- Malaysian food is proving to be some of the best in the world! Pete is a huge fan on Cendol dessert so when he heard the best Malaysian cendol dessert was in Melaka, we had to go try it out!
This week we wanted to bring you in to our story as we arrive and explore somewhere new as a family for the first time. Family travel is chaotic at the best of times, so when we first arrive somewhere, the chaos, the giggles, the excitement and the love are all are all next level!
Ooo and we were fortunate enough to arrive just at the famous Jonker street night market was opening up!

Welcome to Malacca .. My Hometown as well .. There is a huge ancient ship turned into a museum located quite near the Dutch Square .. It's name is Flor De La Mar or better known as Muzium Samudera .. Whilst there .. Perhaps taking a hike up St Paul's Hill to see an old church ruin and the scenery up there is magnificent as you'll be able to see the Straits of Malacca and the city .. Melaka Raya area is also another food haven as there are plenty of choices to choose from .. Wok N Pan at Melaka Raya for their Signature Western Food .. Simply Fish at Kota Laksamana .. Nadeje Mille Crepe Cake at Mahkota Parade .. Seafood at Portuguese Settlement .. Wan Tan Noodles at Tun Tuah .. Only available around 6pm .. At the location .. You'll also get delicious Fried Oyster Omellete and Grilled Barbeque Chicken Wings over charcoal fire .. And many others .. Enjoy your stay in Malacca ..

In Malaysia, if you see brown sugary looking sauce its normally palm sugar..we rarely use cane sugar because there's plenty of palm sugar obtained from the juice of the nipah or nibong plam tree. These juices are then cooked till they caramelize and left to harden before being packed. Great dad! Take the chicken and put it on the balls and eat..very very efficient 🤣🤣! I'd like to have those when i go to Malacca.

In liquid form it is palm sugar. Gula melaka. Unprocessed brown cane sugar is for packet to use for drinks.

I had a lot of fun, bonding time with my kids, the memories still lingers...maybe because its the 1st outing together after a long time...The way I see, I knew you're enjoying Melaka, theres so much to do, see & eat in Melaka right? Hudson saying `cendol' sounds so cute! and Darien's babbling never fails to make me smile! turn cuter when they sleep right mama? @@TheBackpackingFamily You may try each ingredient first before you mix everything. Then only, all the tastes would be well balanced & that's how we Malaysians usually eat our cendol. Even that's how majority of Malaysian drink or eat out food, mix everyting well....
