Great ranking Darcy and wasn’t far off mine, funny to think that was my very first video! The 94 album is criminally underrated, it’s got some pounding tracks on it. GGG is a big one for me, not that strong but Wildside is probably my favourite track of all time hence the knuckle tattoos! Also one of the first albums that got me into metal. SATD is my favourite although TFFL is pretty close. Great video mate!

    5 Theater Of Pain
But I like all of them
    Great job on this one

I saw them on Girls Girls Girls with Whitesnake too! With all of the shenanigans behind the scenes, it's amazing they could stand up, let alone play. And Dr. Feelgood tour. Do you remember who opened? I'm drawing a complete blank. Also saw them for that Greatest Hits package on a scaled down stage. Grunge was killing stuff back then. Wow, this is a tough list to rank. The first one, just because it was so ground breaking. But then the Shout at the Devil followup was too. Darcy, be sure to check out The Dirt movie. People forget, Mick is older than the rest of the band. Anxious to hear his solo album if it ever gets released. I can't afford the stadium tour either. I know it will never happen, but wouldn't it be cool to hear Vince sing those Corabi songs? Corabi-fronted Cure was supposed to come through our town back then at a crazy venue, but the whole thing collapsed with poor ticket sales. I never heard Corabi sing the regular Crue material either. Have to search CZcams. Okay, enough geezing... Great video!

I’m pretty sure Tesla opened on the Dr.Feelgood Tour or at least that leg of it ! The Dirt is a awesome movie , I probably watched it three times ! Yes Mick is around 10 years older then the rest of the guys & has had his share of health issues , but man can he play ! Cool to hear you seen them on the Girls Tour also ! Thanks for hanging out with me Jimmy 🤘 Have a great weekend :))

I seeeeeee MALICE in the background. Saw them during that tour.
The stage was only about 3 feet high. Three of those leathered guys were tall too.
Only about 70 of us there. They came on nearing midnight. Outrageous to the max !
I know that release as good as I do with Back in Black. Every nuance 😛🥁

I discovered them in 1991 at age 12. There have been times in the past when I wondered what my life would have been like had I been 16 in 1983 and that's why I had to get SATD on vinyl. I look forward to getting all of them in vinyl. GS is also my least favorite as well.

Dr. Feelgood is my favorite album from Motley Crue. The guitar sound so great. Great job from Bob Rock. Generation Swine and Self-Titled sound so weird for me, influenced by Grunge era. We saw how record label drive the band, change their music oriented. I also like New Tattoo.
Your cassette still shiny, like new. Thanks for the video.

Not a huge fan of Crüe, but I do love Dr. Feelgood '89. Tracks like "Kickstart my Heart" "Same ole Situation" "Don't Go Away Mad" and the title track are rock classics. Probably one of the first cassettes I purchased myself back in 1989.
    Great video Darcy 🤘💀🤘

    From one Cruehead to another,
Great video! Much of our history with their releases and shows is the same. I've seen the Crue live 37 times with the first concert of my 48 years on this planet boom was The Shout tour in Colorado Springs in 1984 with Ozzy, I was only 9 years old. My uncle took me and it changed me! I've now seen them play in 12 different states, and 17 different cities, in front of crowds as big as 100,000+ and as small as 800. Thanks again for the video, Long Live The Crue.
#9- Generation Swine / Best Track: 'Find Myself'
#8- New Tattoo / 'Hell on High Heels'
    #7- S.O.L.A. / 'MF of the Year'
#6- Girls Girls Girls / 'Wild Side'
#5- Dr. Feelgood / 'Don't Go Away Mad...'
#4- Theatre of Pain(Entertainment or Death) / 'Save our Souls'
#3- Shout at the Devil / 'Knock 'em Dead Kid'

But I agree with you about the Song WILD SIDE it's definitely one of their greatest songs ever for me as well. When it comes on the radio I can't help but crank that one up because it really does rock. Great lists Darcy, the Crue was one of the first rock bands I ever got into when I started listening to rock/metal in the mid 90s. I remember when The Dirt came out a few years ago, I revisited them for almost 2 months straight after not listening for a long.
    1. Shout At The Devil
    2. Too Fast For Love
    3. Motley Crue (this album might have fared better has they changed the name, but I understand why they didn't)

Thanks for posting. Never knew that story about the guy hitting the ring and getting lumped out. Sounds like he deserved it. I actually thought the Crue outsmarted Priest and Maiden. When Priest went Turbo and Maiden went Bottle in time or whatever its called, the Crue kept those simple riffs stayed totally relevant and gained more popularity while the other 2 crashed and burned. If Theatre would have been better they could have been enormous. Giving them an "A" for relevance during that decade.

The girl drummer from crue was from hole. Seen the same tour as you with white snake. Dude have you ever heard the Nikki sixx. Cool ranking video Darcy. My #1 is Too Fast For Love, #2 Shout and #3 Dr Feelgood
I seen that Whitesnake Motley Crue tour as well, Whitesnake sounded much better than the Crue. I think Nikki was drunk as well.
Seen them again on the Dr Feelgood tour with Faster Pussycat and they sounded great!
I remember when Shout At The Devil came out, the song itself was pretty epic at the time. Took me awhile to warm up to them because I figured they were ripping off ideas from Kiss with the blood and flames on the Livewire video. After a few months I decided they do have their own thing going on.
I also enjoy the sound on Too Fast For Love with just the bass behind the guitar solo, much more honest that way since they do only have one guitar player in the band.
10 Seconds Too Love smokes! Especially live when Vince sang it correctly

I did not know they did a song called "Bad Boy Boogie". Instantly checked to see if You Tube had it. But, it wasn't a version of the 10/10 AC/DC song, which I was hoping it would be. The Crue song was good, but I'd put the AC/DC one a good notch or two above it. Sounded odd hearing Crue headlined over Whitesnake, but Crue was pretty popular, so...Interesting video clip of the show you were at. That would have made it unforgettable.

Great ranking some days Dr Feelgood is my fave others it's Shout. It's funny because "back in the day" I didn't give Motley Crue a chance AT ALL because I thought hair metal was "lame" but after a certain point that thankfully went out the window. I think I outgrew that mentality by I dunno either the very late 90s or early 2000s.

Very cool to see a Motley Crue Ranking on Planet6Strings, Darcy! I came aboard with Motley Crue when Shout at the Devil was released, just loved that album and the image and everything about them at that time. They sure took a lot of twists and turns over the years, but have loved a lot of their stuff. I too like Theater of Pain a lot more than most fans tend to (Keep Your Eyes on the Money being a favorite, and Louder Than Hell, and Tonight... people need to revisit those and not think about the image so much), absolutely LOVED the 94 release, even if it was very different. I figured we would share the same feelings on Generation Swine, hahahaha! Not the greatest for sure! But those first three releases made for a great, great run (and it sustained pretty well up through Dr. Feelgood). As far as live, I saw them on the Dr. Feelgood tour and also on The End tour, both great shows.(on the John Corabi side of things, if you haven't checked it out yet, get the solo release he had not too long ago where he played the entire 94 album. It is a good live album and the performances are really good!, I believe it is on RatPak records) Fantastic episode, Darcy and thanks for the ranking! Good times!

It's too bad that Motley didn't continue the darker tone of Shout on later albums. I wonder if they deliberately softened their sound on Theater of Pain to get more popular.
