Breakfast Club Power 105.1 FM you had to be in to TRL era pop (Nsync, Britney, 98 Degrees, Mandy Moore, Samantha Mumba). She hosted a bunch of things for MTV too.
Lol nah. She came out during the MTV TRL days. Her career failed because she was a Jessica Simpson wannabe, who was a Britney Spears wannabe. She was one of many blonde white girls whose record label tried to copy the Britney blueprint. That niche was supersaturated in the late 90s/early 2000s
Yeah I definitely remember it. It was just straight up typical late 90s early 2000s pop song. You could have took any number of small booty blonde hair singers and put them on this track it would have been just as popular. Just completely overproduced nonsense LOL. She's delusional if she thinks her career was going to get any bigger than what it was.
Royce was so out place....look like he was walking down the street and saw them shooting the video through a warehouse window then walked in stole a donut and ask if he could get in on it since he was in the neighborhood
@@phraze410 when u an artist specially rappers lol u take your chances with these lame pop stars. That song may pay off and it may move u up terms of value in the industry lol not mad at him for taking that gig lol get the paper and bounce
Royce had massive potential in 1998 and 1999 but ultimately went the same way as Canibus when he came out on the losing end in the game of industry politics. There's nothing wrong with heightening your exposure and broadening your fan base by appearing on tracks with 'white pop singers'. Unless you're some black nationalist manic; in which case you sit with Benzino, and rambling old farts like the trainwreck that is Brand Nubian.
They always say that you have to be good, a little lucky, and great timing. So I can believe that the tragedy messed her over. It probably messed a bunch of people situation up.
No one is disrespecting this king. We're wondering about the white girl. Why couldn't she face a tragedy and still make music while after his own death this man still making music.
For anyone else not old enough to remember this song, ' I Wanna Be Bad ', was in fact a big hit back in 2001. But we all know what a short memory the Music Business has, & so it looks like Ford is just another One Hit Wonder that time passed by...
I remember that Glitter was also released on 9/11 and even though the soundtrack sold over 4 million copies Mariah was still dragged as it was labeled an epic flop. Ms. Carey took her L and allowed herself to become the butt of every joke that year but she never stopped working and persevered until she scored the biggest comeback in music history. It's all about the work-ethic, attitude and talent of the person; not always the circumstances.
She said anything that launched in 9/11 got canned that day. Jay Z dropped The Blueprint on 9/11, and so did Fabulous drop his first project that day too.
I think her comments were misconstructed but there's some truth to it. A lot of movies, singles, albums were delayed or cancelled following 9/11. Even Sirius XM which was supposed to launch on 9/12 was delayed. Radio stations didn’t receive radio countdowns that week, they switched programming to news coverage and retooled their song playlists, which caused a lot of pop songs to drop off the Top 20 and some new releases failed to gain any attention. Sad times... there was a lot of uncertainty... malls were empty, people weren’t going out, sales fell and labels didn't want to invest. Artists that were still under development like her were being shelved or dropped. Pop music didn't fully recover until 2002.
I used to enjoy Willa Ford’s music. I still listen to “I Wanna Be Bad” pretty frequently to this day. I remember listening to “Did Ya’ Understand That” a lot as a kid, but I don’t listen to it as much now.
"Drop one of clues bombs for eddie griffen damnit" With that back drop pic blowin up as the bomb went off. 0:40 Fuckin hilarious 😂😂😂😂 Idk why im laughing so hard maybe cuz im high but got damn im crying
I totally remember this song, and I was mad young in 2001. I think people hated on the modulated warpy vocals like that at the time, but now I kind of like the weird electronic effect.
Benny Yea and her music sucked too.. All I'm sayin is.. u can't blame a tragedy like that for a music career that didn't take off.. I'm pretty sure she wasn't the only debuting singer during that time.. and oh yea again her music sucked
I searched Willa Ford's I wanna be bad and this came up. I'm embarrassed that I knew both her name and song title. Frankly, I deserve donkey of the day.

Lionel Thompson Exactly. She was garbage and she still hasn't accepted that 16 years later. Guess we all gotta blame someone.
Kevin Pham PREACH!!! R.I.P Aaliyah
lol they all have just blended into one person in my head at this point.
Exactly... just like everyone tried to get together good looking white boys and follow the NSYNC/Backstreet Boys blueprint
Dont forget Chris--I mean X-tina.

Lynn W yea mee too lol I remember her performing on all that

That was my shit too " i wanna be bad and make looks so good i got thinks on my mind"
She sound like a budget Britney Spears. Also I need a Royce Interview now lol
She is not even the great Value version. More like the Dollar store Britney
Royce was so out place....look like he was walking down the street and saw them shooting the video through a warehouse window then walked in stole a donut and ask if he could get in on it since he was in the neighborhood
I just write a similar comment without even seen your comment till now lol she's a Britney copy lol as if Britney wasn't enough

That track must have been a skeleton in Royce's closet. CTG straight exposed him lmao
I remember this shit coming out when I was 11. Lulz. She clownin'.
Jamal Aalo
I don't remember Royce being on this song
Lol they all got one. Kendrick is on Taylor Swift's song.
WRONG, he did a track for Nelly Fortado called "Something" and he also did a track with Madonna

Her 1st album was actually fire lol. Typical pop album, but it did the job.
i stil loved the "did you understand that"
Singers like her were a dime a dozen at the time. Her career went as far as it was going to go.
The still are imo.
James Mason so true
Exactly
Naw your just jealous
Yeah she couldn't sing
She is actually a very talented and sweet person who spoke without thinking. End of story.
I can't be one of the only ppl who used to love "I wanna be bad" 😂😂
Cakeandsum Rosesplease I still remember all the words
I used to love that song. I didn't buy her record tho.
Cakeandsum Rosesplease you aren't. Still my ish!!!
I had the CD single lol remember those? I don't remember her 2nd single though
Yeah you are...Lol
Blames it on 911? Is that how many records she sold?
Shaun McCauley
I doubt it was that much. probably less lmao
$9.11 one cd.
@@fatearamines6848 That's messed up lol.
@@fatearamines6848 LMAO!!
They always say that you have to be good, a little lucky, and great timing. So I can believe that the tragedy messed her over. It probably messed a bunch of people situation up.
I remember Willa Ford. She was pushed as the naughty version of Britney Spears. LOL! I forgot Royce da 5'9 was on that! lol
On the move yes she was. People just weren’t feeling her. She sounds like every other Britney clone during the era.
Which was dumb because Britney went naughty that same year😂
If Tupac could sell records before and after his death then what's her problem?
Nikeemah Imada she's not tupac though
Probably true
True factz!!!
Don't ever disrespect Tupac like that in your life .
No one is disrespecting this king. We're wondering about the white girl. Why couldn't she face a tragedy and still make music while after his own death this man still making music.
FART ON THOSE BAR'S
-CTHAGOD
Never heard this generic pop song. Kinda like Brooke Hogan.
Yeah she was there and gone like a flash. Her blaming 9-11 is ridiculous. People weren’t feeling her music. Very generic early 2000s dance tracks.
Except I vaguely remember Brooke Hogans 1 song. This doesnt ring a bell lmao.
Hulk Hogans daughter had a singing career?
Rob Grady yup
She was destined to be a one hit wonder. Like really think who was dominant in pop music back then Britney, Christina, Destiny's Child, Janet & Pink.
I remembered this song when they introduced White She-Devil on Undercover Brother
She wanted to be bad but rather that album beat her to it. #BAD
For anyone else not old enough to remember this song, ' I Wanna Be Bad ', was in fact a big hit back in 2001. But we all know what a short memory the Music Business has, & so it looks like Ford is just another One Hit Wonder that time passed by...
I used to love that song when I was in middle school! That's a throwback 😂
I actually remember both songs that they mentioned in the video. 😊 90s baby right here.
I remember that Glitter was also released on 9/11 and even though the soundtrack sold over 4 million copies Mariah was still dragged as it was labeled an epic flop. Willa who?
Ludens aren't you a wwp mod? Sup
Ludens Minor pop singer
Well she looks hot
Sierra Johnson ew no
Sierra Johnson hell nah cuzzin
Damn, she killed the shit outta that song with autotune
Lee Prado it was 2001,every other pop song was this generic non instrumental fluff. Glad that's over.
Ramsay Rose Pop music is even worse now. It's all autotuned pop crap. It's declined instead of gotten better
She said anything that launched in 9/11 got canned that day. Jay Z dropped The Blueprint on 9/11, and so did Fabulous drop his first project that day too.
TheRealdealdude2 Charlemagne already said that dummy. Smh
And_What stop fighting, both of you 😢
Not to mention POD and Nickelback did well.
Mariah Carey's "Glitter" as well.
The Impersonators she still outsold Willa Ford by miles though
I remember When she considered herself the Eminem of pop (actual quote) thats when I knew her career was over
The disrespect
😆
I hollered
I remember this song. I use to listen to this song when I worked with some people overnight at Borders Books around 2001 which was around 9/11.
I may be weird I actually like her music
Liz Abella lol that second song didn't sound that bad to me.
Christina Milan was affected too on the same day. She recover and she did well.
Did she tho?
This was a HUGE hit single. Y'all are crazy

There are times when you think something but you just don't say it. Willa Ford this is one of those times.
I used to enjoy Willa Ford’s music. I still listen to “I Wanna Be Bad” pretty frequently to this day. I remember listening to “Did Ya’ Understand That” a lot as a kid, but I don’t listen to it as much now.

I remember a lot of albums came out on 9/11. MTV shut down for months too!
Y'all can say what you want. Willa Ford was fine back in the day. I still remember that music video lol
Lots of other bands and artists launched projects around the same time and got hurt by it, but they also bounced back.
It's also in the movie Dickie Roberts: former child star 👌🏾👍🏾
I remember this song lol I think it used to be on rotation on the box.
I totally remember this song, and I was mad young in 2001. I think people hated on the modulated warpy vocals like that at the time, but now I kind of like the weird electronic effect.

I love that song
I heard of her, but only because around that time my sister had an obsession/ hatred of her because she was dating her favorite Backstreet Boy.
yeah, nick carter. never saw or heard much from her after they ended things.
Hey, what does it mean for the clues bomb? Is it good or bad? I never understand it....
DJ Envy IS rich lol
Beezus Hrist facts
I used to love that song.
Mariah Carey also released a album on 9/11 and she still had a comeback out of nowhere like 4 or 5 years later
I literally was thinking about Mariah this whole time. The soundtrack to Glitter was cool. The movie was aight, too.
David Maine Me too! I was jus patiently waiting for him to say dat shit and he didn't 🤦🏽♂️
Don't be ignorant, Mariah was extremely established by 2001 and Willa came out several months before 9/11 and didn't have a fan base yet!
Benny Yea and her music sucked too.. All I'm sayin is.. u can't blame a tragedy like that for a music career that didn't take off.. I'm pretty sure she wasn't the only debuting singer during that time.. and oh yea again her music sucked
This was my jam back then but never heard from her after that
DJ Envy never missing a moment. Lol.
I only know this song as the “Black Man’s Kryptonite” theme lmao
Can't lie.... that was my shit! lol and maybe it's because I used to watch Alot of MTV back then in middle school 😂😂😂😂
One hit wonder like a MF. Was a pretty big song back then tho
I remember the song from "Undercover Brother" but never bother to look it up, didn't even know Royce Da 5'9 was on it...
I actually remember that first song lol. They played it when Eddie Griffin was gettin lit with the white girl in undercover brother
I liked that song and its in a lot of teen movies
I searched Willa Ford's I wanna be bad and this came up. I'm embarrassed that I knew both her name and song title. Frankly, I deserve donkey of the day.
