I am born in the 2000’s but I find Zeenat Aman very intriguing and a pioneer in terms of her choices and sticking by them,for women of that era I think it would have been a big deal. Zeenat Aman enlightened the 70's. I once read that she is the 1st Indian movie star to have sign up an agreement with a French perfume brand. Her movie, The Great Gambler (1979) is my favorite.
I just love Zeenat Aman. She is so well spoken and stylish.
I have been a huge fan of hers for a very long time and I am a child of the 70s. I found her extremely sensual, appealing and always with such grace. I have always wondered why the other heroines were spoken about and celebrated so much while she was not. She had two very difficult marriages, raised two children by herself and still stood strong. Such women should be spoken about and written about so that women in general get to know that it is not the end of life with failed marriages or other difficulties in life.

I still have a similar sun glasses I got after I watched her movie. She was also one of the reasons why I never became an actress even after I got my first offer those years actresses were looked down on. I always wanted to be an air hostess but my uncle who worked with the civil aviation refused to allow me to apply the 80s was a bad time for actresses or anyone in the public eye. Anyway loved her movies as I was chaperoned by my brothers as movies I was allowed to watch was first vetted by them. Today I am now told by my daughter what movies I must not watch. Life has come a full circle.
