Omg! Talk to your doctor, over and over. If I wanted or could talk to my doctor I wouldn't be watching you!
It's what we used to call CYA. Cover your a**
lol He has to say that to protect himself from lawsuits.
I get more information online from medical doctors; than I ever did by "chatting" for 2 minutes with my Primary Care Doc. The current medical system is obsolete when it comes to nutrition and metabolism. I always end up educating my poorly informed doctor about current studies.
Right! I hate those (obviously legally and ethically necessary) disclaimers on the internet saying “talk to your doctor about this!” I can rarely get doctors to engage in conversation with me let alone give me more than a shrug or a generic response when I have questions about supplements and nutrition. They won’t even answer my questions about potential biomechanics causing my pain. Plus it’s hard to see some doctors regularly, so you really have to make your own choices in your care rather than wait 3 months to ask a question about a supplement or conservative treatment method.
Spot on, they are definitely not up to date re peripheral neuropathy.
No point in talking to doctors about supplements they always tell me, I don't need supplements
That’s what they are trained to say, reflexively. Ask your pharmacist instead.
Then get another doctor. See my posting above. My GP, my neurologist and my cardiologist are all on board with, as my neurologist dubbed it, "My Cocktail".
My Dr said he is a western man. There's no proven studies that support vitamin supplements work. If there's no study, he don't believe in it. My neurologist says that's not true. Some vitamins he suggest I take for neuropathy are helping me. I feel doctors must get some type of deal prescribing some of the medicines out there.
Hard to believe Benfotamine wasn’t mentioned
It's not helping me but cbd drops that has tumeric in
I'm from S Africa it's called Relieve by Rethink Dischem Stores sell it my Lupus went into remission omega 3...1000 mg 2 x daily
Cod liver oil 2 x 2 x daily
Agree with you
You are just what I needed 💕🙏 I'm 75 and my hands are on fire.
Talking to your doctor is a waste of time as they don’t have a clue about supplementation
I am in UK, trying to see a doctor is near impossible. I have seriously considered an Ouji board to contact him that way. I have peripheral neuropathy, unfortunately I have medication for my heart which are sensitive to many of supplements. Turmeric is one I cannot take. I have not heard of ALA so I will check that out. This was still interesting. Good luck to you all.
What happens to you with taking turmeric ? Please tell your experience as I also take turmeric @ba-gg6jo
And my experience with ALA is good
Tumeric reduces the effectiveness of my heart meds according to my consultant.
I'm using R-Alpha Lipoic Acid and Curcumin for my burning feet. They've really helped cut down on pain meds.
How long did it take. I've been taking for bout two weeks haven't noticed change yet.
I take R-Alpha Lipolic acid and Lions Mane. Been 3 months. Noticeable improvement. Get quality supplements. 3rd party tested. Made in USA. Read the labels. USDA.
if you could get raw Curcumin in your country in the wet form not dried then you could use it for drinking in milk add a pinch of black pepper too it really helped me in decreasing my pain
Which brand of R-Alpha lipoic acid
Shouldn't that ALA start with an R? I thought ALA was synthetic whereas R-ALA was natural and absorbable?!
You are correct!
Yep
I was just going to say the same thing. R-ALA is the real deal. I think this fellow should have known that since he is proclaiming to be the expert.
@@FlexBicep Yep!
That's what I understand.
Every time I "talk to a doctor" they want to push a a new prescription medication on me. Doctors have my diabetic mother on 11 different prescription medicines. And she still feels awful. I'm not letting them do that to me. I'll take my chances with exercise, diet, nutrition and supplements.
4.3.2024 --- I was diagnosed with PN in 2016. It is really terrible. I feel the most pain when I go to bed. Sleeping with socks on helps alot. I'm on a lot of gabapentin. and just added amitriptyline. Which still isnt' helping. By Living is the suburbs and not doing a lot of walking I didn't know how bad it was until I went on a trip to Europe. The guide asked could we all walk about 20 minutes and we said yes. Well almost 3/4 into the walk the pain in my feet was unbearable. I was holding up the tour. Fast forward to a cruise. I rented a scooter and that was the best thing ever. -- My cousin just told me about ALA yesterday and here it is in your video. She said it helped her alot. 10:31 She also said to take it with B complex. I'm going to try it.
Pls let me to know how to order 5 supplements help me have the nerve disorder thank you God Bless you Amen
I was pre med.. this is spot on, mag glincinate, also help w sleep + relaxation.. tu for reinforceing. What I've studied, would like ini on sibo, gut detox, though I know u r spine, have long COVID, + neck, vagus nerve needs help🙏❤️
Great info .Thanks for sharing
Great information
I want to thank you for taking the time to make this video. I’ve been battling/ researching idiopathic PN in my toes for little over a year and a half now and this is the best information I’ve seen to date…. I’ve been trying the 600 mg of ALA for the last 6 months and I think it is has slowly reduced the severity of the burning sensation… its hard to say for sure because my symptoms only present if I’m active or I simply let my feet get to warm which means replicating the environmental conditions is difficult to control for… however taking a warm shower isn’t as bad as it once was…plus they seem to recover more quickly now.. but then again I’m now taking 75mg of Lyrica daily which has made a huge improvement in reducing the peak pain levels. I’m going to look into those supplements and boost my fish intake as well. If you ever have the time, I love to see a video explaining the connection between PN and hyperthyroidism…I see it often listed as a cause but I don’t understand the connection and most of the doctors I’ve spoken to seem to think there’s a connection in my situation…
I've had results combining RLA with high dose chelated magnesium and Lyrica. The omega 3s did nothing. But the Lyrica makes me dizzy and tired =(
Don’t use just ALA ,get RALA instead and also try vitamin b12 along with an EMS pad ,it worked wonders for me in I now can walk and stand for hours with NO pain👍
@@glennheaslip5376 , Thanks! Actually I recently added both of those, after a month using the EMS pad there seems to be some improvement… hard to say. Can I ask how much time do you typically set aside for a session? I need to be more disciplined and use it daily.
Love this video,i have burning sensation ,striking shocking like pain also severe pain unable to walk after sitting for a long time, this started approximately 2mths ago.
I know you HAVE to say that ('Talk to your Dr'), but we all know 95% of Dr's don't know didley about any of these supplements...they can probably get in trouble for even mentioning them.
@ba-gg6jo I have heavy neoropathie and cobined with RLS. Many Docs do not know what these pains are, most of them say, there is nothing what can help. Even in hospitals the staff and docs does not realy know what it is. I come from Gernany, North Rheine Westpalia.I am 73 , my night sleep is 1 hour, I am going crazy.
You are correct 😢
I am a patient of Peripheral Neuropathy from 2014
Only Gabaneuron 300mg and Libotryp 12.5mg help me
Thank you
You keep saying talk to my doctor before taking supplements. My doctor said don't take any supplements.Said to eat a bowl of Total cereal with milk! He said they spray vitamins on the cereal! That’s medical school training at its finest!
thanks for the information
Thank you one million times. 💪💯👍
Sir, many thanks.
Thank you so much very informative!
Is there any vitamins to prevent hands from shaking?
Thanks for the video. Does this info apply to PN in hands and arms?
Thank you for mentioning the side effect of arterial fibrillation with Omega 3. I've been taking Omega 3 for many years and just found out about the afib which I do have which was starting to get worse. I quit the Omega 3 and things have calmed down.
Iam 69 years old diagnosed with peripheral neurapathy forever. My Dr had me on so much Cymbalta and Lyrica for years never no relief.
Iam going to get the ALA supplement give it 30 days. I've had no life and after a major accident I have plates pins screw throughout both feet. My life is so miserable I truely hope this will give relief even some.😅
God help it work !
When I go out I take a 400.mg Ibrufen because sitting makes me stiff
I hope this has worked for
🩷
Make sure to use RALA as ALA is synthetic and of no use at all👍
Been on these supplements 1 month and seeing some improvement in pain in feet. Suffered for 5 years with neuropathy. B12 is also necessary and avoiding sugar to repair myelin. IMHO
Your information isa blessing. Thank you so very much. Before watching this, I started taking omega 3 in the form of flax seed oil. I’m already showing much improvement in my pain control. I am going to start your supplement recommendation immediately.
Thanks for the vidio.
Thanks. ❤
These medications can have a negative effect on certain people like me. I'd rather treat my Peripheral Neuropathy by just exercising and eating a healthy diet.
I found this very interesting as I have had this problem since an operation on my spine which has also left me with abad balance prolem so have to use a walking stick. The peripheral n. has been very painful in my feet up to my knees now and my left hand gets so painful it it wakes me up in the middle of the night and the pain is unbearable. Thank you for the information I will ask my doctor when I see him and may try suggestion of the drug you talk at the end of your talk if it is a supplement I can purchase I will try anything. Thank you.
Is there a way to get all of these in one supplement? Thanks.
I have been taking all of your mentioned supplements plus vitamin b12 methyl and of late used a ems foot massager which helped immensely 👍
Did you ever look at insulin levels and pherifial neuropathy? Improved blood flow from exercise & b complex helped to take feet numb to majority of feeling return. Also lately starting using the supplements you mentioned for other reasons: diabetes management and overall health care.😊
great
Another CZcams channel says with the Alpha Lipoic Acid it is important to take only R ALA. Allegedly the S ALA and the combo of R and S ALA will not work.
I don't know if that's true, or if there was some nefarious motive for making that allegation.
Thank you for your video. N-Acetal Cysteine is not available in my country. Is there an alternative to this supplement?
Order online: eBay or Amazon
Is eating walnuts just the same as taking an ALA supplement and giving the same health benefits? I've read that walnuts contain around 1.8 to 2.5 grams (1800 mg - 2500 mg) per 30 gram serving.
My neuro says, I have lumbosacral disc degeration causing bilateral S1 neuropathy, the physician does not recommend surgery but manages with medication that does not help. Sir what r ur recommendations??
Currently taking 3 of these supplements for general health, just need to be more consistent and avoid the occasional sugars and pastries.
Yeah, 'avoid the occasional sugars and pastries...', don't we all. Alot easier said than done. 🤐
What about R-ALA?
How about METANX SUPPLEMENT for Diabetic peripheral neuropathy?
Please add B vitamins and B 12 sublingual to support the nerves and myelin sheath.
The medications are very many. So just add to the list
Photobiomodulation probably also helped
For Alpha Lipoic Acid, does it matter whether it is R or S?
Would this also help with Trigeminal Neuralgia?
Please where is your video on spinal stenosis?
What about agmatine?
Vitamin D and Curcumin milk really helped me in decreasing my pain in fact it's too less to notice now, i also started to practice yoga it works wonders
Great video... good advice. I did a bunch of tests a while back and the doctors didn't really tell me much... I'm not diabetic apparently... they just give u a bottle of gabapentin & send u on your way lol Cheers-
So what brand of ALA and Curcumin do you recommend. It's hard to know who manufacturers quality products
All I know is get R liporic acid
Thanks
I take R-ALA and Benfotiamine, along with B-12/B-6 and the other supplements mentioned in the video. I've also gone keto and started taking Berberine to get my insulin and blood glucose levels down. The neuropathy has definitely improved! I think each one of these things (plus a few other supplements I'm taking) are all working together to help my overall health because I feel much better, I actually have the energy to exercise, and have lost about 20 pounds. BTW, if you're not familiar with Berberine, I encourage you to research it, because it has many health benefits, and hyperinsulinemia over many years is why many people end up with NP in the first place. So it can help address what may be the root problem, at least for some people. I also saw one person in the comments mentioned they've seen noticeable results adding Lion's Mane, which I've actually recently been reading about, so I think I will try adding it to the mix!
Your #1 is apha lipoic acid ? but the regular ALA OR R- ALA ? SOME VIDEOS SAY R-ALA IS WAY BETTER ? WHICH IS TRUE ? THANKS
I take the r-lipoic acid which I have heard other people recommend above ala.
Has to be R-ALA
R-ALA and ONLY R-ALA. Make certain it contains no S-ALA or RS-ALA as these are synthetic and counterproductive. They’re cheaper to produce and manufacturers try to pass them off as the real thing but it’s a scam. Only R ALA actually works.
R-ala
To johnanderson: Hello from Texas 🙋🏻♀️…where can I buy R-ala ?
How can you ignore Benfotiamine ? this is almost criminal
what about benfotiamine?
It should've also been up there.
I take the R-ALA version (Immunovites brand off Amazon) But .... I cannot take more than 300mg at a time without
feeling sick. After watching this video I plan to take 300mg twice a day. I take the other items mentioned in this video, along with Benfotiamine, as someone else mentioned here. When I added in Lions Mane about a month ago, the pain in my feet went from about a 7 to a 4. (DoubleWood brand) I had felt like the ball of my left foot had a marble under it when I walked. I no longer feel that. I went to the VA hospital in St Pete, FL this morning to see the Neurologist about my peripheral neuropathy. He prescribed Topamax, which has been around for many years. He is starting me on a very low dose to see if that is all I need. He appreciates all the natural supplements route, and he is going to look into Lions Mane for himself and his other patients. Lions Mane has growth hormones, and can heal nerves.
Hope you are feeling better. About the ALA (R Type), are you taking it on an empty stomach? I’ve read it should be taken 3 hours before / after eating. I’m taking mine at bedtime.
@@craigmichelson8552 great question. I actually get serious heartburn if I take ALA or the better version, R-ALA on an empty stomach. I can take 600mg as long as I take it immediately after eating a meal. I had been taking just 300mg at a time due to the heartburn issue. Funny thing about taking a lot of supplements for a given issue like peripheral neuropathy .... when you feel a lot better, you can't say which supplement actually helped! All I can say is that I was taking R-ALA for several weeks, and had not noticed a significant change. My feet still hurt. Then I added DoubleWood brand of Lions Mane, and within about two weeks the pain was about 50% less, and about two weeks beyond that, I could actually walk fast again through the store and elsewhere. Today it is something like 80 to 90% better than it was about two months ago. I have also been doing some exercises that are supposed to help. Basically you are seated on a chair, and then lift just your toes for about a count to 10 or 20. You then lift you heel, keeping toes on floor, and again, for a count from 10 to 20. The other exercise is with legs extended, and with heels on floor, point toes away from you in a stretch. You can stretch out fingers / arms at the same time. Again a count of 10 to 20. Then point toes towards you, same count ... and can make hands into a fist. I've been doing those exercises along with all the supplements. So maybe it all works together
All my doc says gabapaten they dont know their selves.😮
Interesting video BUT As for ALA you should have mentioned that the R type is tho only one to take and that it must be able to be adsorbed. Also that there a lot of scam ALA products sold that do NOTHING to help. If you are going to offer advice you should be more complete in doing so!
Where is your office located?
Princeton, NJ
nac + capsaine + alphalipoic acid type r + gluthathion + vitamin c acerola natural + vitamine b benfothiamine, methylocolabamine .... cost for me a lot of money !!
True , but they prove their efficiency on the long run
You never answered my question from 1 month ago ? ALA OR R-ALA ? COMMON MAN,,,,
R-ALA 💯 @tigeralderman283
Yes, check that the ingredient content table lists only R ALA and no other forms of it, like S ALA. As any other form reduces the effect that of R.
R-ALA
R-ALA (🥵 As you've been waiting for so long, why not checking other credible sites on peripheral neuropathy? They all say the same thing namely R-ALA.
Take it easy man, and it will propably hurt a lot less.
😶🌫️ Good Luck !
Doctors are not paid to give advice on natural remedies 🤣
the ala he mentions is the synthetic version. and does 0 good. you want R-ALA.
He missed one, l glutamine works great for neuropathy. Take a heaping teaspoon a day and in a few days you will see it works
1:18
Let's be real. Even if you pay your doctor a visit to ask him about all these supplements he's not going to know any more than anyone else whether or not you should take them that's ridiculous
I get more pain from neuropathy when I eat beans
Thanks ask my kidney doctor
This Dr doesn't reply to even some comments...
I want to see a u tube doctor who he will tell me this . I don’t know get out of here eat letters every two days That’s my doctor
Hmmm! Letters are delicious! 😆
