Scream factory is great but they keep re-releasing the same titles on 4K. I stopped buying some of their Blu-ray because I had to double dip a handful of times already.

Arrow been coming out with some really great titles lately. The Warriors, Barbarella, Carlitos Way, etc.
Some other great sellers overseas are Second Sight and Umbrella Entertainment.
vinegar syndrome would be a good label if they didn't release dog shit titles for ridiculous prices. They charge more for thier 4ks than what some of those titles cost to shoot lol. People can say what they want about scream factory but at least they have titles people actually want.

VS & Arrow are killing it. I would usually say VS is the best, and then I remember the Enter the Video Store: Empire of Screams box set.
Primal Rage is awesome!
Severin and VS run neck to neck in my opinion as my favorite label. Arrow and Scream Factory has great releases but I feel like they aren't as strong as they used to be. They are more or less just re-releasing their titles with very little new extras. But as far as just a fantastic new label releasing great unknown titles, Radiance is just killing it over and over again.
The scene in primal rage where the monkey escapes and gets hit by a car is absolutely hilarious 😂😂 worth owning for that alone

I had my VHS copy of THE RIPPER with my pile of Savini DVDs to be signed at a horror convention back in 2008. I had no idea the history of Savini hating the film and you should of seen the look on his face when he saw the VHS. He asked "where did you find this?" he looked irritated and showed it to the person who was with him. I felt bad when I got home and googled the movie and realized that he regretted doing it. Now this was in 2008, so I guess he did a special feature taking S&^t about the movie on the new VS release.....LOL. Either way he signed all of my dvds and the BIG CASE old school VHS of The Ripper. It IS a bad movie. I LOVE the new cover on the Bluray though.
I remember renting The Ripper from a mom & pop video store around 1986. I don't remember it being very good but i had to get it for nostalgic reasons.

Evil Laugh - Low budget horror slasher. A Friday the 13th copy cat except swap the woods with a fixer upper house during a weekend.
Fun songs , bad acting, silly kills , but fun watch low expectations helped.
Watched the Vinegar Syndrome Blu-ray. Rough transfer gave a VHS feel to it.

Tough Guys Don’t Dance is probably my favorite movie VS has put out. I’ve got the Ripper and Flesheater on order. I don’t know if the Ripper will live up to Blood Cult but I’ll finally get around to watching it.

If you want a great title from VS, you can't go wrong with Blood Games. It's so good. Eye candy, action packed, hilarious; a real solid flick.
As a huge KISS fan, I am really hoping that VS decides to do something with KISS Meets The Phantom Of The Park. If any company would or could, it's VS.

I picked up primal rage and the ripper at my local movie store yesterday but I wish I knew that sale on the VS website I could've got rage a little cheaper
If you compare Arrows Library vs. Vinegar Syndromes, in my opinion Arrow is blowing them Away. Vinegar has the best marketing, because they can get people excited about some terrible films and charge more then it's worth. I Love their transfer quality, but Arrow, Synapse and Second sight has slightly higher bit rates on average, also for Audiophiles like me with Sony 3000 with a 7:2:2 set up you live to see Dolby Atmos on newly done transfer which Vinegar Syndrome lacks on. You said Second sight was unstoppable three months ago and is beating Arrow, so now you changed your mind?? I agree with Deadpit on Severin being on a roll lately... Arrow from August 2024 to January 2025 will have the best releases of the year like the last two years, they finish strong in the end... I love your opinion and all of your content (you rock Christian). Remember what I said about the upcoming Arrow video releases to finish the year extremely strong. If Synapse releases Trick or Treat and I hopefully get the Devin Whitehead artwork cover box that will be in my top five of the year..... God bless and keep doing what your doing..... I'm gonna be honest, Vinegar Syndrome used to be my number 2 label. But now, they have fallen so far, no more great horror releases at all, nothing but DTV martial arts films, which I love btw. Art has been atrocious in a lot of cases, I don't get how no one can criticize them? Very odd, anyway just my two cents
I do agree with you about the interviews, it would so much better to splice them together for a small talking heads documentary instead.

Every time I search Primal Rage on VS it never pops up. I been after it for awhile, but I will probably end up waiting for Monstermania to grab it at Vinegar Syndromes table.

the problem is 95% of the films they release are god awful no way are they the best a nice slipcover means nothing if the films garbage

VS are certainly killing it with the packaging. But as it's been noted by others already, their library is less than stellar (though that TCM2 release is something I regret not getting quite badly).
I would hope that distributers for superior titles see what VS do for the product they DO have and are impressed enough to work with VS.
All these observations are from a complete outsider. I don't sign up for their annual clubs or anything. I may get a newsletter. But outside of maybe two releases, thus far, I've little to no desire for what they produce.
But I'm glad they exist and that the fans of their stuff have them as their hub for those specific titles.
I definitely bought mostly Scream Factory within the last year. But that's because I had very little before making good on a few of their sales. I just want a handful of the remaining 4K titles and I'm more or less. Finished. I completed my Hammer collection, by far my favorite.
But if I were to choose an actual MVP of labels right now, it feels like Synapse kills all else. That may be because of my love for Italian films 😂 When I was grabbing every giallo from Arrow, they were certainly my favorite. Each label seems to specialize in their field; subgenres and such. I dig, ya know?

I love Vinegar Syndrome. People on here complaining gotta do a little more research on the movies they are buying. With the prices I am for sure gonna put a little work in on seeing what people say about a movie. Look for reviews and watch trailers. A lot of things are streaming on tubi so you can atleast check out a poor quality version just to atleast see if its your jam. Not every movie is for every person.
You have a good selection from them. I do like the company. Evil Laugh looks like it might be good. But you got Ripper a movie I thought would never get a Blu Ray release. I also like Scream Factory, Arrow Video, and Kino Laber. I am getting my black Friday release tomorrow and can't wait.
We picked up quite a few of the same titles. Night screams was terrible but evil laugh is fun enough and Primal Rage rules.

CHH, I really liked Night Screams, it wasn't very good, but VERY entertaining... especially the scene at the club/bar. The band gives Dragon Sound a run for their money!!!
Overall, it reminds me of Spookies, not because they are similar, but because it seems like they had ideas for 2 or 3 films and then decided to make 1 film instead. Please do a review after you watch it!!!

Degausser Video is a sub label done by vinegar syndrome specializing in shot on video movies. Sub labels just like their VSU or VSA line. Great haul man so glad you are becoming a VS nut like me 😂
They put out trash. Wrapping dogshit in a nice package doesn't change the fact that it's dogshit wrapped in nice packaging.

I honestly think Severin has had a better year despite their prices being disgusting. Arrow has the best packaging at the best price. Scream Factory WOULD be the best if they charged $25 max for their slipcover 4K's on release.

Fun video. I love VS. I have all of these and need to watch them. Posted my recent haul video a few days back.
Man, my friends and I were so super excited when we discovered The Ripper sitting on a video shelf at Family Video around 1990-1991 or so, only to be monumentally disappointed to pop it in and discover it was shot on video and one of the most pathetically boring "horror" movies we ever had the displeasure of sitting through.
VS really had to go overboard on this release to get people interested in that stinker. I hope those who bought it can get some enjoyment out of it.. As for me, life is too short to waste valuable time on Earth suffering through that thing again.

Primal Rage is a phenomenal movie. I'm glad Vinegar Syndrome gived the film the treatment it well deserved.
It took you awhile but you finally came around. I think Hobgoblins left a bad taste in your mouth. I've been buying VS titles since they released Madman in 2015. Not only are their restorations, documentaries, and packaging great but they're releasing the titles I used to rent from Blockbuster that no other boutique labels today would release. If it wasn't for VS, I probably wouldn't own the 120+ titles I enjoyed renting back in the 90's.

I don't think people realize how obsessive the founders of Vinegar Syndrome are about film, especially regional oddities. It's really a labor of love in many ways for folks like Joe Rubin, and I know that because I've known people that knew him when he was younger. I'm glad they preserve stuff the way Something Weird did. Long live regional cinema and its gumption!
Vinegar Syndrome rules. I love that they are releasing the old 90's B-title martial arts flicks, and they look amazing.

I usually agree with most of what you say, but you’re wrong here. VS COULD be the best, but 95% of what they put out is complete crap. They probably have the best packaging and presentation, but the actual movies themselves they release are mostly not worth getting. There are exceptions of course, but they really need to try and get better movies, because that’s pretty much the only thing wrong with them. Arrow is currently the best and it’s not really even close.
They put out rare, obscure and hard to find films that unless you're a hard-core horror fan you don't know what they are. Plus because you don't like it doesn't mean other won't!🤔

I bought the viniger syndrome bluray of the ripper to finally see this movie after all these year. And all I can say is what a garbage movie not good at all and not worth owning at any price. And the tom savini interview about the ripper on this release and how much he hates the ripper movie and I see why he hates this movie so much. Bc of how bad it is. And fyi video quality on this movie is bad bc it is barely above a VHS quality. So if you are thinking about getting this don't waste your money on this movie. And nothing against viniger syndrome on there releaes bc viniger syndrome does top notch on all there video and audio and extras on all there releaes they do. But this is one of the worst releaes they have put out so far

SF is the same tired crap done in 4K and ridiculously priced. I use to love Scream, but as of late Vinegar and Severin have been on point. Scream is great for titles that went oop and are brought back in 4K and thats only if your willing to put out 50 to 200.00 dollars.
VS and Arrow is the best! I've never been a huge fan of scream factory. cases are basic, slips are paper thin, and over priced!
