  • Bread Pudding with Whiskey Cream Sauce!
    • Bread Pudding with Whi...
So what makes this prized recipe so good? It’s the secret bread ingredient. Bread pudding is traditionally made with old bread, but this recipe will make a fluffy and great tasting bread pudding. And the next best thing is the whiskey sauce! Save it later to put in your coffee.
The recipe is below and you’ll also find this one and many other recipes in our cookbook: A Taste of Cowboy…
Check out our BEST SELLING cookbook, A Taste of Cowboy. Available at bookstores nationwide, Amazon amzn.to/2uBl4EM
    and www.kentrollins...
Bread Pudding with Whiskey Cream Sauce
    3 eggs
    1 ½ cups sugar
    1 stick butter, melted
1 teaspoon cinnamon, or to taste
1 teaspoon nutmeg, or to taste
    2 cups milk
    10 regular sized hamburger buns
    1 teaspoon vanilla
    1. Whisk together the eggs and sugar. Slowly add in the butter.
    2. Stir in the cinnamon and nutmeg.
    3. Whisk in about half of the milk. Add vanilla
    4. Begin with half of the hamburger buns. Tear into pieces and add to the mixture.
    5. Begin slightly mashing the buns. Be careful not too mash too much, you’ll want some of the buns to stay in pieces.
    6. Slowly add the remaining buns and milk, alternating until you’ve reached the desired consistency.
    7. Scrape into a buttered 10-inch Dutch oven or 8x10 casserole dish. If baking inside, cook at 350 degrees F. for about 40 to 45 minutes or until set and sponge-like.
    Whiskey Cream Sauce
    1 stick butter
    1 cup sugar
    2 cups heavy cream
    ¼ to ½ cup whiskey
    1. Melt the butter in a small saucepan. Stir in sugar.
    2. Remove from heat and let cool just slightly. Stir in the cream. Return to the heat and continue whisking until warmed.
    3. Stir in the whiskey. Continue cooking and stirring until warmed through. Let boil about 1 minute to burn off the alcohol, if desired.
    4. Pour over warm bread pudding and serve.

22 of your videos today. Copied down a bunch of recipes, cut holes in a shovel, made 4 trivets, split some red and white dry oak. Tomorrow is my birthday, and my wife asked what i wanted her to make me for dinner...I said I'm makin' Kent and Shannon's bread pudding with whiskey sauce. There was a pause in the conversation right then...had to explain what i had been doing all day...then she was OK with it. LOL Thank you both for all you have done together. It's a beautiful deal. God Bless. Steve

Cowboy Kent and Mrs. Shannon! OH MY Goodness🎉 This truly is the BEST bread pudding I ever ate! Oh and that Whiskey Cream Sauce! Words do not describe.😅 It would be good on an old flip flop😅!I'm not a big whiskey drinker so I used it like I would vanilla maybe a little more. But you definitly need it! The sugar cuts alot of the harshness of whiskey, if you think you won't like it. DONT LEAVE IT OUT.

I haven't made this one, but I made one from a 1790 recipe. The bread I used was a loaf of wheat bread I had made in my Dutch oven (bread pan inside the Dutch oven, and coals only around the outside). The bread turned out a little dry, the family didn't want to eat it. Rather than waste it, I used it for bread pudding, and it turned out great. I baked the pudding in a cast iron skillet and used honey as a topping. Whisky sauce is for haggis!

I just made this. And it turned out great. Now like always I changed a few things but not much. First I don't like Crown Royal, so I used the only whiskey I drink that is Jack Daniel's. Also I don't have a cast iron dutch oven. But mine turned out great. I was a little worried the bread was crumbled up to much, but I just followed Mrs. Shannon's advise and it was okay. Thank you both for this recipe. It was so easy to do.

You two are the best in the business...your recipes work very well up in the wilderness of the Great North Woods of Maine... we have no cattle so the moose and bears will have to do...
thanks for your first class work

I started reading it already and I'm very happy with it as a book as well as a cookbook. The history, entertaining stories and pictures help to add extra layers of entertainment to a "cookbook" .

I made a boiled pudding not long ago and the sauce for the top of it was 1/3 butter, 1/3 sugar, and 1/3 spiced rum.
When the pudding was gone, everyone wanted me to make shots of the sauce. lol
Ill have to give that cream sauce a tray, it looks good.
