  • Doing a little experiment with the Bluetti EB55. Going to see how long I can run my 5000btu ac window unit. I would not recommend the EB55 for a window unit. I just so happen to know it will run this model and am curious to how long it will. If you are looking for a power station to run a window unit I would recommend a larger power station like (Bluetti ac200max) or (Anker 767 powerhouse). If you are interested in any of the power stations we mention or show check out our website in the comments.

I’ve owned several of these 5k twist-knob Midea units. All have worked very well.
I actually bought two as backup units to use with solar power stations in the future. They have fairly low inrush LRA (locked rotor amperage) on start-up which is friendly to power stations.
The information below is something that I discovered through trial and error, but has greatly extended the life of these units for me. Here goes:
In the interest of user convenience, and a 6% improvement in energy consumption, the condensation pan does not have a drain in these units.
The condenser fan in the unit has a water ring around it that, when the pan fills up to its base, the fan blades catch the water and sling it onto the internal portion of the aluminum condenser cooling fins, and evaporate. This use of the water from the pan very slightly increases the unit’s efficiency - at one inconvenient cost. Corrosion.
With regular use, the water being slung against the aluminum fins corrodes them in the fans water-sling pattern, until the corrosion reaches the copper refrigerant line, at which point the unit is finished. The copper lines corrode quickly, and rupture from the refrigerant pressure, releasing the units refrigerant. With regular use this happens every 1-2yrs depending on usage.
Well, I figured that I’d add a drain line to the last unit I purchased, at the expense of the 6% efficiency decrease. I carefully drilled two holes up through the bottom of the pan at its lowest points, threaded tube-taps into them. (you can just let it drip if you don’t mind that, however)
I noticed no difference in the units cooling. It has worked great now for 3years and makes less noise from removing the water sloshing sounds. The best part - there is no corrosion on the aluminum find whatsoever. It still cools like the day that I bought it. I now do this to all of the window units I purchase, and I’ve had to purchase them a whole lot less frequently as a result. I can’t tell any difference in the cooling with all of them. They all work just as well as they did with the water slinging. Anyways, i know this is a long comment lol. Figured i’d share that info.

Yes this is the reason I have a power station. We in Louisiana so with tropical storms and hurricanes we have had our share of power outages. If there is something we can help you with let us know this is our online store we have small to large power stations. Would be glad to recommend one to you if you know what you would like to run during power outages

It would be awesome for a little over an hour. Get a generator!

    Good test!
I’ve thought about doing one similar myself.
A set of solar panels hooked up,
at the same time would help keep it going.
Not sure how much the EB-55 can take,
    probably at least 200w.
As long as you can set them in the Sunshine.

The powerbank is 537 wh, the load from the AC is 400 watts….537/400=1.3425 hours….or 1 hour and 20 minutes.

More realistic to run some fans and see how long they’ll run.

I know our home refrigerator will spike to 1200watts at times so I’m sure it will not run it. But we do have a small freezer I was able to run for around 5 ours. But I would not suggest getting the eb55 for bigger appliances like that.

Which device do you think would run a refrigerator

    • @Suncatcher-wt2od

@@anthonyharris6835 I would suggest the Anker powerhouse 767 or bluetti ac200 max if you looking to run it for several hours. With the Anker powerhouse 767 I can run our home refrigerator for 12 hours. The bluetti ac200 max should be about the same results.
Throw some solar panels into the mix should be able to run them a long time.
With a bluetti ac200max with 1 expansion battery and 1100 watts solar I ran the same refrigerator for a week straight the only reason I stopped was because I wanted to. The solar was charging up during day and I had enough watt hours with the expansion battery to get me through the nights.
Another around same watt hours is the Bluetti ac200p just under the bluetti ac200max but will run a refrigerator for several hours as well. There is just more option in solar input expansion batteries for the Bluetti ac200max. This is a link to the bluetti ac200p.
