    Brother I recommend you get yourself a bat so you don’t have to worry about getting pelted w your own ice when the sob gets in the chest. Other than that just work on gettin the gaff under the fish and lift, the gaff will do its job

    If you get a gaff with a smaller hook, you will have an easier time sinking it into fish that size. Also, if you pop open an artery in the gills or slice the tail to bleed them out when you first catch them, it will improve the quality of the meat you end up with. Nice job out there. You certainly know how to find them & hook them.

    I strongly recommend you invest in a decent definitive Jet Ski Gaff. This old traditional shaped head is a disaster....Look at the Rusler Jet Ski Gaffs with it's diamond shaped head and machine milled three way cutting edge point...All stainless steel! You will never miss again either from above or below the target...Oh! and made in New Zealand.....where quality still means something !! I could also add the investment of not a bat but the refinements and effectiveness of an IKI Tool!

The fishpro is a pretty sweet setup, if you’re looking for something ready to go outa the box. If you’re looking at doing custom rigging, the Yamaha FXHO or Kawasaki ultra LX are my preference. Stability on the fishpro can’t be beat without adding pods or floatation collars to the other models, which is nice

      wedocq crossing the Columbia River bar, was unrestricted when I started, but the coast guard put a 26’ restriction on it while I was crossing...that was a bit intense, the CR bar is no joke

    What is a good way to attach a rod holder or two to a jet ski? Thanks.

    • @PNWJetskiFishingLLC
      @PNWJetskiFishingLLC  Před 5 lety

      Mason Gregory easiest way for a casual user is to combine the rod holder with the cooler or kill bag. My setup video shows some options for that. Also the website, pnwjetskifishing.com

      Do you ever have issues where the "wildlife" exceeds your skis ability? I'm interested in trying this form of fishing but I'm somewhat apprehensive because of the sharks i see regularly.

    • @PNWJetskiFishingLLC
      @PNWJetskiFishingLLC  Před 5 lety

      John Holmes for the most part they leave you alone. We see them fairly often tuna fishing, and have only seen 1 nearshore (though I’m sure there’s been more close by, just the water is too murky to know)

      @@PNWJetskiFishingLLC Thanks for letting me know. I wouldn't call my apprehension a fear but it's a healthy respect for the apex predator of the sea. That's why i keep asking. I think I should start picking out a runner that I would feel comfortable with. I actually designed and built a fighting chair for a friend's runner. I'll have to make another
