I managed to get a Talon with LTI. As of 3.23, it's one of my favorite light fighters
I love the cinematic shots you got in this video. Thanks for getting all the stats for us! I think the Talon is a great ship, it makes it very interesting with the cameras being the “windshield”. The HP is what really sells me on the ship.

What this ship needs is a bigger capacitor pool. It has 10k, same as a gladius meaning that 2 s4 laser weapons will do the same DPS as 3 s3 weapons. If it had 15k or even 20k(not likely) it would do way more sustained DPS with laser weapons due to having more shots. Ballistics though, does a lot of damage but, s4 ballistic cannons tend to have very slow projectile speeds, only good if you're good enough to land shots.
I was playing with a friend with this ship and they were diving down attacking a retaliator with the sun behind them… epic ship
Can just use F4 while sitting in the pilot seat to see outside the ship when the ship is off.
I really like this ship's looks.
The Talon has been my favourite ship since it's release, and even while it was at it's weakest point balance wise, I was more effective with it than with a top tier fighter.
Currently it is one of the best light fighters, and if you want the best combat ship with the best handling, you want the Talon. I'm not even talking about in atmosphere, where it blows every other fighter out of the water handling wise.
Regarding it's speed, it is a light fighter not an interceptor. Interceptors have high speed, and low turn rate/maneuvering. The Buccanner and Titan are examples of a interceptors. Interceptors excel at applying 3rd party damage, chasing down targets, escaping conflicts, and combat styles that incorperate jousing or extending.
Light figthers on the other hand, have the highest maneuvering and turn rate of all other fighters, and often prefer to get close to their target, and out position them.
The weapon vechicle team has designed ships to fall into a handling categroy, or be a hybrid of categories, a ship can't have the full maneuvering of a light fighter, and full speed of an interceptor at the same time.
Regarding it's 2 S4 guns, bigger guns do more now than they used to, so it has the same dps as a Gladius, and more than an Arrow. Not bad considering it has better handling and tank than both of those.
Regarding the low capacitor. It's a light fighter, it's something you need to get used to if you fly light figthters. The fact is is, the better you are at flying light fighters, the better you are at applying damage, which means even with low capactiors, you can still kill your targets fast.
No offense but it looked like you were missing a lot of shots. Partly because you were shooting from too far away, but also because there's a fundimental skill in SC dogfighting your missing called called roll aim. It's the first thing I recommend pilots to train who want to get better. If you look it up there should be plenty of videos, also there are many pvp discords which love training pilots, like the Avenger One discord.

Probably my favorite looking ship. Only downside is it's very wired for hit and run with those tiny capacitors unless you set it up with balistics.

Great to hear that you are doing better. Light fighters are def needing some love now with the scorpius and mid size ships have became stronger.
I just got a Talon for my "combat" ship. I took it out for my first attempt at real combat to the current XT and loved it. It is very nimble and even if it is slower the low EM and nimbleness of it allowed me to easily escape.
I do agree that the low capacity of the laser cannons is an issue. I am trying to figure out what to replace them with along with what yo do about my internals. I took all the 1A Stealth and got down to 4000.
i replaced them with revenants and they rip through like butter
@@euphoria608 just put a scatter distortion on it and kept the laser canon. Still testing to see if it works better.
If they design a larger bird-themed ship, it would look just like Big Bird. Oh and it could come with a snub fighter - Woodstock!
It's range is the problem. Everything else can be improved on with upgrades.

Throw some Omnisky or M5A on it, higher DPS (similar to Gladius) and higher alpha than the Gladius and great range.

Your vids are great and I agree with your opinion on 98% of the ships we have both tried. I personally would love you to add to your reviews or possibly its own video your opinion of the ships with meta weapons on it. I know “meta” is the flavor of the day/patch and it changes but that’s a good thing for a content creator right? I had bought the talon for strictly cosmetic and fun to fly reasons but I’m now going to see how it performs with 2 size 4 deadbolt’s, M6a and omniskys. Going to do the same with the defender as well and I bet more peeps would like to see that as well. Cheers

@@throdwobblermangrove6200 yes, that's is correct. Although I wonder what CIGs future plan is with platinum bay pads especially since they're doing the whole persistent personal hangars and freight elevators. I do believe Those pads will stay on outposts so it's an advantage like no other since it's the only ship of such class(other than the Orgin 125A) that can be spawned there.

Crazy to me, I was legit sitting here thinking about picking up this ship, open youtube and here's a quick review by you on the very ship I was thinking about... google is getting wild hahaha. I'm not typically one that is drawn to many of the alien ships yet to be honest, but I did the style of the talon, but for me it needs to be functional as well, not overly brittle, though I understand it is still a light fighter. The size 4's, while only having 2 of them, are quite intriguing though. I'm also not a big pvp'r but I dabble, I'd mostly use this just for fun pve bounties. Thanks for the quick once over! Cheers
Also keep in mind that the Talon is technically unfinished. Two missing features are the escape pod and the fuel intakes. Because the fuel intakes are missing your fuel disappears quite quickly compared to some others. As a Talon owner I would say go ahead and pick one up to wait on a rework. There are too many factors that do not make sense (slow speed stealth interceptor is ironic) - with incomplete features.
Wouldn't the larger version be the Prowler?

I saw someone rating this one S-tier for pvp! In general I prefer multicrew sturdier ships that can do ERT´s and carry cargo, but this little beauty is interesting!
I want to like the Talon, but aside from looks it really just doesn't do anything different from other light fighters. But I REALLY wish the Shrike did something more with a missile payload. Not just more missiles, but I think it'd be a good platform to have unguided rocket pods or something. Because the Firebird being a viable competitor with the incredible selling point of "it can fire slightly more at one time" kinda goes to show how unloved missile gameplay currently is.

There are already wasteland of ship reviews out there, so, its about time SC-CC'ers started creating original content, what with some just sitting back and reading Verbatim from CIG's posts, to others outright pimping others hard work. Equally, the level of clickbait with Star Citizen CC is rife, possibly the worst of any game currently on YT.

Strange post - this isn't a channel where you find content read verbatim from CIG (unless required for context), or click bait titles. These are just good natured reviews mostly rooted in how the ships are now with a dose of healthy speculation here and there. It all in good fun, no need to be so negative.
