      Usually when working with lg phones, the screen does not come off like the ones in iPhones, we must take off the back in order to have access to the phone's front screen.

    I have a G8 but same procedure. This is the best video I have seen for the front screen glass replacement. I was surprised how easily she removed the battery. Great video and I saved time and money doing it myself. Look on ebay for the parts. I bought the screwdrivers and tweezer set at Dollar Tree. You can find the gorilla glass screen on ebay for $120 - $150, or fixez.com for $169. Right now the corona virus has the plant shutdown where screens are made and I was told by a few of the franchise repair shops they could not even get the new screen. They quoted me $269 - $400 if they could get a replacement screen. Thanks guys! You drove me to DIY and and saved me a ton of money and more importantly time. LG repair quoted me a 2 week turnaround time for the repair...yeah right...2 weeks without my phone? Crazy, right? Thanks again for posting this easy to follow video!!!

      @EL SHNASTO That's great "dude". But you don't say where to get such a great deal on an unlocked G-8 Thin Q. Since it seems you keep dropping them (G-7's) and breaking them you need a good supply chain.LOL

Seems like everything internal worked, so I replaced the screen and back cover using the items you recommended. It's a success!!!! I will say I had to use the buttons from the old phone and also that long copper strip that sits to the left of the battery. Were those items that should have been included with my new screen?

      While it does work we do not recommend that you submerge it as the phone is not damaged due to having a cover over the important components it is still at risk of failing, but if it is ever broken then there is no way of restoring. We do our best to seal and have no openings when repairing these devices.

      LCD with frame would be easier to install as it has all the components needed to just connect the screen, the one without the frame would be much harder to install as it would just provide the screen and you would need to purchase frame to attach the screen to it. @Steve Pause the video at, let's say - 3:34. You see that long, vertical, thin, shiny brass thing inside the phone, to the left? With 2 black squares on it? In the old phone it's gooped up a little with a thermal paste (that grey stuff). That's the heat pipe.
      They come in all shapes and sizes, they are in almost all electronics - it's usually a metal (brass in this case) pipe, with some kind of liquid inside it, designed to conduct heat from a hot component (processor) to a heatsink/radiator (the screen itself in this case), in order to dissipate heat, and they are great at it.
      She made a very rookie mistake (or just didn't care) - she should have cleaned the old thermal paste from the motherboard, and apply fresh one. It's very easy and dirt cheap to do, but has very big consequences usually. Bad ones in this case, since she didn't do it.

    Where is the anti-static glove ou device? Where is the thermal paste on the mainboard? Where is the compressed air before close the cellphone? This is a complete amateur service!

      I was cringing at all the tweezer use. Very dangerous. Plastic spudger works just as well and wont have high risk of tearing flex cables.

    and for that shit they charge 250$???

    • @AndrewGistKlaxMaster
      @AndrewGistKlaxMaster Před 4 lety

      actually a bunch of the cost is the parts., Because it is not just a screen.
      its an LCD+Digitizer+Glass+buttons+light sensor+Heatsink.
      If you wanted just the glass, the labor gets more intensive and would probably cost more

    • @ezrepairs974
      @ezrepairs974  Před 3 lety

      The reason why we charge this is because there are not just the purchase of the part but also the installation and transfer onto the new screen.

      It looks worth 250$ to me! If I tried to do it myself I would end up having to buy a new phone!
