    RECOMMENDED SUPPLEMENT FROM VIDEO: amzn.to/3emWDU6
    ==========================================================
The burning, stabbing, throbbing, pins and needles feeling that comes along with peripheral neuropathy can drive a person nuts! What if there was an easy way to get some relief, that would be amazing right? I’m Dr AJ Ludlow and I’ve been treating neuropathy in my clinic for a while now and I’ve found some things that work. In this video I’m going to tell you about a supplement that really helps and even has some research to back it up.
Neuropathy is a big deal and can lead to some serious complications down the road. The main symptoms are numbness, tingling, burning, pins and needles, throbbing, prickling and weakness in the feet and the lower legs. It generally starts in the toes and progresses into more of the foot then starts working its way up the lower leg. The number one cause of peripheral neuropathy is diabetes, especially uncontrolled diabetes. Chemotherapy and some medications can also be a cause but we don’t always know why it happens.
Neuropathy can cause a lot of problems. When it begins is just a mild annoyance but can soon become more of a problem causing loss of sleep, weakness and balance problems. It causes wounds to heal more slowly and since it can cause a loss of sensation in the feet a wound can develop that becomes infected and in some cases will lead to the loss of toes, the foot or even more of the lower leg. The balance issues tend to get worse over time and can lead to a fall and injury that requires hospitalization.
There are multiple things you can do to help improve your neuropathy like keeping your blood sugar in a healthy range, getting regular exercise, eating a healthy diet with minimal sugar and processed foods, lots of protein and healthy fats, fruits and vegetables, and intermittent fasting. These things are important, but they can take some time to start implementing. Fortunately there is a supplement that can start providing quick relief in many cases and can help slow the progression of the neuropathy. It even has some science to back it up.
The supplement is called alpha lipoid acid. It’s an anti-oxidant that the body naturally produces and can be found in small amounts in food. It can help reduce inflammation and helps support healthy nerves. One of the ways it does this is by supporting the mitochondria which is the part of our cells that produces energy. While it won’t cure neuropathy, it can greatly reduce the symptoms and slow the progression of the condition. This can be a big deal because a lot of my patients with neuropathy complain that they don’t want to walk much and can’t sleep well because of the discomfort from neuropathy. If we can lessen the symptoms it will help you sleep better and be more active which greatly improves quality of life.
A study of 72 people with diabetic neuropathy published in 2018 showed a lot of benefit. They took 600 mg a day of alpha lipoid acid for 40 days and at the end of the study pain and disability scores were significantly lower, quality of life scores were significantly higher and about 50% of the participants rated their health as much better or very much better. Not bad when you consider all they did was take a daily supplement. This and other studies definitely show promise for neuropathy sufferers. While this supplement is considered safe and is generally tolerated much better than neuropathy medications, its best to consult with your doctor when adding a new supplement to your diet.
For those who are interested, I’ll put a link for the type of alpha lipoic acid I give to my patients in the description.
I wish you the best with your neuropathy, it’s not a fun condition to deal but there is hope for improvement. If this has been helpful, hit that LIKE button and be sure to SUBSCRIBE for more health related videos. Until next time, stay strong!

Try massaging in castor oil (add a couple of drops of frankincense oil to it in your hand and mix.) Then rub on your feet. Read about castor oil - it relieves pain, has many benefits, and also carries things into the body (ie the painkilling frankincense). Also lack of magnesium can cause foot pain (cramps). Spray on magnesium oil and rub in. Epsom salts foot bath. Also try a multi magnesium supplement (5 kinds of magnesium in 1 tablet) as there are 5 kinds of magnesium and not all help. I'm not a doctor, but I researched online, and these things helped me. I also gave up sugar and wheat, and eat dark greens daily. And play padel (like pickle ball!) Good luck!

My thighs were numb and have remained so. GP and neurologist couldn't offer me any solutions. It was like that all this time, until I started taking alpha lipoic acid. I couldn't even walk around the block without discomfort a couple of weeks ago, but today I took my neighbour's dog on a one-hour walk, partially over pretty rough ground, and I had no aching, no tiredness in my legs.

NO PAIN, occasionally some slight tingling at night, sometimes nothing. It only took about 3 weeks b4 i starting noticing a positive change

However, I would never purchase his products because he donates most of the profit to the church of Scientology which is a ideology I cannot, in good conscience, support. Thank you so much for responding, Jeff. Your info makes a lot of sense. I did work for some naturopaths some time back and learnt a lot from them, and that GPs usually seem to work in the 'bandaid' way; they don't try to get to the bottom of what is not right in the body that causes all these things. I live in the country so am limited in my health services, but would love to find a Functional Doctor as they are trained in both GP type medicine and also a more holistic way of working.
As I also have inflammatory bowel disease I am very careful about what I take, and have sensitivity to a lot of products, even skin and hair products. The other issue is my MTHFR which means my mitochondrial function is not great and therefore my uptake of certain things, B12 and the processing of folic acid is inhibited, plus a lot of other effects, so absorption is a problem, so I tend to get my vitamins in an oil base.
I will try your recommendations, but will take it a few steps at a time. I have an autoimmune leukaemia so I don't like to shock my system. I am on an immunosuppressant as well, I have to be careful.
I have taken Gabapentin in the past and it saved me. For some reason I ended up with pain throughout my whole body, to the point where I couldn't turn over in bed, or tie up my hair, without help. It was so painful, and my daughter thought she would have to put me in a home if it didn't go away. Tried lots of pain killers, even morphine patches, all did nothing, but then my doctor said to try one more thing, Gabapentin, and it worked wonders. Within a couple of days I felt better.
Be aware though, you do need to be careful with it as it comes with side effects, and hence I have not gone back on it.
Sometimes when there are so many things going on you don't know which is the chicken and which is the egg, as our bodies are not all separate bits, they all depend on each other, so it's hard to tell which to treat, especially with medications.
I'll go slowly. I know I have to improve my gut bacteria, due to my whole life of gut issues, so plan Number one, not easy but I don't think much else is going to help unless I get this sorted out a bit.
I am hesitant about the carnivore diet as from everything I have read and watched, to have good gut bacteria you need fibre, fibre, fibre, and without vegetables and some fruits, how do you build that.
Anyway, as I said, one step at a time, but it was great getting everybody's inputs, very interesting.

Hi Jen, Jeff here again. I just put in an order for vitamin B 1 off of Amazon. I've been reading up on it and a lot of people say it helps with diabetes problems having to do with the nerves so I'm going to give it a try. I haven't had much of a problem for awhile now but it can't hurt to take a 100 mg tablet every day. I could take more but more doesn't always help and if it helps that's good. If not can take more. Check out some videos on it. You might also try bitter melon. It's been used in Asian countries for a long time as a treatment for diabetes. I just tried some today and the taste leaves much to be desired but I mixed it with other foods to mask most of the taste. Check that out also. It's said to be a very healthy food. I started using virgin olive oil on many of my foods as it slows down the processing of carbs so they don't spike and is good for you anyway. I also learned about cinnamon being good for slowing down carb spikes. Ceylon cinnamon is good, but stay away from Saigon cinnamon as it's said not t be real cinnamon and can be toxic if you use too much. I got mine off of Amazon for a lower price and most stores carry Saigon.

Alpha lipoic acid (ALA) and R-lipoic acid are two forms of the same compound, but they have some differences in terms of their chemical structure and biological activity.
R-lipoic acid is the natural, biologically active form of lipoic acid, while ALA is a mixture of R-lipoic acid and S-lipoic acid (the synthetic form). R-lipoic acid is believed to be more effective in the body because it is the form that is directly involved in various metabolic processes.
When it comes to choosing between the two for healthy living, many experts recommend R-lipoic acid due to its superior bioavailability and biological activity. R-lipoic acid is believed to have better antioxidant properties and may be more readily absorbed and utilized by the body compared to ALA.
