is clever advertising but it's sneaky and underhand too. To be honest, I would feel duped and cheated if I had bought this. In fact, I would probably return it! xxx xxx xxx

Personally for this amount of money I’d recommend someone just get a Pat McGrath palette. I think everyone would be way more satisfied with one of her palettes. Divine Rose 2 has a true triochrome shade that’s amazing.
I am so sorry for your loss. I feel like you have created such an inclusive, helpful and positive community and that is down to your genuine warmth yet professionalism. You come across as truly authentic with a love for beauty not just making it as a job. I also love that you engage with us and it makes us want to support you in turn. I am sure your family and friends are helping each other in the grief but if you need a break don't feel obligated just cause it is holidays - but also understand still doing what you love to feel normal. I think that the name triochrome comes from that there is 3 duochromes in the pallet, not actual triochromes. I could be wrong but that's what I have figured it to be.

You’re 100% right. There is a trio of multi chrome shades...hence why it’s called trio chrome. I don’t know why people are confused by this
WOW, that makes sense. I looked at the description of this on her website and she describes these shades as Multi Dimensional shades, which goes with this whole triochrome stuff so I assumed that's what she meant. Thanks for that explanation ❤💋🦋

My thoughts, this palette should have been the mid size at $65. The multichromes are lacking in this palette. One could get better multichromes from Indie cosmetic companies. I took a look at Sephora reviews and they weren’t too good. If someone was interested in purchasing this palette, I would wait for it to go on sale at a discounted price. It will eventually.

The funny part is that I not thinking about buying this palette, but I have watched a bunch of videos on it already, and this is what I think. I think she called it TrioChrome because the Palette has 3 chromatic shades, not because every of the chrome shades is a trichrome (3-color-flip) shade. What I feel I think this palette has is: 1 chrome, 1 duo chrome, and one multichrome and the mattes

I agree with you, I wish she would have created this palette in the $65 style. The colors are beautiful and super fun but I will never use a colorful palette as my day to day and thus would never use enough product for the $129 price tag. I think I absolutely would have purchased this if it was the $65 format

Tara, I'm so sorry for all the stress you've been enduring this year. I greatly appreciate you coming on here and still being yourself and giving us the details on if something is worth it or not. I knew this palette wouldn't perform well as far as the multi chrome but I love the matte formula and knew I could interchange the metallics from other palettes with this. I'm glad I was able to get it on sale. As soon as I saw those huge swatches I thought no one's lid space is that big to show off all the shift and if you need that much it's not going to perform well on the eyes. I did order two of the liquids to use as liner to make these colors pop. My biggest peve about this palettes is the shift on the packaging! If you're able to make it shift like that on the packaging why not add that color to the flippin palette instead of the purple shade in the middle that we got?! Like that one is pathetic compared to the other two.
YES, YOU NAILED IT. This Palette was marketed and sold under the assumption of those shades having a multi dimensional effect, trio effect. The images, the description everything. And they are NOT. Just not worth it🤦♀️🤷♀️

Hi Tara! I just turned 44 last month so I appreciate watching someone closer to my age! I have most of Natasha’s palettes including this Triochrome palette. I agree about the chromes, they are more duo chromes. Due to my age, although I love colour, I wasn’t looking for loud trio chromes because I want to wear more subtle looks that don’t look too crazy. This is why I’m happy with this palette that I can combine it with my other Natasha palettes for pops of fun colour if I think about my Bronze, Biba, Safari and Glam palettes. PS I had no issues with my Safari palette. I love it. The Love palette was a total flop as it seemed the pinks and reds just didn’t suit my dark blue eyes and yellow under tone. The only ND palette that most shades look bad on me. But not her Sunrise palette, I think because that one is warm toned compared to cool toned like the Love palette. With this Triochrome I feel it’s nice and muted fir softer colours. I’m waiting to use it more for spring summer ;) I do suit most of these colours but I need to figure out how to use the very neon green and lime.. Maybe as a matte high light. The purples really made your blue eyes pop! I also wish this was $65. This was a mistake making it so expensive. It will be discounted next year. Would a dark base make the triochromes pop more?

This palette looks like spring/summer to me. Had it come out in spring, in the smaller £60 size I may have picked it up. I’m not a matte shadow person so I would’ve preferred a few shimmers as well as the whatever they are chromes. I’m waiting for another Metropolis style palette. I would pay £111 for that but not for this palette.

Thank you for reviewing these products! I just can’t justify the price as well. If she had more duo chrome shades in this I would probably buy this, ie all 5 of the powder versions of all her liquid duo chromes she released. it looks really pretty though. If she releases a mini or smaller palette I would probably buy it.

I got the triochrome for the mattes. I like the chrome shadows, but I prefer a toned down version..like the ones in this palette... not an in your face like the liquid. I'm happy with my palette. I like your hair like this btw :).

Amazing meticulous attention to detail - as usual
Everyone has said that even the special shades aren’t special at all. Thankfully I passed and so glad I did when I found out there all matte except for those shades. Not worth it to me.
It is pricey for sure... but I love the colors and they are entirely unique to my collection. For me I like how she laid them out in complementary rows bc I'm not super good with colors. I dont like super crazy bright multichromes- so the fact the they are muted- I like that. So, unpopular opinion, but I like it a lot! This has been a TOUGH year so I'll buy some over priced happiness now and then ;)

i realllly needed to see one of your videos. i’m driving to jersey from florida as we speak to plan my dad’s funeral. i got a phone call yesterday from my dad’s friend saying that my father was found with no pulse in his bedroom. i’m so sorry for your losses. i can’t imagine losing two close family members so quickly. he was going to move to move in with me next month. i realllly needed this distraction. i realllly wanted to purchase this palette but i’m still trying to figure out how i’m gonna pay for my prosthetic. 2020 has been getting worse and worse as it goes. covid for two months, 9 surgeries and still ended having the amputation, and now my daddy passed and i feel so lost.

This palette should have been released as a midi palette, not a Ltd edition full sized palette named specifically for the trio chromes , of which there are only 3 of. I would have bought this for the midi price but not full sized-poor decision on ND’s part. I agree with what you said and considering that the shade Scarab is both in powder and cream shadow form I thought she was attempting to duplicate the cream multi chrome shadows into powder form in this new palette. Those are weak powder duo/trio/multi chrome shadows (whatever they are).
Your eye looks were SUPER awesome 👏🏼 but those wouldn’t look as stunning on my crinkly lids 😆 so it’s a pass for me at that price tag. Having said that, the mattes look great! Maybe 1 or 2 deeper mattes to offer depth but I’d buy this more for the mattes than the 3 center shades.

I purchased this palette 🎨 and I couldn't agree with you more. Now I'm out $109(got it on sale).
Maybe I'm an English nerd... No...I know I am. Lol...but I thought it meant 3 chromes. Trio = 3 and chromes. So I'm excited to get the palette! I had already heard that the scarab shade was the best one of the liquid chromiums. And I love the color story of all of those mattes!!! So I think I will be happy with this once I have it based on all the reviews I've watched:).

Watching this today has got me thinking that the olive greens looks similar to some of the colors in the new Yucca palette. Since i already have Metropolis, Bronze, and Gold, maybe i should just get this instead of Yucca?🤔

Very disappointed with this palette especially for the price point. I returned mine already. Pat McGrath is the way to go especially for trio chromes. If the ND palette was $65 I would have kept it but not for $129. Great review as always

I think they are a trio chrome, just more subtle. Wish the green pulled more orange and blue shifts. That would have been better. I do think they are pretty though.
I am not sure about this palette, I know some other brands might have a better shift to this colors but I think with ND you get a more sophisticated look and you can use her palette without looking like a disco ball... I like it I am not sure I love it I think I will stick to my Pat McGrath for now and maybe later I might get this
I purchased this for the mattes and the color story not the shimmer shades, so I was not disappointed. With that said, had I not had a gift card, I probably would not have purchased just because I will never hit pan on these colors. Really feel with these colors the smaller palette would have been more appropriate and an easier yes for more people.

It’s literally named trio chrome because it contains three (a trio) of multi chrome shades...why is this difficult for people to grasp...the name is literally so self explanatory it makes zero sense why you didn’t get it.

Am in the uk I love makeup but I cannot justify spending 115 pound on an eyeshadow pallette the most I will ever spend is 60 pound I would love to try pat mcgrath eyeshadow but they are just to expensive for me x
I like the pallet.... but agree not for a triochrome... but that might be good if you aren’t into the super in your face triochrome shadows. This is like a more wearable color option for me. Every time i have worn a look from it I get tons of compliments!
My favorite thing about this palette is that you get the triochrome/chrome look without it being too Holloweenish...just about anyone can wear it, it is a classy chrome!
AGREE!!! I'm a makeup enthusiast myself, not a pro; will never hit pan in her full size palettes. She also needs to make her palettes 2/3 matte; no one uses as much shimmer as she puts in her palettes, which also makes it a waste of money. I use Viseart's full sized palettes practically every day and still don't hit pan before open box life expiration. Sadly, Viseart's smaller palette color stories suck; that's not an accident.
I feel like she made these kind of toned down as more approachable shifting shadows so that people who want to dabble in them can, but without feeling super committed to that look. Like, a way to get all these soft pretty mattes and yet dip your toe into something different. People who really want that triochrome experience are probably going to seek out the indie brands, but this would still be fun to try for say, $65. I have a feeling it’s going to be on sale for $99 at some point.
In my opinion it is a rather difficult color story. Those greens and yellows do not suit that many ppl I feel. And if you don't know how to work those colors it can become quite tricky. It's not my favorite palette at all from ND, I won't buy it since if I were to spend that amount I would want it to work as easily as possible. and I don't see that with this palette... but great review as always xx

I know you have a lot going on and life is rough right now but I have a question. Will you be reviewing KKW birthday palette and new lip products? I’m soooo wanting to buy them but I was hoping to get your thoughts first.
Yes, that's coming up. I have had it filmed for a minute but then all this happened. I will just yell you off the bat. I planned on doing 3 looks with that Palette, but I had a reaction to those pressed pigments. Never in my life have I had ANY reaction to any eyeshadow until that day. So, this is her FIRST pressed pigmented formulas and It didn't agree with me at all. Lol. So, I only filmed 2 looks. It's not my favorite purple Palette. I wouldn't waste your money on it too be honest. The purples blended ok, but they're a little powdery and they blend away as your blending. Not sure what was in it that caused me to have a reaction, I'm still investigating. And I'm not saying anyone else will, but it's weird for me to have a reaction. Lol
The liquid lips are very mousse like and they are pretty, but don't last as long as a normal liquid lip. They give the lips some hydration, but I found them not to last very long on the lips which was disappointing ❤🦋 Hope that helps💋

Seriously THE BEST. I haven't had a puppy as sweet and good as he is. He's so mellow, fun, LOVING, and just a wonderful dog. I have a German Shepherd, she's protective, right there with you, one of the smartest dogs I know. But the Golden is just sweet. You can see why they are the most common family dogs. He is my LOVE🦋💋🤪
Oh and did I mention his technically my daughter's dog. Hahaha🤪🤣 I freaking LOVE HIM. can't help it🤪🦋

If this was at the $65 price point, I may have been talked into it, but the higher price tag for a palette that doesn’t blow me away means a no for me! I do want one of her larger palettes, but this one doesn’t seem the best one to go with!
There is some misunderstanding here. This palette is not called Trichrome. Or Multichrome. It is just chrome eyeshadows and because there are 3 it is called TrioChrome. It has nothing to do with Trichrome expectations.
this colour story should 've been released in spring/summer.... I mean, there are so many pastels and ' happy' colours that I can't wear in winter.... and reminds me so much of Mel's palette.....
My understanding of the palette is not that there are 3 triochome shades but there are 3 chrome shades = triochrome. I’ve heard so many say the chrome shades may have duo chrome.
