Very nice explanation .i have another question is it ok to start insulin based on bodybweight for example body weight 100 kg . Like 0.6 ×100 =60 units So 2/3(30/70) 40 units in morning mixed of nph and shortacting and 1/2 (50/50) 20 units in evening mixture of short acting and nph in secondary OHA failure or microvascular damage ? Is my calculation correct?
I am a doctor mbbs 1967 batch first year.Diabetic ,hypothyroid ,htsn,prostate bph, and irritable bowl syndrome ,practicing in a remote village for the last 48years.Now shifted to insulin 30/70Biphadic ...30 iu.in the morning and 20 iu in the evening.Now under control.Any advice for me doctors of learned standard?

Why you want to give two type of the mixed insulin?

Is regular insulin given by IM or Iv route in hospital?
