Why You Should Not Get The New Acura Integra

- This 2023 Acura Integra A-Spec is a great car but let's be frank, it is not perfect. I will list three things why you should not get an Acura Integra as your new car.
Best of luck to everyone out there looking for a new daily driver car. Only get a brand new car either at MSRP or lower.

I just got this car, and I absolutely love it. I had a Honda fit so this is a huge upgrade for me, 200 horsepower is more than enough for me as it’s good for gas mileage as well. Also it being built on a Honda Civic design is a plus, as parts to repair will be much cheaper down the line than a BMW or a Mercedes Benz. Highly recommend this car if you want a nice luxurious hatchback.
It's definitely a pick for the luxurious hatchback midsize car. Will choose this over a Benz anyday
Hey what type of gas u used ?
@@foureyeddriver It’s more of a compact than a midsize car. That would go to the TLX.
@@jasonpham3519 I go with premium as it says it’s recommended.

The integra warranty isn't two years. It has 6 years or 70k miles warranty for powertrain and 4yrs bumper to bumper. The 2yr thing is for free maintenance (oil changes). It's the same for all Acuras.
Ah! Good to know, and thank you for the clarification. Just looked up their bumper to bumper for 4 years/50k miles
Yup, it's a pretty great warranty. It was quite a surprise to me that it has a longer warranty than the Civic.
@@Aki_Lesbrinco Wow. That I didn't know, even though they are practically identical 😁
Great video! Thanks so much for all the info, I’m looking for a car right now and You have been a great help, Cheers!
You're very welcome. Glad I could help
i just got this car last week. i came from a ‘98 Acura CL 3.0L, so yea i love everything about my integra. this car feels like a high end luxury car coming from my old one. the styling on this is beautiful, the 4 doors and hatchback trunk make it practical for anything i need done. i really think they hit it out the park with this one, one day i’ll snag the type s and really have some fun
Your '98 CL was a solid car as well but congrats on the Integra grab! This car has everything to make it an entry luxurious daily driver which is also a fun one as well
@@foureyeddriver are there any mods you’d recommend getting? i’m already having the remote starter installed. i have the a spec cvt
@@highbeamneem4607 Great question. Remote starter is a must for any CVT car so nice work on that. I'll be adding an ECU which will enhance the power soon
@@highbeamneem4607the cvt is the better choice if you plan to take on road trips. Because that transmission allows like 45 mpg highways.
I appreciate your honest opinion: good stuff. The Mazda 3 is a good choice but doesnt carry the name plate or reliability that the Honda Civic/Integra does. But it is a solid choice. Any Hyundai/Kia - NO! no...a thousand times no. It potentially will get boosted, be problematic and sink faster in depreciation than the Titanic. The warranty is super hilarious. No one in the 20-30 year old demographic is keeping a car for 10 years. The GTI is a solid choice, but the reliability is hit or miss. It is a german vehicle and they arent cheap maintenance wise. But it is a solid choice (heck im considering one). GR Corolla tooo much $$$ dinero. Fun car though. Your integra is a very, very good car. It needs at least an extra 28HP, more torque and a better transmission (cvt stink) from an enthusiast standpoint. It would be awesome to see it with AWD and rear ventilation.
You're very welcome. I'm glad I can give my input. Imagine the Integra being AWD with 28+ HP that you stated. That will be a thrill machine. They should have done so for the Type S version of it
Get the Acura. ONLY use premium fuel. It’s so much better than the civic in looks, ride, and interior materials. And the sound system is CRAZY!!
But I'm trying to convince people NOT to get it, considering their crisp ELS audio system, comfort, heated seats for the winter, stylish 🤣
Why only premium fuel? Does it take premium only?
It can take 89 as well which i've done sometimes but it's recommended in the manual with premium@@Nigel36r
OMG i didn't notice that . thank you . I wanted to buy this car . now i have to think about it
@@jasonpham3519 there are other options 😁
Thank you I keep looking between Integra vs Mazda! Mazda sedan or hatchback what's better in your opinion?
For me, I would pick the sedan because of the style. However, a hatchback does have it's advantages for access and larger space.
Thank you!!!
You're very welcome! @@VeronicaUSA
I got the 2023 TLX ASPEC I absolutely love it lucky for me. It was a demo and it had 4500 miles when I bought it so instead of a seven year 75,000 mile I got a 70 100,000 mile warranty and absolute spaceship compared to my last car, which was a Honda Civic.
Nice and congrats! I like the fact that they gave you the 100,000 mile warranty bump after it was used as a showcase car.
What noticeable difference do you feel between the TLX and your former Civic?
@@foureyeddriver it takes a little bit to get used of the width and there’s so much more to learn with all the new options we have
@@davidvencill5937 Nice! Definitely enjoy your new TLX Aspec. Heard great things about that car
How you buy a demo? 😊
I have the Integra and love it. it feels mature and the reliability is great. Personally for me 200HP is enough get up and go to merging onto highways. Best thing is no one will try to roll up and race 😆
Agreed! The Integra is hands down the best daily driver. Luxurious, comfy, and pretty thrilling with the manual option
i got the ilx 2020 it has 201hp and i love it but my engen is 2.5 dualcluch trans
Still a great car that you have!
i own one too and only complaint is 200hp but already have fbo just going to need to get that bigger turbo from prl
Very true
It dynos 236 to the wheels.
Right now the downsides still dont outweigh the positives. Alot of 32k with tech and aspec with 5k miles on it. I wouldint touch the elantra N due to the powertrain issues.
I agree with you. This car is a lot of fun and great for a daily driver. You know how I feel about the Elantra N 😁
I chose mine is ASpec Blue and it is absolutely beautiful. I chose Acura because it is a tried and true engine and hone can work on Hondas they last a long time and will always have easy time selling it when the time comes. Always desirable. The VW I won’t touch unless it’s a lease. The Hyundai looks like it would be a fun car to have and it looks very stylish I just don’t know about long term durability and resale
Yeah the Honda engine is one of the best and most reliable. Hell, it won the F1 World Championship.
It's crazy that Hyundai now has a long term durability issue. My previous car, 2010 Elantra is still going strong. These newer ones are problematic it seems.
@@foureyeddriver it’s a shame about Hyundai. I certainly would welcome a Honda competitor and see what happens. It’s also telling that there aren’t many old Hyundais around.
The SI are still more expensive than the integra (markups), the Mazda 3 only comes in automatic, and the Golf GTI will only come in automatic in 2024, the GR Corrola core trim used goes for 45-50k so that is a big price jump. The Elantra Ns are blowing up around 30k miles so not a reliable daily.
Such a shame that the markups are still strong with the Si along with the end of the manuals for the Golf GTI.
The '24 S Premium Hatchback of the Mazda 3 still offers manual. Is the Elantra N that notorious for fires?
@@foureyeddriver those Mazda 3 hatchback is fwd and only has 191 hp. One of your complaints about the integra was that it didn't have enough power at 200 hp. Not trying to be argumentative just pointing out how few options there are. Great content.
They are at msrp now in my area you just gotta ask and tell them you’re not paying above msrp
Reasons you should get one, for one all of the cars he listed as alternatives, are either not hatchbacks or require premium gasoline like the Subaru.
Secondly, the Acura is known for reliability, unlike the Golf, or the Hyundai. Acura, you’re guaranteed a reliable and fuel efficient cruiser.
Sorry to call you out on BS
But my brother owned a mazda 3 turbo as well, it’s horrible on fuel, doesn’t offer Manual, and it’s just a higher risk of going wrong.
Ah, OK. Mazda 3 is the car your brother owns.
Hyundai drastically changed the last time I owned a '10 Hyundai Elantra which was close to 40mpg and still going. Maybe they focused too much on performance and technology but less with safety and reliability
@foureyeddriver I will never touch a Hyundai or Kia again. The last Hyundai we had was stolen due to the Kia Boys thing. Never again.
I recommend leaving those 1.5t stock. Honda really dropped the ball on the design.
It's definitely bigger and bulkier than the previous generations.
@@foureyeddriver i like the design on the vehicle, its the design of the engine is my biggest complaint
This car looks more premium than the civic. Feels more premium too. The Hyundai I wouldn’t touch as resale will probably be terrible after unfortunately the VW is a car you lease. I’ve had 2 VW and they’re nothing but problems e plastic engine parts deep in the engine and longevity and durability not what you would think it would be.
Interesting. Were you having problems with the hatchback models or the sedan ones for the VW cars that you have owned? Seems that VW are not as reliable as I thought it would be
@@foureyeddriver I had a golf. Huge electric problems. Transmission shifting and dealer would not own the issues. I had a Passat and one day driving on highway it overheated. Some cheap plastic part had broken and would’ve taken huge labor to replace. Over $1500 to fix. In that last car the lining on ceiling was coming apart and what seemed to be a solid heavy car was starting to fall apart. Lots of plastic inner workings.
What a shame. Sorry you had to go through that with both the Golf and Passat. I would reject VWs as well if I had both car and dealer dilemmas @@viyau10
Hey I'm rolling it for an year in NYC with a CVT and I really love it. No such a c 200hp car that gives 47mpg on the highway and 30pmg city. BTW bro got the Golf and it's much smaller car means you cannot compare. Lastly tou cannot cmpare Toyota and Subaru to Honda - Honda is always better and a headach free car you just can't kill it ( and I've owned a Toyota and Subaru). The only think I can complaine is the look. 235/40/18 doesent look good (they did it for MPG) for better apperience it should be at least 265 by 20" and it can handle it. ILS is really amazing the only competition is Audi but you will have to pay $10K extra and more for A5. I test drove the Civic and Integra before buy and it's clearly not the same car - adaptive dapmpers, ELS, Seats, size, trunk, CVT etc. Good luck with Toyota and Subaru... I've owned those nothing compare.
Getting those numbers in NYC is amazing. Overall this car is amazing and I rather get this than pay extra for an Audi that already is known for problems
I had to settle for a Civic sport touring. Guess ill stay on the porch with the little dogs.
Why stay with the little dogs? Your Civic Touring is just as good 👍
If I were 20ish years younger the SI would be the top pick. Today my bones Prefer the Integra
Lol I hear ya. The Integra for me was more comfortable and attractive than the Civic Si
I got a 2012 Acura TL I was seriously thinking about trading mine in for this car im definitely not now.
I have the same car as you . But I’m thinking of getting the type s in the integra or Tlx
Thumbs down. It dynos at 236 the wheels. Acura integras have always been a civic in a suit. No other car feels like this one; easy to get in and out, comfortable seats, great power, its fun and engaging, the suspension is comfortable, all the touch points are great, the 6mt is so good to row through, I love the clutch engagement and the sound system is the best stock ive ever heard. I disagree with most everything you said. This car feels more special then any other new car ive driven and I test drove new cars for 1 year. It feels like an audi or bmw. I drove both. Take your Hyundai, and I will take this and we will see who laughs last in 10 years when those Hyundai fall apart and see recall after recall. Ive done my research Hyundai,Kia, Genesis look great on the surface, but dive deep and you will see that they all suffer from bad quality control issues. Have fun throwing your money away with hard depreciation on the Hyundai, Kia, Genesis brands.
You do realize I agree with most of what you said, right? Let's be clear, this car takes the cake when it comes to my previous Hyundai Elantra and Jaguar X-Type. Is it perfect? No. Got to be transparent with it.
If you've seen my previous vids, I give this Integra great praise. This particular video is just for others that are currently in the market to see why they might have some doubt about this car. Let's say I'm playing devil's advocate on this one 😉
I like my mazda3 but the issue i have is the back seat is not really usable and the hatchback has less cargo than the civic/integra. Civics are cool. But im seeing civic hatches going for 30k and the integra going for 33k. Also i'd never buy VW. Unreliable hitler mobiles
Thank you for the laugh about VW vehicles. Yeah that's pretty interesting that the backseat of the Mazda 3 is not as reliable and less cargo. Would think that it would have the same comfort and room since the past generation models were good. I had the Mazda 626 as my first car and it was great
@@foureyeddriver the mazda has been pretty reliable but the back seats of the civic and integra have around 2.5 inches more legroom and more cargo space with the seats up than the mazda3. They're closer to camry amounts of legroom. For now the mazda is fine but if I have kids I'll be trading
Very interesting. Enjoy the Mazda3 while you can before you grow your family@@joshabreu1156
I mean for me the manual transmission makes this very tempting
It's worth it!

"Looking like a catfish in the front " had me dying 🤣 💀 😂 😭
Lmao!
Don’t forget warranty and resale value and YOU bought it!
True
ngl all these cars get out shined and out done by the e46 m3, you can get it for cheaper than all of them and it’ll last you even longer and return your value, but that’s just me
True that the E46 M3 is a great and powerful sports sedan. Was looking into that model as well. Just the assurance of a brand new car with its warranties so I don't have to worry about pricey repairs from the jump
I c ppl compare the integra to the 11th gen si every second and recommend ppl to get that. But I never see anyone compare it to a sport touring civic. I think about this integra as a beefier 11th gen sport touring since they are literally both a civic pretty much, with similar technology and are both more luxurious than an si. Besides you can just tune the sport touring to b a bit faster than the integra right? Shouldn’t b impossible to get at least +20hp outta the civic. And some of the luxury features that the integra has you can just install in the civic in the after market.
Very good point. Some did mention the almost identical comparison between the Integra A-Spec and the Civic Sport Touring. I would say the Sport is a bit faster since the A-Spec is a bit heavier.
@@foureyeddriver That would kinda suck since the sport touring is at 180 hp and it’s not meant to b fast by any means at all.
@@logankimp5563 Ah! I forgot that the sport touring only has 180hp. That's probably why majority of the comparison is between the Si and the Integra due to the engine, power, and torque
The beep noise is horrible. Busted my ear drums
No worries. I'll replace it with a dolphin call next time 🐬
The bees didn't like the review 😂😂😂
They were upset that I was against the Integra 🤣🐝🐝
Elentra n has engine fire issues wrx is not a smooth ride acura wins

Hey guy I want to thank you for keeping it real about the Integra, not impressed. It's all about looks and not enough of the things that Really matter at this price point.
You're very welcome. As the owner, I have to say the good, bad, and ugly to help others make their decision with this car.
2yr warrant? Drug test this man, please.
*warranty* and say no to drugs 😊
I like everything about the car except the engine, It needs that 2.0 N/A 4 Banger
Agreed!

Can someone tell me how these dudes like this guy out here owning these cars sounding like McDonalds workers yet im over here scraping by havin to sell 3 million a year in my sales job
There is nothing wrong working at McDonalds. The goal is to own a franchise 😉
But reliability.
Yeah...Acura is very reliable 😔
So, in summary your top 3 reasons for why people shouldn't buy this car are 1. You personally don't think it's fast enough. 2. The Honda Civic SI is $8k cheaper 3. There are other cars to consider that have more horsepower. None of these reasons really justify why someone considering buying this car shouldn't go for it.
Also, the difference in MSRP between the 2023 Integra A-Spec and Civic SI is around $3.3k, not $8k. Obviously Acura is always going to be the more expensive option because it's Honda's luxury brand. The added cost gets you better tech, higher quality materials, and features that aren't available in Hondas like, noise reduction systems, more sophisticated infotainment systems, and enhanced driving aids. If someone decides to purchase an Acura over Honda, they've already taken all of this into consideration.
Oh and if horsepower is important to you, why didn't you go for the Type-S instead? Would've gotten you 340hp. Did you have a chance to test drive your Integra prior to purchase?
If you include the doc fees, NJ State tax, and other tariffs, it was around $8k for the difference. I went to both Clinton Acura and Clinton Honda to gather that data while I was car shopping back in 2022.
In any case, I customized an Integra Type-S for myself this past year. I made a video of that as well. When the price was set after arrival and wanting to appraise my current A-Spec with great credit, I could not justify spending over $700/month for an Acura Integra. Might as well save that for a house which I'm currently in the market for or buy a better premium car.
Also, while discussing with other Integra owners and would be owners that passed up on this car in person, the major complaint was the horsepower and the price. The price wasn't an issue for me since the Integra was in my range of what I would be comfortable to spend but I definitely do understand that why spend more for a comfier version with the additional LSD of a Civic if you can just get the Civic Si.
You want more horsepower get a big turbo
Hmmm. You're on to something 🤔
Reason #4: loud road noise.
Honestly, the Civic SI had a louder road noise when I went out on a test drive in 2022. This car is not bad with it. However, I cannot say that there aren't any other cars that suppress road noise better.
@@foureyeddriver I bought some dynamat to see if I can improve the road noise and also get a better bass response from the sub. I’m getting used to the road noise. My last car was a 2019 Q50 and that car was dead quiet even at triple-digit speeds.
@@anthonys6657 I just checked out your recommendation of Dynamat and it looks highly required for the noise. Thanks for that
The Honda Civic Touring is a better purchase than the Integra.
It could be if you're not a fan of the luxurious options, more HP than the touring, and the look of the Integra.
@foureyeddriver I went from a 2022 Honda Civic Touring to an New Integra Aspec. The Honda Touring is better financially than the Integra. You get more for your buck.
@@marcellusbivens754 Financially yes, the Civic Touring is more bang for the buck than the Integra
