Some things, in the world and in my life, are better now (May 2022); but I greatly miss the early 2000s. PS. This morning, I was fifteen minutes later to work-because Avril ("Sk8er Boy" this time) came on in the car, and I was singing along and missed my turn.
The early 2000s were flourishing with the best talents in music, animation, and television. The culture as a whole was richer and more genuine back then. Now we have social media, where everybody does the same TikTok "trends". I think what's missing most nowadays is the individuality and tbh actual talent.

Yes you can see how she improved her pitching over the years. Tbh she was always quite pitchy at the lower pitches in her early 2000 performances. Her album versions were probably auto tuned really well, and was one of the first polished auto tuned rock albums that defined the sound of that era.
For me it's not just the "rawness", I just like the sound itself, does that make sense? Just the very sound of her voice when she sung lower back then, or just generally her sound from back then.
