Looking down into the crater in full eruption. I fly right over the lava pouring out of the Fagradalsfjall vent, forming waves of lava down the mountainside. All footage in realtime. You see lava splashes and see right inside the volcano, all captured in the late Iceland evening sunshine. Incredible.

Happy flying everyone.... Ian - Věda a technologie
A fairly special flight, with the heart rate slightly up :) I was flying around 50 - 80 metres above the lava pool; when the 2 Pro came back, it's underside was warm but no signs of scorching or melting. Tough going!
Yes, well tutorials are great but eventually it is nice to see them put in to practice in interesting places and in the hands of an expert. Keep on giving the rest of us something to aspire to, as in ‘after all the education and practice, I want to do that!!’
Well thanks for putting your equipment on the line for we viewers who're unlikely to see this up close and personal, so to speak. There's not a lot of footage of the magma pool on youtube, due to people filming from the ground. Just watching the evolution of Geldingadalir is fascinating. To go from a relatively small fissure with chimneys to this beautiful
volcano is a privilege and I very much appreciate your efforts. PS: Great soundtracks.
Watching this had my heart rate slightly up 😬
The crater looks very full at that time.
Massive thank you for sharing
An immense pool full of bubbling and hot lava that spills from one side, a beautiful and unique spectacle.
You find the BEST most evocative music to pair with your videos. Absolutely breathtaking.... literally brings me to tears, it's so beautiful (sights and sounds). Thank you for helping those of us who cannot be there experience this ongoing display of Mother Nature at her finest. I'd give anything to be there myself....
Thanks for the good words! I do try and make the music fit the subject; glad you're enjoying it... Cheers, ian
Truly a lifetime experience. Breath-taking footage of Nature's power!
Can’t wait for the moment you catch that lava drop at the back because it stops so fast boom down it goes that will be memorable shot too
This is hypnotic to watch
Thank you 🙏
Love you can see the waves of lava. So fascinating.
I salute you volcano drone pilots. Thanks for the awesome footage 👏👏👏
Fantastic. This is what drones were made for!
Completely agree, if you are brave enough :-)
Left me speechless Ian. Another stunning bit of cinematography.
Amazing! Particularly liked/impressed with your down facing tracking shot in sync with the waves of larva cracking the congealing crust.
Absolutely stunning and mesmerising footage ! 😊👍
Beautiful footage! I like the long cuts best and love when I can hear the wind and gurgling. It doesn’t need music.
Thanks for the good words! Sadly the drone doesn't record the actual booms and gurgles you hear with your ears when there, and I didn't ave my gun-mic with me, so i couldn't record them.
Just so spectacular. What a great use of the technology. Well done. Please keep on impressing us.
Amazing series of videos. Definitely agree with you, they are your best ever. Some of the most impressive I’ve seen full stop. You must be proud.
Thanks David; very happy this end... :)
That is amazing. I've never seen boiling and waves of rock before. Thank you for sharing this.
Stunning footage.
Beautiful photography. Love the music you chose
Another fantastic video. Thanks for including the Drone type in the title 😊
It’s just mesmerising, watching it bubble away like that👍🏻
It sure is. Imagine actually being there. I'd be camping out on one of those hill tops...lol
Absolutely stunning! Bravo!!
Incredible Ian !! Great footage Thank you
Fabulous music choice. Yes, and the drone footage is great, too! :)
WOW that is incredible footage
Beautiful video! Thank you for sharing.
Incredible Ian! Daring and worth it. It's incredible to think that when we started watching this back in March that the main vent "Bob" is now almost completely buried.
Simply fantastic!!
Awesome footage Ian. Well done.
Looks amazing Ian. Thanks for sharing 👌👍
Mesmerising 😁👌👍
Wow, amazing stuff - thanks for sharing.
Absolutely stunning 😍
Fantastic footage. Thank you for sharing.
Some footage that !!! Awesome !!!
Wow brilliant footage Ian 👍😊
Spectacular Ian.
Fantastic, Ian!
Greetings from Los Angeles. That's some of the nicest footage I've seen of the volcano in some time. I normally tune in to watch you talk about your drones. This right here is on a whole other level. Well done!
Thnaks for the good words! will be posting a more narrative video on the volcano shortly. cheers.
@@IaninLondon WAITIN patiently.
Who dares wins. Great footage Ian, have to take risks sometimes to get the best images and these are very special. Thanks for sharing.
Stunning Ian, absolutely mesmeric. :)
Thanks 👍🏻👍🏻
Every time when I look at this, I feel a sense of pride, relaxation but yet a feeling of a volatile beginning for this Volcano youngster Gelingadalir.
Nice musical accompaniment
Outstanding!
Beautiful!
WOW, I'm speechless.
SPECTACULAR!
Hypnotic!
👍
Mesmerising, stunningly beautiful and completely provocative. I’m amazed at the workings of this earth. Why are we humans so hell bent on destroying it? This footage is worth money mate.
Cheers again fella :)
Brave with the Mavic Pro….💰💰💰Fantastic shots
Cheers David :)
You're excelling yourself Ian, stunning video, never seen anything like it, you must have big balls flying so close to it. 👍👍👏👏👏
The old heart rate was up a bit..... :)
My favorite Drone ever. The old girl still takes great footage..🇬🇧
Amazing footage again
Well done Ian this has to be the most interesting/ Fascinating drone video on you tube ever!
Thank you! 👍🏻👍🏻
Well done Ian, a great video. You're far braver than me with your M2Pro !
No words just a big 👍👍
Excellent video Ian, keep it going. I just signed up with the UV8 for the training recommended by you. I wish I could do this what you do one day. You been a great inspiration for me.
Amazing footage 👏🏆👌
This is amazing footage Ian I'm surprised the drone lasted that long. Can't wait to chat to you on the Drone Show Live.
Looking forward to it 🤠
Whats not to love about this? The quality is up there with the very best natural history output from the BBC. Amazing footage. It would be very interesting to see some of telemetry overlay too if you were ever minded to upload 'bonus material' for the drone geeks. Enjoy the rest of your trip. It's wet a grey here.
I am doing a follow up on how to get here and do this; I'll incljudr some of the flight logs...

Thank you very much ... it's so f....g beautyfull...
Another level this 😁
Amazing, I simply cannot believe this is London
Er, this was Iceland.... 🤠
Awesome vid 👍
Really cool!
now that's how you get a whole bunch of new subs.. great adventure
Fantastic
You're getting more confident and flying dangerously close to the lava... It would be nice to have a thermometer on the drone to see how hot it gets. Keep sharing your stunning footage... We are loving it!
The base was pretty warm when I got it back 😀
Truly magnificent! Unbelievable footage. You are brave to fly over that volcano. I would think the props would of melted!
Wow😮
Fantastic video Ian
cheers Lyn! best yet I reckon :)
Amazing shots as always Sir Ian :) I wish I was there with my DJI Air 2S hehe
Awesome!
Absolutely stunning - the event itself and the way you have captured it and put it together. Well done there Ian, thanks for sharing 🙌
Cheers Bruce! 👍🏻👍🏻
That 2 Pro clearly holds up well beyond DJI’s recommended operating environment!
Er, yes....... :)
Amazing
Incredible shots, be careful of yourself and your gears 🙏👍
Thanks Gracias Gracias y más Gracias !!!
Wow! Amazing video - my heart rate would have been up also worrying about the heat on the drone.
This is some proper epic filming mate. Bloody brilliant well done. I would of been flapping having my expensive drone that close lol. Good skills buddy 👏👍👌🙌😉
Thanks 👍
Awesome filming Ian, and respect to you. No way would i have the B...s to fly over that. Mesmerizing to watch though and thanks for sharing.
Cheers again 😀👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
True cinematography, amazing footage. Looking forward to a vlog where you talk about your adventures, settings, and other views you experience while in Iceland. Thank you so much for providing these experiences with us!
Yep, working on a more bloggy version on these clips..... Cheers
Awesome - wish I'd had access to drones back in 1986 when I visited Iceland and a 6th former!
Like me in New Zealand 20 years ago....
Excellent
Excellent bit of filming. It really looks like another planet. Thank you for sharing this with us. Glad your drone was ok. New sub here. :-)
Cheers for that 🤠👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks for the fireworks for the fourth of July. This is beyond words.
That is an incredible video Ian. Also, all of my own drone videos somehow feel completely inferior to the majesty of a live volcano! :D
Stunning, simply stunning!!! You’re a brave man flying over it, the heat must have been massive, great stuff Ian, thank you
Awesome video mate, much love from Australia :)
Cheers for that!
Mind-blowing video.
Yess- v. stunning- great photography and good choice of drone that survived the heat!!
Stunning shots Ian. Amazing subject matter, but captured brilliantly - with great skill and quality. Great stuff!
Wow, again! Looking down into the crater is hypnotising. Ian :-)
Stunning. You must be so chuffed getting that footage especially right over like that
Wow! That is just spectacular footage! Drones are amazing for this! 😃👍
I was hoping for this. When I heard from another youtuber that the eruptions had stopped my first thought was: flying drone time! This video explains why we dont see any eruptions. The lava lake is just cooking but not spilling anything. But I also heard that there have been some earthquakes registered recently which cause concern. So methinks that the volcano is just taking a mere break. The so-called calm before the storm.
As you can see from the linked video at teh end, it's very much alive!
Wow
Stunning, absolutely stunning.
Beautifully done footage 👏👍.
Thank you for sharing 🌋.
I see waves emanating outward moving downstream through the flow as wide dark bands flowing away from the erupting gasses and lava.
Yep; check out the linked video at the end.....
Really Awesome Video Ian!! Thank you for sharing which drone you were using, and how high you were flying over the active volcano crater. What an amazing trip you are having!!
Mavic 2 Pro at around 50 - 100 metres above the lava 👍🏻👍🏻
Absolutely stunning ian 👍👏
