    I have a small, 40 gallon cube with an aquamaxx tech3 30mg hour ozone generator. I run it randomly and fit usually 30 minutes. Within that time, my water is crystal clear, the corals are all extended, etc. I believe if you run them a small amount, you will receive a very large benefit from them. I wouldn't advise running them 24 hours a day for sure. Oh and to add, I don't use an air dryer either because I welcome the less efficient output on such a small tank.

    I would love to see a comparison of Ozone vs Hydrogen peroxide. I tried dosing the peroxide in my tank to 1 ml to 10 gallons (3%) and saw pretty crazy similar clarity results and cleaning.

    • @ReefDudes
      @ReefDudes  Před 3 lety

      Yep! you can put it on a doser and get some decent benefits from it :)

  • @LightSearch
    @LightSearch Před 3 lety +1

    The oxydator does a similar job.
    That being said, I don't notice any difference when I forget to refill it.
    On the other hand, if I overdo it on the peroxide concentration, the anemones react immediately.

    • @ReefDudes
      @ReefDudes  Před 3 lety +1

      Are you dosing h2o2?

    • @LightSearch
      @LightSearch Před 3 lety +3

      @@ReefDudes That's one of the things the oxydator does.
      H2O2 reacts with the catalysts inside the container, it releases O2 and, as the gas builds up, it pushes H2O2 out.
      Part of this H2O2 then reacts with the ceramic pot in the same way and part is realeased to the tank.
      In my case for a 200 gallon tank, I use 2 catalysts and 250ml of 12% peroxide. Every 3 weeks I refill the container.

    Good video Deven.
    They also use ozone for well water treatment to solidify iron and magniz so it can be removed with a sediment filter.
    It has an added benefit of killing bacteria in the well water as it passes through the ozone treatment system.
    That's why I brought it up during your live stream 👍
    The only reason I discovered that is well water in our area has no measurable mineral content except very high iron, iron bacteria & a PH of 4.3
    So I was looking into filtration systems. And apparently even in those systems it requires a very small amount.

    • @ReefDudes
      @ReefDudes  Před 3 lety +1

      Its crazy to think that it can solidify iron! You learn something new every day! I 100% agree! you only need a little ozone for a lot of benefit :)

      @ReefDudes because it's improvise,less efficient with many flaws and issue,destroyed over time the skimmer and the components around,less seal from ozone leaks and ozone smell,need more attention and using more carbon around it to filter the ozone leftovers...
