A performance of 'Abide With Me; 'tis Eventide' during the 193rd Annual General Conference of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on April 1-2, 2023.
This song, sung by this choir, was the best song of the conference. Absolutely amazing. Well done! Thank you for sharing your talents and bringing the Spirit in such a beautiful way.
Perfection! Very soothing. Thankyou University choir. So wonderful to hear every word and you sure dont need an organ. Sometimes I feel the organ overlays the voices too strongly. This was refreshing and comforting
One of my favorite hymns! The arrangement is beautiful with melodies and harmonies mixing and floating into the Heavens! This must be how a choir of angels sounds! I was uncontrollably crying by the end. Thank you for posting. ❤
I’ve always lived this hymn-this arrangement especially. The second verse with the men and higher tenor mix throughout, awesome. Chills, as others have commented. I’d love to get the arrangement for our choir.
We did this arrangement in high school more than 50 years ago. I can’t remember who the arrangement is by, maybe Crawford Gates or Spencer Cornwall, but it is available.
I love this old arrangement. I sang it at Skyline High School in Salt Lake City more than 50 years ago. I can’t remember who arranged it. I wish they would put that info on the screen for Conference like they do for Music and the Spoken Word. Was it Spencer Cornwall? Crawford Gates? Lowell Durham? By the way, if you look in the LDS hymnal you’ll see the preferred capitalization of the title. It should be Abide with Me, ‘Tis Eventide.
Man, this was a beautiful arrangement! Chills when the men started singing. The Church is true, have a great day!
This had to be the most beautiful arrangement I have ever heard of this hymn.
So peaceful!! One of my favorite hymns. It relaxes me and keeps my headaches down a bit.

Hi Lee, thanks for your comment. We're looking into this and will get back to you soon.
this was arranged by Crawford Gates for BYU choirs in 1955
I participated in the choir, this was the Crawford Gates arrangement!
@@ezraross6792 Ah. Thank you! So it wasn’t too old when we did it in 1970-71. I have a scratchy recording of our high school choir singing it.
Who are these youth, and who was their conductor? Simply outstanding!
Which choir is this?
byu combined choirs :)
What choir was this
Thank you for your question. The choir was a combined choir from Brigham Young University.
That was my question too. I thought it was a BYU choir. The bass part was so beautiful! Just outstanding.
This was a truly beautiful rendition of a favorite for so many.
No accompaniment from the organ is what made it crisp and clear.
Wonderful!
I loved the bass too! Gave me chills! Well done!
I’m at 2:57… I was hoping they wouldn’t do an unflattering under-the-chin shot… lol!
No me da nisueño por estas musicas son muy Espirituales
