I had a hip replacement in Nov 10, 1998, and it turned out great and started to walking on it every day and I have a lot of experience with the fact I have a lot of experience with my own life as well as a few things to get you in pt,ot and after the first few days of the problem of being a big fan of our team is a must for all of us to started to walking 🚶‍♀️though and sent to a nursing home for a week,

Had elbow replacement and since I'm on a high dose of buprenorphine for chronic pain, pain relief was a joke! 14 tab's of 5mg oxycodone. I did not even take it because the bupe is too strong. The gave IV fentynal but so little it too was a joke. Good thing the bupe has decent control but hospitals need to update pain relief for patients on bupe or methadone. In the past very large dose of hydromorphone worked but God forbid they try that! Time to find a protocol.

Having the procedure done on June 4th, 2020. Had 3 previous scopes to repair torn meniscus’s due to martial arts for over 30 years. Previous surgeries include a TRSR (Total Reverse Shoulder Replacement) back in 2012, Left elbow ORIF, spinal fusion of L4-L5, partial right hip replacement in 2018. I agree that the sooner I return home produces a better outcome. We agreed, surgeon and myself, that an overstay for 1 night at the hospital, but if I feel like it, I’d rather go home the same day. I currently live in a mobile home so a walker would be a challenge, I’d rather try to get away with just a cane. I’ll have a CPM (Continuous Passive Motion) device along with an Aircast Motorized cooling machine. Pain management is 10mg of Percocet every 4 hours with the addition of Tylenol & Advil as adjunct therapy.

I am 1week in from total knee replacement. Just a little thing that really helped me was using a robe belt I put it under my foot and use it like a pulley. It helps a lot in lifting the leg up into bed or getting in a car. Good luck to all.

Make sure you do your physio..the harder you work at it the better your results. Always take your pain medicine an hour before your work out. Try to do more than what is expected......but don't over do it.

Awesome video! I had my TKR 3 weeks ago and my hospital experience wasn’t anywhere close to this. I guess I was unlucky due to COVID. Nevertheless, I am recovering gradually. It's a long recovery process ✌️

I had unaddressed post operative pain with my 4th spinal surgery. This one was similar to my first, posterior n anterior brackets n screws being opened from the front and the back. I was in unspeakable pain as I was being wheeled to my room, the whole first 2 days, and only the edge being taken off for the balance of my stay. I have spinal issues that according to my prognosis will require more surgeries until my full spine is fused. I'm terrified of another surgery. I have taken a nasty fall and don't want to report it because I don't want any more surgery until I absolutely have to. I had an associate of my original surgeon for this surgery. I told him I was faced with praying to God, asking Him if this is where I pray to live, or pray to die. The surgeon apologized, but that hasn't lessened my fear of a repeat performance. I thought this would be like my first surgery, where the pain was under control and my sense of fight was intact, wanting to be up and walking as soon as possible, and often. It's been over a year since this last surgery, and I haven't even conquered physical therapy. I still have nightmares of the horrendous, intense pain, I still tear up talking about it. I'm in intensive weekly counseling. I don't know where to go from here.

Candice Perry be afraid! 1%+ develops infections, pain management is poor, because of ‘opioid crisis’ expect Tylenol. You will discharged home the day after surgery.

Terrible Hospital. Was brought to their ER in extreme pain to the point of blacking out. Their implied I was a drug addict and refused any treatment or assistance. Was taken to another hospital that evaluated me and admitted me for treatment. Saint Marys is terrible hospital. I wouldn't take anyone there.
