This is such a fantastic video, and you guys honestly make the most interesting and visually pleasing vids on YT! I am so excited about how your glazing turns out - it is a bit of a lottery when you don't know how the glaze will react. Also, how wonderful you returned and took us along your creative journey. The food and their pottery looked exquisite.
Such a delightful video! It’s so exciting to see you and Hige working together on your pottery and also enjoying good times with friends. Can’t wait to see the continuation of the story! 👏👏👏👏👏👏

Nagano is where my grandmother came from! Such a lovely place! Also, I'm super excited about the potteries you guys made! 🥳 So lucky to have dinner with the place owner! ty for the video! I always enjoy the trip! 😄
Thank you so much and we are so happy to hear that you enjoyed! Nagano has so many lovely places to visit and also stunning landscape too that we love🌵
What a great video, so interesting. Looking forward to seeing the results. When I visited Sweden we were shown around my friend’s Dad’s glassblowing workshop, that was fascinating too, I wonder if there are any near you?
Seen it now, thanks (I’ve been catching up from the first to the latest). I’m so impressed with the glazes and even think the broken plate is a happy accident, it’ll look really good with some gold. ❤
Oh! This video has made me so happy :) There is art and beauty everywhere here. I can't wait to see how your glazes turned out. When I come back to Japan, I absolutely want to spend time in this village. Thank you once again for a wonderful video 🙏
Thank you so much! Yes, if you have a chance to visit Japan again, this place is really our recommendation🙌 How our glaze turned out… it’s coming tonight so hope you’ll enjoy it!
I can see the pieces you glazed will look beautiful. Glazing is very experiential. It takes some time to become comfortable and quick with glazing. And the clay body--porcelain, stoneware, iron content--all will interact with the glaze to produce various results. If this becomes a hobby you can then also make your own glazes and by adding or subtracting various chemicals your glazes can be changed. Often just the most tiny addition or subtraction of a chemical will produce widely different outcomes. And a glaze in a gas kiln (reduction) and in an electric kiln ( oxidation) will produce very different colors and surfaces. Often a bright glaze in one type of kiln will look very dull in the other kiln. Glazes are made for specific temperatures (they are called "cone" temperatures. So a cone 6 glaze in a cone 8 kiln might completely melt off the ceramic piece and attach your bowl or plate to the kiln shelf. I look forward to seeing the results of your kiln firing! Thanks for the video post. I think you might be inspired by the pieces made by my friend Shino Takeda (based in Brooklyn, NY). All her work is handmade--she doesn't throw on the wheel--but her glazing and color choices are so nice. Here is her instagram. instagram.com/shinotakeda/
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge! It was so fun to work with glazes so we’ll definitely try pottery again, I have a feeling I’d do it as my hobby…! Also thanks for sharing your friend’s work, love her playful style, both shapes and colours! It made us want to experiment more..!
Hello! :) I will be visiting Negano in March and would love to go here! Are you able to provide a link / details for the inn where you make the pottery? Thank you for the video!!
Very much enjoying your pottery content! 🤎 I am a ceramicist in Australia and I would love to visit the ceramic supply shop in Nagano on my next visit. Please can you share how I can find it? An address if possible please? Thank you 😊
