    *EDIT: You have to DESELECT Foliage Transparency to get the recommended setting. FACEPALM* - thanks @Saffron Blaze
    It just dawned on me that I forgot to mention anonymizer.
    Anecdotally I have found that with my statistics and clan tag, running the anonymizer has resulted in less artillery focus, and fewer yolos from opposing teams.
    I have no data so support this opinion however, so I would suggest you experiment turning the setting on and off so you can decide for yourself if this setting improves detracts or doesn't impact your in game experience. Good Luck!

      I'm confused about the foliage transparency setting. My understanding is if it is checked (on) then the bushes become transparent when you are within 15m. then opaque when you are more than 15m behind them. Isn't this the desired setting? I would like to be able to see through the bushes for aiming and also to know when I am far enough back to have camo after firing.
      Why would you want to deselect foliage transparency?

      Nice comment... I paused the video before he even got to the setting and tried it out. Wow, what a difference! With it on, a flick of the mouse moved the pointer at least 3 times further than with it off. I've always felt something was inconsistent with the mouse in the game and could never figure out what it was. I won't play until this weekend, but I wonder if I will no longer need the sniper button (reduced sensitivity) on my mouse.

      @@13Disciple My biggest issue was accurate shots. I think unselecting the Windows Enhanced Pointer Precision made a big difference. I'd watch videos online and see how smooth and steady the reticle was and mine bounced all over and was hard to track a moving target - not anymore. Also the zoom out makes decisions on flanking and poking a corner sooo much easier to make, I had no idea how others were so good at poking a corner, now I get it. The other item I really like now is the white reticle, it's soo much easier to see and pay attention to when I'm busy. I didn't think white would work well until I saw it on the video. Two items I want to use that didn't turn on with Aslain's modpack was the minimum sense range circle and the seen/unseen indicators, not sure why but the minimum circle doesn't show up on the mini map and the seen indicators don't show up next to the player panel but they are selected in the modpack.... I'll have to play with it more, probably an incompatibility with something else. Thanks again, this really helped.

      @@13Disciple Ok, so in 2 days I went from about a 45% to getting my first mark of excellence in my BC-12-T. That's my first mark on any tank. I get that's easy for many but without changing the settings and using some of the tools available it was getting horribly frustrating. Now I feel I'm playing on a level playing field and my success is showing that even if my overall win percent is not going up... I've have a run of bad luck with teams. I feel like I want to send the link to this video in my games... lol

  • @ericandi
    @ericandi Před 3 lety +2

    There is also a mod available where whenever you hit a pre-determined key, a 15 meter circle goes around your tank which shows you how far back you need to be from foliage to not lose the camo value of the foliage while firing. The mod is good to use whenever you are in a situation where you would prefer to fire while in arcade mode and not in sniper mode because the only way you can see the 15 meter circle is when you are in arcade mode and whenever you are in sniper mode, you can determine the 15 meter distance by using this foliage transparency trick. Whenever the foliage turns opaque, you know that your 15 meters behind the foliage and can safely fire.

  • @LarsBars17
    @LarsBars17 Před 3 lety +2

    Great video! One tip however, I believe that 3D render resolution means something different than the explanation you gave.
    Usually in games, 3D rendering resolution refers to the rendering resolution of the 3D game world. So if you have a 1440p monitor, but your video card isn't strong enough, you can lower the 3D render resolution to 75%, which will render the game world at 1080p, and since your resolution is still set to 1440p, your minimap and HUD and user interface will still look nice and sharp because those are at full resolution. I would suggest sliding the slider all the way to the left to see what it looks like! I use this setting on my laptop to get more performance out of my integrated graphics.

    I was randomly crashing in Randoms whenever I turned anti aliasing on in the game options, but then I found I could turn off AA in game BUT turn on a lot of visual improvement via the AMD graphic card software options without crashing.
    I did try asking why this might be in AMDs tech support and got no answers. And the little google research I could find suggested this AA crashing may be a Mobo North-bridge cooling issue. So what my fix did was bypass the North-bridge (I think) and put the load (heat) directly into the card which was in theory able to run WoT at ultra settings.

      Tessellation makes a 2d texture (such as the ground surface) appear 3 dimensional. I've played with turning it on and off, and found that it did not significantly impact my game play. I leave it turned on for the prettier textures. Basically it means the silhouette edges of a polygon mesh might be rendered out, when in fact the hit box may not be.

    Question about the penetration indicator:
    I'm an old time player from a couple of years back about to return and back then it used to be the chance to penetrate the RAW armor thickness if I recall correctly. Meaning you would have to guess - based on the angling of the enemy tank - if you stand a chance of penetrating or not.
    Did this really change to EFFECTIVE (@16:33) armor which would include the enemies current angling?

This is something that I and looking for a while and when someone makes a video is too superficial. Thanks for the help! What dpi setting do you like? I have my set to 700dpi and 900dpi

    • @13Disciple
      @13Disciple  Před 3 lety +1

      My DPI is set to 2400. You can set your DPI sensitivity high and then reduce your mouse sensitivity in windows to make it more sensitive to small movements.

    You should consider switching to HP Left / Total on enemy HP bars. It can be useful for determining if a tank has a stock turret or top turret before ever being able to see them.

    • @13Disciple
      @13Disciple  Před 4 lety +2

      Hm, that's a valid point. I honestly keep the HP Left / Total on using mods. I will say that even a player of my caliber, if you gave me a hit point value I don't think I could tell you if the tank was stock or not. It usually takes seeing the alpha damage, or the actual appearance of the turret to know if a tank is at a disadvantage. I appreciate this input! :)

    I've seen on the web that most games use raw input, so are not affected by the Windows mouse acceleration setting (Enhanced Mouse Precision).

    There is so much information for one game. I dont know what is outdated and what is pc only or console only. It makes research difficult.

    vert sinc and triple buffering turned on matches refresh rate of monitor which is 60mhz which gives me 60 fps. My gpu + cpu operate fine. I turn those off and my fps goes to approximately 180 - 200+ fps my gpu goes to100% and cpu goes to 90%+ and temps rise quickly. You should have noted this in video because if it is turned off performance of gpu and cpu go nuts. I see you have it off. How can you do that without gpu and cpu going nuts? My video card is a NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 so is no slouch. So on older systems having vert sinc and triple buffering off could really affect game play. Please let me know if I am missing big picture or my observations are correct. Thx, I watch you on Twitch whenever I can!

      My PC has a high refresh monitor (165hz) and it has a G-sync capability. In order for G-Sync to work you need to disable standard vertical sync.
      Your computer shouldn't be over heating even with stock coolers. My PC is a custom water cool loop, but my GPU runs 90-100% load, and my CPU is maybe 10%. GPU typically doesn't exceed 35C.
      Technically you aren't getting any frames faster if your monitor is running at 60hz, but if you uncap your framerate, even if your frame is still only rendered 60hz, the frames you are seeing are 'newer' than if you capped it at 60hz.
      If you want a more in depth explanation, stop in my stream and ask about it sometime. Happy to talk computer specs and frame rates anytime.

    Imagive having effects 100. I have it on like 15 and still when I get shot at while inside zoom my ear drums gets blown up. I would have to have effects on 5 to have normal sounding received hits, but then I don't hear any other effetcs. My own gun would literally be silent, but received hits would be normal. That is also annoying. I just don't get why after years of this issue WG still has not made separate "received hits" slider.
