In talking more with her, she gave me all the woke talking points about minorities and people of color, and also found a place to discuss my white privilege. When I pushed back on the white privilege part, she asked, “How would I know, not having lived as a POC (Person of Color)? These young kids are receiving indoctrinations. I’m afraid the Dems will steel this one too, sadly.

Yep, this is what the internet was meant to give us. Two very bright and wise individuals sharing their well-informed thoughts and experiences on a variety of topics, all of which tie together. No bells, whistles, special effects, music background, expensive sets, sound equipment, cameras, bloated staff, and, of course, big corporate sponsors to tell them what to and not to say. As bare bones as it gets, and completely riveting for an entire hour.

The view from my vantage point: There’s a lot of drug addiction out there. A lot of people are in debt. Everyone is looking for a better job as if a $5000 raise is going to fix all their problems. People are very ignorant. They have no concept of history. “Successful” people are deracinated. The successful people have moved to areas of high employment opportunity, but as a result have cut themselves off from their extended families. Religious people seem to be doing better both fiscally and psychologically. There are a lot of miserable old maids everywhere.
A book I'd recommend for the great depression is "The Great Depression a Diary, Benjamin Roth, Mr. Roth was a Lawyer in Youngstown Ohio in 1929. He documented in his Diary daily happens. He does mention different stocks and other assets that were doing well and also other assets that didn't do so well during the years.

Almost like they feel it's guaranteed these indulgences will become inaccessible to them in the future.
