Excellent ranking… this band was on top the world in the 80s that's very true… agree Mick is very underrated as a guitarist and he pretty much does the heavy lifting all by himself on the axe, no second guitarist to fill in. Theater of Pain is one I've visited the most, something about it!

  • @jimmyr204

Corabi's album with the band finally gets some credit years later with fans. Very underrated. I remember buying it the day it was released. There was also a coupon in there to order the rare Quaternary EP. Saw them touring over the years for Girls Girls Girls, Dr. Feelgood, and Generation Swine / Greatest Hits. Tough to pick a favorite, but I'd lean towards Shout At The Devil.

I really enjoyed this video! Very interesting take on Motley Crue ranking. I was sixteen when Girls, Girls, Girls came out and it was the first Motley Crue album I bought - the rest I had were cassette tape copies. My favorite, at that time was "Shout at the Devil".

Great vid man - probably my fave you've done so far. I agree for the most part, you've got pretty good taste! I totally agree regarding Generation Swine - it simply blows and that ain't much of a Crüe album to be honest. My fave Crüe album ever is Girls Girls Girls... I absolutely adore it. All songs are hard-rocking masterpieces... aye that Elvis Presley Cover I could do without. "Nona" is great if you get the CD reissue as you'll get the whole thing (extended, full version) as a bonus track! "Nona" means grandma in Italian and Nikki dedicated it to his late grandmother who passed away. The self-titled album is a close second... I can't give a rat's what they say... it slays! The drums sound HUGE and the songwriting is sedond to none. Corabi has that sleazy tinge that Neil just doesn't have. My fave Crüe track ever, however, is "Danger". It gets me every single time and Neil sure could sing great sometimes!
Anyhows here's my very own ranking:
    1. Girls, Girls, Girls
    2. Motley Crue
    3. Shout at the Devil
    4. Theatre of Pain

It definitely sounds much different then all of the other Crue albums. Much heavier and darker but the record is fantastic. I love my metal and Crue are my favourite band of all time. I wasn’t born until 84 so wasn’t old enough to properly remember them at their peak. I discovered them around 2008 time. I had been into GNR and Metallica before them. Something about their sound just grabbed me. Most of the metal and rock bands I had listened too were a five piece. With a rhythm and lead guitarist. Therefore in essence Mick Mars played the part of both. His guitar mixed with Nicki six’s songwriting and bass gave their music a sound I hadn’t heard anywhere else. Along with the drumming of Tommy Lee. I probably think that Vince Neil was the weak link, not to say he was a bad singer. I just don’t think he was as talented as the other three members. My favourite song is Ten Seconds To Love, not just by Crue, but ever.
I’ve not listened to the self titled album as much. As I overlooked it, due to it not being the original line up.
Also if the band could have held it together. Rather than being so self destructive. They could have been one of the biggest names in rock history. With much more mainstream success. Surpassing perhaps GNR and Metallica as far as recognition goes.
My listing would go. From worst to best
    Motley Crue
    Generation Swine
    New Tattoo
    Dr Feelgood
    Too Fast For Love
    Saints of LA

So sick of hearing all these CZcams 80s Rock content creators, jumping on the bandwagon and gushing over Corabi Crue ... that album was nothing more that Crue posing out trying to fit in, in the 90s... I gotta laugh because nobody said a damn thing about that album for 25 years, now all of a sudden it's a masterpiece, Theatre in fact is actually, very good, heavy and actually sounds like Crue, but it's crapped on because of their overglamed outfits

Agreed that the Crue were trying to fit in with what was going on at the time but the fact is they wrote an album full of great songs, on the other hand Theater is an a decent album with few songs that really aren't that great for me personally. Thanks for watching
