Lovely.....appreciate the British Railways for maintaining the steam locomotives to such perfection in the current era.
@BoneYard In india we have only two steamies those work
It's not the British Railways, it's private enthusiasts that rebuild, maintain and run them.
@@Thursdaym2 I mean the national collection used to and I still think is the government
British railways can’t even keep the trains they are supposed to run running.
@@callumw9809 no no it's no No.9 is private tornado is private the kings are heritage and the B1 mayflower is private and the other B1 is heritage no government involved
Isn't it amazing that we took fire and water, two opposing forces, and mixed them together to make such powerful machines.
Yep
that r extinct 😢😔
Edit:some places😅
Fuck yea it is buddy that’s why we’re gods
Well, neither of them is a force actually…
Pah! None of them are faster than me
Gordon The Big Engine u are my infance XD
Uh, not even 4:10?
2:01 We found spencer
Gordon The Big Engine or really not even the mallard...and i thought flying scottman was faster
My boi 👌🏻
Magnificent trains reminding us of a time when travelling by train was all about exquisite engineering, raw power and romance

yey, no added music; finally.
Absolutely, the music is the engines themselves, which is a major part of the thrill.
@@malcolmabram2957 yeah. Especially when they go chuff choo
Id rather the music
Some of the finest preserved steam action footage I've ever had the pleasure to observe. Well done.
When I was a small boy, such sights were an everyday event and with my then small child inexperience I thought they would be around forever. Thanks to those that cared, many still are.
6:45 - Glorious.
Brilliant. I love a country who takes pride in its heritage.
Heritage ? It's just some videos of a few of the trains they have in England they use to get about with.
Yeah ? But unlike other countries we preserved our steam locos which now play a part in our tourism trade, where steam trains take passengers on daily trips around the country ! All countries have a heritage, whether it's cars, motorbikes, marine vessels or aviation etc etc. We just happen to take pride as the above comment states.
I recon Mr Beeching would disagree with you there..

We invited British engineers in the 19th century and laid a railroad. We also imported small small locomotives and passenger cars like match box from the UK. After that 150 years, the UK bought a high - speed train made by Hitachi, Japan.
It is for granted that our bullet train runs in Japan. Hitachi runs in the UK, is the greatest pride. Ladies and gentlemen, Thank you for your guidance so far.
I just think its Heaven to see these fine Machines roaring down the track at such high speed next to modern fast speed lines too.And the way your country has really kept them sparking clean and refurbished so beautifull. We in the usa take great care of ours, but you have the fastest steam locomotives around and thats what interest me.Thanks
N.E.Arkansas Trash Trucks&Lottery What a comentary m8 .... u deserb a like! totally agree with you
Thanks
N.E.Arkansas Trash Trucks&Lottery no problem :)
I sure enjoy these fine fast machines
The real problem is the American Railroads scrapped their high-speed steam before preservation groups could really get any traction.
I'm sure a Milwaukee Road F7 or A class locomotive, or maybe a NYCRR J3-a would be stiff competition for a British streamliner. But we'll never know...
I would move to Britain just for the steam locomotives
I suggest going to the national railway muesuem! Amazing and famous loco's there.

I’m going in two weeks I live in britan
8:13 was tanking it 😂😂😂
Jesus that’s fast
Sounds the best, too
As a kid I was always interested in aircraft, still am. But having watched YT for years, I have found these rail beasts just so incredibly impressive. To be speeding and on the footplate must be one hell of an experience for any man. The last train must have been doing 70/80 mph! Nerves of steel needed! Many thanks for sharing your experiences.
As a fellow railway enthusiast from India who is more emotionally attached to diesel locomotives and these steams, this video provides me a lot of happiness. Will have to visit UK for these beauties sometime in the future!
I love the fact that most/if not all drivers either notice the camera and wave or blow the whistle, such nice people!
Thomas and friends spotted in one video.... Thanks for this.....
6:44...wow! Gorgeous!
10:23-11:20 My most favourite part of the entire video! I love that low, rumbling noise of 2 steam locomotives roaring down the gradient but a steam loco speeding past a station at night and whistling is 10 times better, whether streamlined or not.
I just love the LNER A4 Pacifics!!
Superb, it's good to see that the era of steam locomotives is here to stay.
Those old steamers in action is a gem to witness
For some reason steam engine don't even feel like objects, they feel like normal human beings.... This is why love them
Love the rapid "chuguchuguchuguchuguchugu" noise they make as they thunder past
Hi, a lot of time and effort has gone into getting these shots, time well spent, my favorite shot is at 14:44. Thanks for posting .... Tim.
Timsvideochannel1 Thanks, a lot of travelling was involved, along, with some early starts. But it was all worth it, in the end. Regards, Liam

Elegant machines, from a more civilized age.
Nah...more like slave owning monopolistic shitheads with no regard for their surroundings whose mistakes are still haunting us even today...
More civilized age?
OK Boomer.

smh124 Uhhh these machines were all built after slavery ended dawg lol
@@smh1245 he’s probably talking about normal people.... not the 0.01% who owned slaves.
My Gosh! At 6.40,coming around the sweeping bend into a totally empty station is magic. Going like the clappers. What a treat !
Great compilation, great quality too !! Thanks for sharing.
I must have missed this when it came out. Fantastic compilation!
Oh,how much I like these trains,I used to live in such locos but I cannot realized if it is about 142,235, 150 types. Grand merci.
Really neat. Thank you for showing us.
Brilliant piece of work.Thankyou.
I love the 2.09 one, the way it appears tanking around the bend and tiling.Thank you for this wonderful video
at 0325 and 0645 the speeding giants were awesome...each one special in own way and the inimitable spewing of smoke and steam...Thank you Marsh Steam, we look to more additions

Marsh Videos: This is a very nice film. I thoroughly enjoyed this. The trains, the scenes, the sounds, parting shot, the compilation is great! Thank you for sharing.

16.04 Charging through the station on a curve. Best of a fantastic series of shots. Marvellous camera work.
They've still got it - some of these locomotives have been put into pasture for years, but they haven't lost their charm.
Awesome video! Love all those steamers at speed!
I'm living in Argentina, and in the past, the argentine railways were build for british enterprises. And, when i watch this movies, I almost see the past of my railroads. All the British infrastructure is present in the Argentine railways. I have many memories of them
Superb compilation of mainline steam in action. Thoroughly enjoyable. Regards, Dave.
***** Many thanks, Dave. Glad you like it. Regards, liam
Childhood memories come flooding back seeing this, those great days
Love those whistle sounds ❤
And that ladies and gentlemen. Is how clouds are made

Great video, nicely put together. Thanks for posting.

Even though I've been a subscriber for awhile, I missed these when they first came out. Both are terrific!
Every Saturday evening before dinner, my best friend and I sit at the computer, here in Illinois, with our vodka cocktails enjoying one of your steam videos. We marvel at the design and engineering craftsmanship and the raw power of these magnificent machines. Of course, we also enjoy seeing that the Pullman cars, made here in Illinois, were also built well enough to still be in service. Thanks for all the work you do on all your steam videos.
Lovely to hear Grayslady, no doubt the Vodka cocktails wen't down well. Regards, Liam
Sorry to disillusion you grayslady - UK has built its own pullman cars since 1910. Most that are still in mainline service were built in Birmingham (UK) or Derby (UK) See link for attached list. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Preserved_British_Pullman_carriages

Beautiful.
Excellent fun - nice to see these locos at speed rather than the sedate pace of preserved lines. Thanks for posting.
+Gregor Samsa Glad you enjoyed it. I'm hoping to put together another compilation later on in the year.
These moving parts are so satisfying 😅
1:25 that was a bit dangerous shake at the intersection though.

Absolute epic
Great video especially the double heading sections!!
Such majesty!!
Superb! Those 16 minutes went by so quickly...
Yes they sure did ! Hopefully my next compilation will be a bit longer but equally faster !
Awesome shots bring back great lineside memories of my youth. Dodgy old track in some of the shots made the locos buck and rock. Great to see the fives giving their all.
***** Thanks, was a favourite moment of mine, with the Fives at speed.
The big GW 4-6-0s were bucking all over the place!!! No wonder the other three of the Big Four used Pacific power - the trailing trucks were a great asset... (Sorry for late reply BTW).
marsvltor2 : The Kings had a special design of front bogie using coil and leaf springs which I believe tempered a lot of the bucking at speed.
The 'joggled' front bogie design was to enable Collett to put the largest diameter inner cylinders into the design, which meant that the leading bogie axlebox had to be of an outside design. In their early days this bogie frames had an habit of misbehaving, too...
Chuffing magnificent....Penrith is the place that big old curve
grazie di cuore per questo super fantastico video molto bello un saluto caro giuseppe
The Scots guardsman looks like its going to break the sound barrier. Yet further incredible footage.
Steam Locomotive !Greatest !,Amazed !, I'm from Indonesia!

Very good combo. I love the site of these beasties and the sounds too. Especially when the coaches trundle along . Modern stuff have nothing on these machines . Thanks for showing this video. Keep up the good work

Make steam great again.
I remember standing on the overhead bridge at Toronto NSW as a kid and copping a faceful of steam as the loco passed under. Lovely memories.
