2 months ago I visited Chitrakoot, although it's a nice and scenic place but the local people and the priests there have made it horrible and one time visit place only.

Yes for locals. Ample examples for all faiths in India - Hajji Ali Dargah, Ajmer Dargah, Mahim Church, Velankani Church, Golden Temple, Shirdi, Tirupati, etc. I am Hindu by birth, visited many of these religious places and contributed to local businesses.
