    Wayne, Jouni is correct. The lid past the hinge will hit the box side and not open. Hinge leaf on box needs to be on outside surface. Perhaps recess in and stainable wood filler over it.
    Besides that, the details are phenomenal.

    Hello Wayne, great video mate, the Orca is really coming on, I love all your builds, the Star Wars ones are my favourites but I think it's the Orca build that is No.1 now, really like the miniature details, brilliant, Lee.

    Wayne that model is simply incredible, the attention to detail that you have managed is astounding, your cave, your skills, your followers, your world have come a long way and you are creating some special stuff. I just wondered if you've ever thought about tackling a large scale diorama, maybe a classic movie scene, I'm sure your skills could create an awesome scene

  • @TheModelGamer
    @TheModelGamer Před 2 lety +2

    If I were doing this build, I look at it like there's 3 major scenes with the Orca that are the most memorable. The first scene with the shark ("You're gonna need a bigger boat"), the scene where the shark pulls the boat backwards after being hit with 3 barrels, and the final scene when the shark jumps out of the water onto the boat, kills Quint, and gets blown up by Brody. (And, yes, someone COULD argue the fishing line scene is important too, but that's just more tense inducing than memorable).
    Obviously, you're not making the destroyed boat, so that leaves out the 3rd spot. So, if it were me, I'd probably pick the scene from "You're gonna need a bigger boat", and that's for a few reasons. #1, they actually do a lot of shots of all parts of the boat. Breaking it down, you have Brody on the back chumming, then going into the cabin shocked, then all 3 of them on the stern deck looking at the shark, Quint in the cabin getting his gun ready and talking to Mrs. Brody, Hooper and Brody at the bow ("Foreground, my ass!"), Quint putting the first barrel into the shark...and then it segues PERFECTLY to the extended sequence inside the cabin, where you can get the details for the cabin. So, if I were going to pick one scene from the movie to focus on for making this, it'd be that one.
    (And yes, I've watched this movie WAY too many times that I know all this.)

    • @WorldofWayneUK
      @WorldofWayneUK  Před 2 lety

      Definitely , I think after this build I will finally get to watch the first half of the movie as most of the time I just jump to when they are on the boat so I can get reference pics lol

    • @TheModelGamer
      @TheModelGamer Před 2 lety

      @@WorldofWayneUK yeah, I always remember when the movie came on TV, I usually wanted to catch it from there as a kid. It wasn't until later that I realized how effect NOT seeing the shark was for half the movie. And now, I can appreciate how they had to do that due to technical reasons, and probably made something that much scarier as a result. Because oftentimes what you DON'T see is scarier than what you DO see.

    I really shouldn't kibitz until you've got the weathering done, but I think the rungs on the mast are too perfect. Could you angle or bend a couple so they don't line up so perfectly?

    Looking great especially seeing as you got those brass replacements. Were those made out of steel in movie or copper? I honestly don’t remember. Great idea for chum buckets back then I think they were same size as white pickle buckets or they would’ve been metal but real fish skin never would’ve thought of that as long as they’re completely dry for resin should turn out good. Also when you start weathering is decking gonna have a dirt trail/slightly darker spots showing the most walked paths that are used or spots where hands are touching painted railings or doors? I think that would look cool if you could do that 😁 that’s a lot of work even without that can’t wait for next update 👍👍👍
