The JAAA should have be more accurate in their management by ensuring that they bring enough athletes at the world relays as reserved because it was very significant for the qualifications to be at the Olympic games in Paris.

I am always both eager and disappointed when I listen to the great Stephen Francis. Eager because he is a straight shooter and is usually spot on. Disappointed because when he speaks the truth about the ineptitude of the JAAA, I cannot understand how it is that I share the same view as Franno so much and yet we have an association who should have way more knowledge, resources, and expertise at their disposal and yet still make decisions that are deleterious to the success of the very sport they are charged to lead. I should not know more about this thing called track and field than the JAAA in terms of decisions and that is disappointing.
The people in charge should hand over the running of the JAAA to Glen Mills and Stephen Francis.
Our government is asleep at the wheel!!!!! There are ways to fix the JAAA but there has been no leadership at any level for as long as I can remember.

J3A needs to remove biases in their pick. Look at how they are trying to destroy Tracey Tiquando's track career. They wanted to strip him of his right to run after he trained, run, and qualified for the 4x100m relay at the world game last year. They removed him from the squad. He contested and was reinstated. They feel he shouldn't have done that, so now they are trying to discipline him, which would result in his suspension from running at this year's Olympic.

Didn’t know Franno was quite the intellect he puts on display here. Jamaica is in a unique scenarios where it is a sports powerhouse of few peer, yet the internal sports apparatus itself is barebones and in fact rife with corruption. In most countries with such histories, their sports federations are at least riddled with highly esteemed sportsmen, which should explain itself. In Jamaica, we can’t even let a legend like Quarrie get a shot at governance. Most big countries also subsidize their athletes, if you have wondered why Italian athletes wear “ Polizzia” it’s because the major sports body in Italy is part of its police force. Jamaica isn’t as developed or advanced an economy, but with the population size why can’t the captains of industry attempt at funding them?

We can all agree that Franno is a successful coach and very knowledgeable about all things track and field. Do you really think that he didn't know about the World Relays being an Olympic qualifier? Of course he did. Then since he had the solution to qualifiy why didn't he go to the JAAA and say I have the solution.? Why wait, as usual, until it goes bad to say that he knew it would go bad? Wouldn't it have been better to go the the inept JAAA and say I have a suggestion and if they ignored him then he would be validated in his criticism?
The only difference between this man and Butler is that he is more successful. They operate the same way. Always the criticism, and cussing and name calling after the event. Well, at least Butler offered himself to the JFF but when the JAAA asked Franno to be a part of the set up he said no.
When Frater joined the JAAA Franno ostracized him and was very suspicious of his motives.
Why didn't he make his athletes available for the Relays? I can tell you that if the JAAA approached him and Mills, they would have given them some no-nmae athlets that can't even medal at Champs..
    Think people. Think.

Their first priority is their individual events. If an athlete medals in the relay at the expense of their individual event the sponsor will sanction them. He also said Femke Bol and some others are paid separately by their country so they will run the relays. Go back and listen carefully and then you will find out what is the real motivation.

Most importantly, as he said, Jamaica does not pay the athletes and the shoe sponsors in the contract focus on individual medals, not relay medals. Listen before commenting. Bear in mind, this is an athlete's job, their profession, so compensation just like any other vocation is a priority.

Did you listen to what Franno said. He said that Jaaa did not give the athletes sufficient time to get themselves in shape for the world relays, they also did not underline the significance of the world relays re qualification for the Olympics. Athletes should have been told from last year about the importance of the world relays re qualification for the Olympics. All the athletes that represented Jamaica at the last world championships in the relays should have been told that they should prepare themselves to compete at the world relays this year since it is the main qualifier for the relays at the Paris Olympics. I am sure that if the importance of the world relays was clearly stated to the athletes they and their handlers would understand.
