    21:45 betting the turn with an overpair gives you a lot of information about the strength of the opponents hand and makes the river call or raise a lot easier. Just imo. Lucky to run your aces into a smaller over pair.

    • @TravisHallPoker
      @TravisHallPoker  Před 10 měsíci

      Yeah I don’t disagree with you here. I think betting on the turn is the better move most of the time. I decided to check back which I think is ok, but definitely some merit to betting there 👍🏼
      Solid input

    It's really nice to see you sit down with pros around the table. I can tell you play very comfortable and are sure of yourself. That's because you are now. I thought that was an outstanding hand you played with the aces. No matter what anyone says those are a lot of time a ticking time-bomb. Although they when a little over 59% of the time. Very proud of you son, another outstanding session

      Yeah would have been a different story without the Queen on the board there. Much more sure of myself than I was in the beginning. Game has come a long way in a few short months 👍🏼

    That AA v KK hand you played it perfect. You got maximum value afic. I don't think KK even calls a min click on the river in that spot, especially when piloted by a good thinking player. I really think you got the maximum without getting it all in on the flop. Which, in reality was probably the only way that was gonna happen. If you raise the river bet all the value you beat folds, and everything else is beating you. That was an excellent played hand.

    • @TravisHallPoker
      @TravisHallPoker  Před 10 měsíci

      Really like your analysis on that hand! Those are the reasons I played it the way that I did. Can tell you know what you’re talking about 👍🏼
      Appreciate you watching and giving some feedback!!

    • @Edward-xd1td
      @Edward-xd1td Před 10 měsíci

      You're kidding right you think this was played perfectly you should be betting the turn here most of the time you're probably good here 85% of the time and you missed a lot of value half pot size or so turn the pot into a $1,400 pot and then you can extract even more on the river and even if you checked the river he might bet 4 or 500.. personally I think there was a lot of value lost here.... you won $500 an your stack size was 1600 I think you could have almost maybe staff this guy with this and this is why we play poker to have Aces run into Kings and hold I would not say this was played perfectly but I'll run it by my buddy who plays 10:20 and see what he says.. but I'm 95% sure he's going to agree with me and he plays in the toughest games at Bellagio an the Wynn.

    • @TravisHallPoker
      @TravisHallPoker  Před 10 měsíci

      I think if there was a street that could have been played differently, it would have been the turn. A bet there seems just fine, but an occasional check is fine there too. And keep in mind, hands will be played differently at different stakes

    • @Edward-xd1td
      @Edward-xd1td Před 10 měsíci +2

      @TravisHallPoker so my buddy and I chatted at Great length about this and just because it was interesting and then he ran it by the solvers and the turn that is absolutely mandatory he said he would bet at least 3/4 of the pot and 97% of the time solver pretty much agreed also I don't think it matters if you're playing 2 5 510 even 10:20.. and also you should be raising on the river too because the only hand that villain can really show up with most of the time would be Kc if he had Queens absolutely should be hammering the turn he feels and the solver also agrees that the hand was played unfortunately horribly by both villain and hero.. his words. I like to discuss hands with him to get better I wasn't trying to criticize your play or the other guys play I'm just telling you what he said and he's been crushing the games in Vegas for over 10 years he's so bored with playing Holdem that he now plays high-stakes mixed games reason I brought it up is because my first thought was the turn is a mandatory bet by you there when he checks.. and by doing that if he calls you now get the rest of his stack on the river and his lead out on the river is absolutely horrendous also.. also he should be betting the turn with this Kings on that board ...he pot ended up being a total of about a thousand but there was a lot of money left on the table unfortunately by you.. my buddy says that these lower limit players always play too scared and they're always worried that somebody has him beat and they lose a lot of value and I think that's what happened in this hand something for all of us to learn from

    • @TravisHallPoker
      @TravisHallPoker  Před 10 měsíci +1

      I actually like that you took the time to discuss this with a successful pro and he put it in the solver. I’ll never be upset about anything like that, even if my plays are “criticized”. Poker is a game where you are almost always making a mistake of some kind, so my feelings will never be hurt about that lol. Appreciate the feedback as always

    I enjoy your vlogs and watching you move up from 1/2 to higher stakes, You're a quick study. I only play 1/2 and 1/3. On the AA hand I would have jammed rather than call his 4 bet. I play in TX where things can get nuts at times, but here the villain has AA, KK, QQ or AK possibly suited. Villains here with any of those hands would almost always call. You are a heavy favorite to all of those (except AA, which as you said is highly unlikely). You gotta go for it now and if villain sucks out on you, so be it. Love to hear your thoughts.

      Thank you, appreciate you being a watcher of my channel and for the support!!
      I think your input here is quite valid and would be the correct move a lot of the time. If I was playing 1/2 or 1/3 and stacks were slightly shorter, I would have likely just jammed it in pre flop.
      Against a pro player very deep in a 2/5 game, I just felt the right move was flatting his 4-bet and trying to get more value after the flop. The runout just did not come totally ideal on this one unfortunately.
      He did tell me he would have folded if I 5 bet and I actually believe him lol

  • @MacksBet28
    @MacksBet28 Před 10 měsíci +1

    Nice video bro. Definitely think you shoulda 5 bet for sure. People arent 4 betting as bluffs almost ever. If you 2.2x it to 500 i doubt a hand that 4 bet is folding i.e qq kk aks myave even jj continues to that sizing since you're so deep

    • @TravisHallPoker
      @TravisHallPoker  Před 10 měsíci

      Thanks bro! We were talking about the hand after and he told me he would’ve folded to a 5 bet. Sounds crazy I know 😂 but in his shoes to a 5 bet I would’ve considered the same. Appreciate you watching!!

    • @MacksBet28
      @MacksBet28 Před 10 měsíci

      @@TravisHallPoker it's all good 👍🏾 I don't see players making that fold. You think a jam woulda been a better play perhaps? Not theory based but just in live low stakes dynamics what do you think

    • @TravisHallPoker
      @TravisHallPoker  Před 10 měsíci

      I would say depending on the opponent, yes you can definitely throw a shove in the mix there. Especially playing 1/2 or 1/3 I’m likely shoving. But 300+ BB Deep against a pro, I felt calling was just the more profitable move there 👍🏼

    I played a 2/5 recently on a high hand Saturday, all 1/2 games had at least 20 people on the waitlist so I tried 2/5 and sat down with 500... Unfortunately it was a table stakes game and pretty much everybody had at least between 1500 & 5k, it played more like a 5-10 game and after 40 minutes and losing about 150 I left the table

    An etiquette tip: when you win a pot don’t ask what the losing player had. That’s such a novice and tilting thing to do, just be quiet and take his chips.
    Bomb pot tip: you should know all the cards on board when making a big decision on the river.
    When you’re opponent polarizes himself you have 10 cards on the board and 4 in your hand (26% of the deck) to figure out if he has you beat on both boards.

    • @TravisHallPoker
      @TravisHallPoker  Před 10 měsíci +1

      Usually don’t ask that, but everything is usually quite friendly at the poker room I play at regularly. Didn’t gauge my opponent correctly on that one. Thanks for watching and for the feedback 👍🏼

    Vs that sizing AA is a slam dunk jam it in his face on the river especially when he has about pot behind…

    • @TravisHallPoker
      @TravisHallPoker  Před 10 měsíci +1

      I like the input, but the only hand that can contemplate a calling a shove there is KK. All other hands either beat me or fold. And KK likely folds to a jam there. But I like the feedback!!

    • @Awre18
      @Awre18 Před 10 měsíci

      @@TravisHallPoker I disagree, feel like AQ, KO, and KK are the value. when people bet this sizing on the river, they have little to no bluffs. He'd want to bet a lot bigger with AKc, A5, QQ for value, then AK with club, AJ with club are the only bluffs meaning he goes bigger for fold equity trying to rep flush. I really can't think of any bluffs for that size, and those value hands might call off. Idk, that's my logic on that one.
