Despite it being the 5th Continent you've been to, Australia is also it's own island. We love our 'little' island home.
It is beautiful!
That Airbnb has millions dollar view for sure!
Yes!!! I loved the views.
Many years ago, we lived at Cremorne Point, 2 headlands into the Harbour west from the Zoo. We'd normally hear the lions throughout the night
Wow. I bet that was cool to hear and scary all at the same time đ€Șđ
@@williamsworld03 Not scary - the roars were much less noisy than standing next to the lion enclosure
@@williamsworld03 Neither really, but sometimes annoying. We just got used to it.
Hi guys love your video, those rock formations on the express way were carved out of the hills to create the roadway.
Thanks for sharing that info. It looked like they carved the highway out of the rocks. I think thatâs cool they didnât destroy all the rocks to make the road.
I hope you had a fab time â„ïž
We had an amazing time.
Great video. For exploring the city itself I wouldn't recommend hiring a car as a tourist. There's so much public transport and the new high speed underground "metro" opens in a few weeks too. We spent a few billion building it. But i guess you come from the USA where public transport is not good!
Thank you. Yes, coming from the US makes us a little leery of public transportation but living in Japan the public transportation is amazing!!!! We will try public transit next time we visit đ
I loveeeee Ana OMGGGGGG!!
Omg me too!! ANA is an amazing airline âïž
Shopping for breakfast foods? You were a short walk from great cafes at Blues Point Road and Kirribilli
lol yeah we tend to cook breakfast and eat out the other meals of the day. Iâm sure those cafe are delicious though.
@@williamsworld03 When we travel in Europe or Nth America, we try as much as possible to stay in rental apartments rather than hotels. It makes having breakfast in our own flat so much easier and more sensible. Then we have lunch and perhaps dinner out. It also gives a different sort of relationship with the city, we're more like short term residents than just passing through. In London for example, we found a pleasant flat the classic 10 minutes walk.from Harrods, and went back there several times later on. We'd buy something from Harrods for dinner that needed very little preparation and drink a matching bottle suggested by the staff in Harrods' bottle department to accompany whatever we'd just bought. We've not been to Europe since covid hit, and given our ages now, are unlikely to make the journey again. And of course, Harrods is no more
May I know the name/address of the AirBnB you were staying in Sydney?
I added the link to the listing in the video description if you want to check it out.
A very short point - you mention koala bears. Koalas are not bears, they are simply koalas.
I know they arenât bears but I thought they were still called that đ€Ș Thanks for sharing. Iâm so glad I got to see the Koalaâs in person. So adorable đš
@@williamsworld03 I don't know what happened to my reply. I don't remember how long ago it was when I last heard anyone here refer to them as bears. Glad that you enjoyed your encounter with them
I hope this information isn't too jarring but I think it's important to share the history of Australia as much as possible!
In the late 1700's Australia was colonised by the British and Europeans - hence the overwhelming white and growing multi-cultural population.
Aboriginal Australians and Torres Strait Islanders (who we don't refer to as Natives as it's disrespectful within our unique context) are the traditional owners of the land. Yet as a white government was erected through (horrific) colonisation from the 1780's onwards, Australia has been part of the Commonwealth - Britain's King is our King. You may notice Australia actually has two national flags - our commonwealth flag (union jack and stars) as well as our Australian Aboriginal flag (black and red, with a yellow circle in the middle).
Whilst this country was industrialised by the British and Europeans, the land rightfully belongs to Indigenous Australians :)
Hope this helps explain the story behind our architecture and style of cities! Loved this travel vlog a lot and have fun in Cairns!
Thank you very much for sharing the history of Australia đŠđș I noticed the two flags which helped me learn more about Australia. Itâs nice to see the Aboriginal Australians being recognized and itâs sad what happened there. Iâm very grateful to have had the opportunity to visit and I look forward to coming again one day.
What a load of horseđ©. Australia belongs to each and every Australian (those that fought and died for it, those that work hard and pay taxes to build its infrastructure, those that lived and loved the country for generations. Eff off with your leftist BS. So divisive and disgusting
What a load of leftist BS
@@Glenn-ei3xp but it's true? The majority of our architecture stems from European and British influence?
@@brontee the architecture yes. But you say the land belongs to them. How about those that fought and died for this country? How about those that actually work and pay taxes all their lives? Etc etc etc. the country doesnât belong to them? If you truly believe what you say maybe you need to give over the keys to your home. Itâs not yours. Ridiculous
Yeh, Sydneyâs OKâŠ. But itâs not PerthâŠ. đ
Lol tell me more. Weâve considered visiting Perth too.
