    2000 4Runner previous owner here with the same engine! I did pretty much everything before I sold it and prices went crazy! Heads, timing belt, water pump kit, hoses, radiator, knock sensor harness, fuel injectors, OEM ICV, replaced all of the small coolant bypass hoses, oil cooler oring, OEM ball joints, new drive shaft, had Bilstein shocks in the rear with new coil springs, front old school SWAYAWAY coilovers with no leaks or rust. Interior was like new, I replaced the entire carpet minus the cargo area. The new owner took it to the Toyota dealer for an oil change and the techs wanted to buy it from him because it didn't need anything and ran perfect!

    Nice! I had a 2000 Tacoma TRD Off-Road access cab with the 3.4L V6 paired to a 5-speed manual until 2021. I had 326,491 miles on the odometer when the engine finally failed. I babied the hell out of my truck and always did the maintenance . She simply gave up the ghost.
    I upgraded to a 2021 Tundra TRD Pro and love this truck a ton. I wish you well and hope you can get more mileage than I did. Oh, I am a Florida boy so it had been in Florida its entire life.

      That is awesome! What caused the engine to fail? Thanks for sharing!

      @@Jaspreets-Garage The head gasket failed causing the engine to throw a rod. The engine was unrepairable at that point. I was ready for a bigger truck anyway by that point, and with the 2.5 gen Tundra on its last year I figured I better snag a 5.7L V8 before I could never buy one again. I have no regrets and absolutely love my 2021 Tundra. The only thing I wish it had was a six-speed manual transmission. Ironically, I sold the truck to a cousin of mine who put a rebuilt 3.4L V6 into it and is driving the truck now. If I remember correctly he got the engine out of a 4Runner of the same year that had been totaled out due to a rear-end accident.

    Looks just like the 2001 I had for 13 years. 350,000 miles also black TRD NEVER an issue. Then traded for 2015 TRD SPORT Long bed. 160,000 miles now. They just run forever.

    What color is the coolant? Nice truck considering its abuse.

    • @Jaspreets-Garage
      @Jaspreets-Garage  Před 8 měsíci

      The color is an orangish red, possibly rust in it. Needs a good flush which I’ll do soon

    • @windowsbythebay
      @windowsbythebay Před 7 měsíci +1

      Toyota coolant in these was red so that’s normal, make sure you use Toyota coolant which is the one I just mentioned , do not flush and replace with the green.

    You really picking a part an old truck every little dent ding old paint geez the odds of a truck to just make it 300k driven buy a great driver that maintenance was a priority. You should not say anything but I'm lucky as shit and not talk about what your going to do and get to it and show us what was rattling. For real dude stop being petty and get to work and make it yours and something your proud of
