Hi Tom, glad you mentioned the 5% interest. I was going to let you know about this after your previous video but then completely forgot. You were talking about Copy Traders not using all of your funds. I was going to say that if for example a Trader you copied didn't use 50% of their money, then they would be getting interest on it, however the people copying them would not. Interest is only paid on your Cash Available. The person you copy would have their 50% not being used as Cash Available but your 50% is still copying them so is not Cash Available and therefore doesn't earn interest. Some Copy Traders don't use all of their funds to trade, this keeps their risk score lower and also gains them interest at the same time.

The interest I was looking at does seem to take money account holdings into account, but doesn't it also give you interest on your 'available balance' (funds in your trading account which you're not currently using) I'll go and read it all again. Someone below pointed out that if the PIs aren't using all of their funds, they're earning interest on that portion which they're not currently using. Nice. I guess that can't show up in their stats though or there'd be a huge mis-match between them and the copiers...
A small bit I noticed on the Club tiers that may affect some users is that the amount invested has a note of excluded products. Can't find a list of these so not sure if it is different depending on your country. I noticed as I was Gold tier for quite a while and then got put in a 90-day grace period for going below the level. As I am currently heavy into crypto, it seems they excluded crypto from the invested total. It could be a UK-specific rule like no crypto ETF for me either. Although I am technically below the Gold tier threshold I have retained all of the benefits. Could be a waiver as I had been Gold for a long time or the 90-day grace not caught up with me.

Membership tiers are determined by tier balance. We can break it down this way… Tier balance is the available cash in your eToro trading account ➕ total amount invested in the eToro trading account ➖ Excluded Products ➕ cash value available in your eToro Money account. Please note: Excluded products for this purpose are: Leveraged CFD* positions Crypto positions if you are a UK resident" www.etoro.com/about/club/ Yep, it's the cryptos... That's a bit harsh eh.
@@SocialTrading Looks like UK FCA giving people the shaft once again. Also can't buy any Cypto ETF's plus a few other items have trade button greyed out. Lucky make enough on normal stocks and the bits of Crypto until next year then transition into normal equities anyway.

Nice point - I didn't realise that only U.S securities needed to be listed in the 13F... Berkshire seems to have quite a few Japanese companies in their portfolio as well as a Chinese transportation one. Thanks.

One thing I've realised is just how much tax laws can change from place to place, and I think that's one it's best to be sure about.

I had a question about a particular person you are copying I would really like to copy Amit Kupfer and the last time I checked you was also copying him with about $800 I tried to copy him but I was greeted with a message saying something like you need to deposit $2000 into your account before you can trade but it gives me no explanation why? I can’t copy him with $500 or whatever I choose just wondering if you had a an answer for this, cheers
Hey there Leo, nope - that one's a mystery to me... I just went and looked at his profile and he's got 8.2K copiers, but he's an Elite Pro PI, so I wouldn't have thought that it's some sort of copier-cap... I've never come across that one before. Have you reached out to eToro to see what they say? Amit's had a downturn very recently, but not sure why that would trigger that sort of thing..

I think, that the best way to copy Warren Buffet is to buy BRK.B. Because 13F contains just the shares of publicly traded companies in the US.

Interest is per month not per year.
I think that's the payout frequency, rather than the amount. I don't think 5% per month would be sustainable. I'd put all my money in straight away :)
