That blue flower dumpling is called "pua kiam tee chang" (in Hokkien) "pua" means half, "kiam" means salty, "tee" means sweet & "chang" means dumpling. The filling of it is usually made of pork, peanuts & "tang gua" (winter melon - and the one they put in this type of dumpling is the dried ones).
The chilly sauce is one of the important elements when eating Chicken Rice. Btw, the chilly sauce served for the Chicken Rice is very very different from the rest of the chilly sauce.
The putu piring u had is not the original in Melaka. The best and original one is in Jalan Tengkera. Opens only at night. My favourite as a local. And there are also better durian cendol in other parts of the city. =)
Cindy Ng She's right. Its hard to find a good putu piring nowadays. They used rice flour to make them with palm sugar filling inside, and youre supposed to eat it with sweet grated coconut. The ready-to-eat putu piring should be moist and soft, not dry! Sorry you encountered such a sorry putu piring. For the cendol durian, they should be more palm sugar liquid and coconut milk, that way the shaved ice would blend better, and i dont see a durian there. Again, its not a very good cendol. Hope you can try more of our local food and like them. Thanks for the video!

Honestly,even though I'm a Malaysian , I've never try these food except putu piring. Maybe because it's something only on Melaka.And the durian cendol, I only have tried cendol but not that icy durian cendol!The coconut baloon sure only exist in Melaka since it's rare.
