I had a Monza 225 fitted a good few years ago. I loved it. My local scooter show said I should take it in theirs and get it ported to get even more out of it. The upshot of that was as well as being raped of mega bucks they completely wrecked my casings and ended up sealing all the air gaps with exhaust sealant. I had only just got back into scooters after a long lay off so didn’t have the bollox to challenge them over it. It eventually seized and the whole kit was destroyed. Had to start all over again. I could have cried. 😩😩. The shop is no longer operating. Lesson learnt.
Is the reed valve recessed into the inlet manifold? I have an earlier version which is. To give more frame clearance or allow you to use a packer to raise the reeds away from the inlet port.
Thoughts on the 3 fixings of the inlet manifold rather than the TS1 4 fixings albeit ones a pain in the arse as we know . Easy sealing or leak issues does one think ?
I do hope that tino’s kits have improved somewhat as the imola kits I got had poor castings with transfer port timings all over the place resulting in having too send it to a respectable tuner to sort it out.
@@TheSteelweasel hi Steve, the kit was just standard bolt on, 28 delly and bgm mk1 clubman( I know not the best pipe for using the imola) but wanted a wolf in sheep clothing 😉 anyway timing was set static 17’’ and the running in process was fine. After that when I started too push it on a bit that it holed a piston 😡 stripped it and sent it off too the tuner that I’ve used for many yrs.Turns out it had a very high compression head and right hand transfers was 5 degrees higher than the left hand side 😳anyway paid me monies on said tuning, piston n replate. Fitted it and boy did it fly afterwards.Most of my club use the super monza kits but never fitted as standard, they always get them dialled in by two great tuners, Replay n Mr Edmonds
Looks a nice bit of kit steve , i have a friend who is new to the scooter scene and is looking for a lambretta 225 kit to put on his GP , he has his mind set on an RT225 but im unable to advise him as i know nothing about the RT KITS , what would you recomend mate 👍

very little gained by tuning casings unless you weld up and go big , just matched is best .

3 BOLTS no problem if you use good sealant .

So how far out where the timings and what running problem did you have ?
