- If there's small gold at the surface and big gold at the bottom, what is in the sky? That's the question we set out to answer today. This obviously has it's challenges since it's way above the ground. Luckily I've built many stupid operations before so at least I had experience on my side. All it took really was some boxes and roof pieces, plus the usual pipe and mining pieces. Plus time, it always takes time. In the end I found out what kind of gold comes from the sky, while using basically only pieces that were already there.

I think Max is probably laughing now because that is most likely not highest that you can build. It seems more that DF reach the side edge of the buildable area on this claim. I bet if DF would start to loop his "stairs" around it could build even higher than that.

Oh yeah? My grandpa got hit in the head with a lump of gold before. Some bird dropped it on him, gave him a concussion and made the tiniest cut on his head. It weighed like, 1/4 a pound or something small like that

@@terryfuldsgaming7995 and I got a free 55 Chevy truck, it was abandoned under a bridge. Some people just have incredible luck, him and my grandmother actually went looking for who it belonged to for the longest time. It had a few numbers engraved on it
Also a bird carrying 1/4 a pound is very reasonable. Large birds can easily handle that, as my uncle has had a few cats get taken by some eagles
@@terryfuldsgaming7995 a 5os bird can not carry a 1/4lb nugget. 2 african swallows can if you tie a piece of bark under the guided dorsel feather. But again, they are non-migratory.

To be fair thats probably the most reliable design so far, you should do 20-50 setups of that and have them all fall onto a platform of conveyors that push it all onto a centralized conveyer system, from there into a sorting system and then auto smelters, it might be small resources, but, its no backstuff and could be a lot of fun

2. Mine gold
3. Profit
Replace smoking weed with drinking 30 cups of coffee
Replace 30 cups of coffee with 1 week of milk

DF, I’ve had a crazy day... my neighbor manipulated me... She told me there have been attempted kidnappings of children in the neighborhood. And I have an 8 year old step kid.. so I’m paranoid and stressed for three days now.. cops at her house at 3 in the morning... like every night... and finally I talk to another neighbor and find out she’s crazy and it’s her nephews trying to help. this is a great glimpse into the game, I'm curious now if the important part is where the Miner is or where the dirt processor is, like if you had a drill in the sky feed down to a processor underground what would happen, or visa-versa

You should try using more filters. You have to fix them occasionally, but they're essentially like failover switches. Install 4 or 5 and ALL drills and extractors further down the pipe take almost no damage because the water is completely filtered. Install more filters and more of them will have to break before the other equipment slowly starts taking damage.
Filters are essential to making an almost-entirely self-reliant setup as opposed to one you have to closely monitor while it operates.
A tip for you in the future. If you hold E with a crystal you can place it directly inside a container or at least easier.

Gold size is based on Y level of the gold at the time its mines from the Goliaths. You will always get small chunks from anything topside.

Since you like seemingly impossible tasks. Try to make a player cannon in satisfactory where you launch out then get caught by another cannon, and so on and so forth.
It would be cool if you could just go afk and you will constantly be getting flung around the map
I'm afraid of heights and also a big fan of roller coasters and similar rides that mess you up, so watching DF jump down from that height all the time had my stomach twist in nervous excitement every time. Apparently, I love to torture myself, just like him.

I thought it would have been easy to figure out that it's the position the dirt is mined from that depends on the quality.
Basically you want to place/mine from the lowest possible point on the map.
Even if you dig the dirt from the highest possible spot as long as it's placed on the lowest point you'll get good quality.

Those drills have long drill arms, so if you made a hole below it that went down to the bottom, you could mine gold from the sky still and get good gold

ahh mining in the sky. its pants iv done it.. too many times... mining dirt from lower levels basically means ur getting small elements, mining from bed rock at full pressure on ur drills and harvester means ur elements are bigger and worth more
