bag of holding is a mixed bag (pun intended), some swear by it, for others its to slow for what it does.
also no mention of Fiery Temper as wincon/removal :( or the honorary 40th Madness card Street Wraith (befor MH2, as the video isnt including those)

I would love to see a deck tech on tatyova, especially the different ways they can win with mystic sanctuary

@@uphillwalrus5164 aesi has a land advantage over tatyova. It is almost identical but if compared side by side there is literally no reason to not choose aesi other than attempting tribal with tatyova.

@@uphillwalrus5164 granted. However it's by 1 mana, in a ramp deck. Your 99 should make that a non-issue in most games. Not to mention aesi has twice as many land fall draw triggers due to being able to play an extra land. I definitely prefer aesi if I'm not building for a life gain.

Yeah I love the deck cause it is agressive and relativly cheap (mana base and lots of slots being filled my madness). Hope the new madness toys make her good
Great video! I also have a filter anya and something many people dont know is many weird madness carts have some really unic interaction that can solve and control many situations, so only dumb all your madness carts if you know you can win, otherwise you are wasting responses.

The other day I was playing my friend's Anje deck....and on turn two he casted a cursed totem. Fun.
Why would he cast Cursed Totem as Anje? Doesn't that stop her ability?
Technically, the ability to untap herself is a triggered ability. The static ability is her having naturally haste.
The clarifying is supposed to be helpful when beginning players struggle with the large number of rules.

I added twincaster combo to my Anje List as another wincon and dockside doubler
With the arrival of modern horizons too the madness count has actually increased not sure what the final say is on what we are actually running as far as the new madness card but I'm pretty sure the primer has been updated

You don't want to use Avacyn's Judgement to win most of the time because it can be defecting swatted.

I only use the judgement combo when i have heavy protection and somehow cant enact my eldrazi cycle
I mean for the most part thats probably true, but there can be several reasons for playing it. Mainly if (as D expressed) the reshuffle cards are removed, or if you had to use the dockside curio combo due to rip or leyline of the void being on the battlefield. And since you are using both deflecting swat and tibalts as well you are probably pretty safe.
The odds of someone having that in hand is not likely.
I am running 42 madness atm, but thinking of going for 45 (all of them), I havent got my hands on one older madness card yet and 2 of new mh2 cards yet.
I would love to see a video on the karak / sakashima deck. I made one and played it against my anje deck with my brother and karak and sakashima looping deflecting swat changing the target of my reanimates keeping me from returning the dragon was crazy also made removing karak with dmg spells alot harder had to use a divided dmg spell targeting every creature even anje dealing 2dmg each so he couldn't change the targets off all the karaks

I've built a less greedy version of Anje, sporting less madness cards for higher card quality. Anje can equip Paradise Mantle to generate free mana out of wheel effects with her untap triggers for sneaky responses. The Dualcaster / Twinflame combo is important to make sure you don't just lose the game to graveyard hate. I also run another 'combo' to exploit the crazy amount of value you generate from Shadow of the Grave and Bag of Holding, with Bone Miser. Each discard will either make more mana, make free 2/2s, or get free gas. Goes a little slower than traditional filter Anje, but has more staying power imo

Cut to Ribbons or even Exsanguinate is amazing. Also a fun way to kill people is Sunscorched Desert as well. I've been playing this deck for awhile and it has a high win rate. If you have any questions about my build I can answer them.

Sunscorched desert isnt needed since you can draw your entire deck and reshuffle as much as you want.

Something that I noticed is that your list does not run Merchant of the Vale // Haggle, which is a great substitute to Anje, since it has an activated ability that does not require tapping. If you are neting 4 mana with the Dragon (being 2 red), it provides you the same filter ability.
The version in the primer is arguably the most optimal one. It does indeed contain Merchant of the Vale // Haggle.

Great deck tech! I have a lower power version of Anje which I use for regular EDH games, but I was getting more and more interesting in trying cEDH one day.
P.S. Her static ability is Haste. Her untapping herself is a triggered ability. I was a bit surprised when you repeated that it's a static one twice :)

We need a black enchantment that gives madness to all cards in you hand.
Maybe in the new vampire based innistrad set later this year? There's already a creature that gives all your vampires madness, so there's some precedent for it
I think it wouldn’t be bad for red decks to start running the new 2 drop rock that can make things into an artifact, as they are easy to destroy in red
as a finisher I prefer Pyromatics since it is much more reliable against counter magic
I think that Kroxa is the better commander for the Worldgorger Dragon combo
10:35 How does it not shut this down completely? These cards explicitly state that "Each opponent/player cannot draw more than one card each turn". Discarding and DRAWING with Anje is still a.... DRAW ....

Another useful combo that you can use in this deck is Glint-Horn Buccaneer + Library of leng +Anje for infinite burn with a madness card in your hand
I'm rather curious if PwP would make a Tatyova cedh deck tech as I'm attempting to make one minus some Reserved List cards.

I don't see any of the new madness cards from modern horizons 2. 7 new madness cards in anjes colors were added. Would you recommend adding them, increasing the madness cost to 46, or stay at 39 and just swap a few out?
I also think streetwraith is a great card to add. I always had it as a 40th madness card since it lets you cycle for nothing.
Some cards will be swapped, but I wouldn’t go over 40 madness.

We aren’t. Everyone else has done them to death, so there isn’t really anything we will provide that hasn’t already been said.

Tap Anje for activated ability. ---- Discard Alm's of the Vein into exile. --- In exile, Play AotV madness cost by tapping one black mana --- Opponent loses three life, i gain three life. Cool. ---- AotfV goes from exile into my graveyard --- Untap Anje ---- Draw a Card. / Draw Ulamog --- Tap Anje --- Discard Ulamog --- Ulamog shuffles all GY cards into my library --- AotV now in library, somewhere in there --- Hope and pray I get an infinite amount of Madness cards, an infinite amount of times, to shuffle through my deck to cast AotV an inifinite amount of times???? What am I missing?
Ulamog goes from GY to library as well. Lets say, I use up all my madness "Discard, untap, draw a card" to get the Ulamog, and no AotV. Now what?

I'm sorry..I understand the infinite mana with the world gorger and animate dead...but Anja's ability says I must discard a card first then draw a card...what if I don't have any cards to discard? Doesn't seem like the way to go for a win.

I know this might sound dumb but does running piranha marsh as an infinite ping for the combo makes sense if an opponent has a rule of law effect?
Some builds run Sunscorched Desert. It doesn't enter tapped, which is helpful if you still need to generate mana.

Pre MH2, there are 40 cards with madness in Anje's colors. Is there a reason that this deck only has 39 of them? Which card didn't make the cut?
the real question is why its not not running the new Madness cards from MH2
@@scottsoto9848 because the list hasn't been updated yet, obviously. MH2 has been legal for 5 days, and technically doesn't even officially release until this Friday
I love madness and Anje, but I freaking hate that ugly dragon, I am waiting for the Innistrad sets this year to give this deck a competitive win con that does not completely rely on worldgorger.

I don't understand How the combo Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre and Alms of the Vein work, If Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre go back to the librairy with Alms of the Vein after the graveyard. How it's possible to play again Alms of the Vein.
I think anje was decent when it came out. but Im not so sure now. most people play blue, and every competitive blue deck plays hullbreecher which is a big shutdown for your card filtering. that combined with some other draw shutdowns in the format right now makes me feel like it's subpar.
which is sad because I love anje.
She has quite a few answers to Hullbreacher, not only from the normal interaction, but just the Madness cards themselves.
@@PlayingWithPowerMTG you are right, there is definitely counterplay and I like that. I just think having to spend resources to remove the hatepieces slows you down, and with an already fragile combo that is made to be quick I'm not sure you can afford that and still be competitive.
That said, I don't have the money or friends to play competitive with, so all my information of the format is from channels like yours, so you guys have way more experience than me. if you say it is fine I will yield my argument.
