    Watched this video, then I watched "Cashing Out" on Tubi. Thanks for sharing your experience and especially how much money you are making off it. While Hollywood transitions from making superhero movies to spy movies with the same budgets people sometimes just want to see other people's stories. Question: Is this a director's cut? It feels like it. I love the scene where Big Daddy's outside of his home and he looks at his daughter in the window! That's storytelling/directing !!!! I liked that moment for some reason.

    • @alexsrednoselac

      We can pretend this is a director's cut haha. I didn't have anyone telling me what to remove, so this version is pretty close to the original script. I appreciate you watching! I enjoy that scene as well. I hope to see more people like me making interesting movies outside of the norm.

      @@alexsrednoselac I'm signing up to Filmhub today. I've been on the fence for a minute before making the decision. I have quite a few shorts and two low budget indie features that I sent to film festivals but when they didn't get accepted I didn't have another move. I'm sure there are many people are in the same situation with a bunch of finished project that may need a tweak before uploading to filmhub. I did remenber what happened to distribbr which scared me away from this kind of distro until now. Thanks! Nos Trovia Alex!

    Hi Alex, great vid,. Could you do one covering Davinci export settings for FilmHub? I'm really lost with suitable export settings for my movie. I tried a ProRes plugin (as I'm Windows based) but the smallest file size I could produce was 711GB, which is over the 650GB that Filmhub allows.

  • @NightmareRestStop
    @NightmareRestStop Před 4 měsíci +2

    Bare in mind they also charge streaming services a $15000 a year subscription fee to be on the platform and get indie films. Film makers see none of that.

    • @vidart7287
      @vidart7287 Před měsícem

      Yeah, I cancelled my filmhub account last week and took all my titles off it. Just not worth it with the $99 monthly fee as you don't want them managing your titles on Prime Video as they can easily mess up international distribution, which is right now the biggest pull for views in terms of raw #s even though Prime pays garbage third world royalty rates. Better to just place your films on CZcams and Vimeo for free then giving it away for free to these streaming channels that pay pennies every month imo.

    Nice video and helpful tutorial! Question here, if you were to make a show and try to submit to film hub would it cost to add each episode on there would they count the episodes as movies or is it only the show they'll count it for? Their new packages seem very greedy so idk if it would be expensive to add a show on there...

    • @alexsrednoselac
      @alexsrednoselac  Před 5 měsíci +1

      I wouldn't think that uploading a series would be any different. The only real cost you are having to pay for is if you want to do any channels yourself that they offer and if you try to make changes are you submit. I don't think the number of episodes or how many movies you upload would change anything.

    Hi! Great video! I have a question less about Filmhub and more about Tubi specifically. Do you know if they are required to use every ad/chapter break provided to them? Or does the number of chapter breaks they use vary? I’m developing a film where the placement of the ad breaks would be very important. So, for example, if I were to provide 8 chapter breaks and they only use 5, it could mess with the experience.

    • @alexsrednoselac
      @alexsrednoselac  Před 4 měsíci +1

      I'm not 100% certain, but I don't see why they wouldn't use the provided chapter breaks. They are going to use whatever metadata is given to them, so that should be whatever you provide.

    • @alexsrednoselac
      @alexsrednoselac  Před 3 měsíci

    • @KevinWelbeck
      @KevinWelbeck Před 3 měsíci

      The way I uploaded I believe is what’s limiting the platforms it’s on.. the goal was to get on Tubi and has not happened. This film has won several awards at various festivals and so so. Quality wise of the film and everything else it should’ve been smooth and easy to get on there. Licensed back in October. Then I noticed I uploaded the wrong file that capped the film at 1080p and not my actual master file size in full resolution. So definitely want to get that version on there. Just wasn’t sure what happens when you double upload. I’ve contacted support but haven’t heard anything from them.
      Btw thanks for getting back to me. Appreciate any more insight

    • @alexsrednoselac
      @alexsrednoselac  Před 3 měsíci

      @@KevinWelbeck If you are not making a lot now, it may be best to take the film down and start from scratch. It's $99 per platform as opposed to $300 (I think) to take it down. I have not done this, so I'm really speculating on if this is a good strategy or not. But if that's how you feel then this may be the best route. Double uploading may cause more trouble with duplicate IDs. If you are only on a couple platforms then reuploading may be better.
