- With the introduction of E Bike racing riders are now facing a new challenge, timed uphill stages in an otherwise gravity oriented sport. Bosch have been a big supporter of this new hill climbing discipline, so they sent along ambassador Tracy Moseley to show Steve Jones how it's done on his favourite technical climbs 🤘

Would love to see more of Tracey and Steve, she's very eloquent with years of knowledge and the easy, non scripted chats were very enjoyable to watch.
PX
What an addition to the channel Tracy would be. 👍
the best episode i have seen in a while on this aspect of mtb.
Really enjoyed this episode Mr Jones, more like this please 👍
I loved this, Tracy is a machine!!
Can we see more with her please? Maybe Tracy do a climb and the presenters see how far off they are?
Tracy is an absolute encyclopedia of experience and clear thought. Bribe her richly to keep her on your channel.
Best show for ages. Could hill climbing be the next big thing? I think I need to go out and find some good hills!
Riding uphills as fast as you can is the next best along with challenging technical climbs. The future is here
Tracy Moseley what a legend and you Mr Jones your a legend too!😉 great show, Embn rocks🤘👊
Hell yeah 👍👍👍
Steve Jones always brings out the best in the people he interviews.
Awesome. Loved it. My kind of riding.
After years of my buddies watching downhill biking, they think that's all there is. Wrong!
Uphill is where it's at. Especially with an ebike.
A tip for correct gearing could be good too, specially working together other climbing techniques, motors give their optimal efficiency at certain rpm and gearing sometimes makes really the difference... anyway loved this video, hillclimbing in ebike is my passion and the approach to ebikes from Tracy should be an example for everyone, there's always a lot to learn even if you have been a world champion athlete ❤
This is a fantastic question. On the one hand, we know higher cadence gets better efficiency (more oomph from engine per oomph from rider plus less electrons used). BUT... then there’s the issue of keeping the peddles away from rock strikes where more cadence increases risk at a given skill level. I guess the answer will be a "bit of both" as guided by conditions.
I’m used to play with Tracey and her brother Ed when we were kids on the farm. Miss those days.
We need more riding tips from Tracy. She is brilliant.
This was by far one the best episodes I’ve seen. So informative and so interesting. My attention was pinpointed to every word she was saying. She was amazing to watch and listen to. A natural in front of the camera. You must have her on again. Great episode!!!
Thanks a lot - what a great video! Seeing a pro like Tracy testing all the things that effect uphill climbing is just sensational! 👍👍
When you dive deeper on YT (search her name) into her career, wow, what a sustained effort, and so genuine and humble. EMBN raising the bar again, bravo
Wow what a show. Great subject matter and great to see Tracy's champion making positive attitude shining through, wanting to find out what works best so she can improve even more.
Just a shame about the autofocus issues, you weren't using Lumix GH5's by any chance? Just like this episode, they're great cameras let down by poor autofocus :(
Brilliant episode! Thank you both.
Awesome video these are the tests that really get information out
Inspiring to watch! Tracy is a machine!
I've just bought my first emtb an orbea wild fs it's made hill climbing so much fun!
Steve great video, really informative. Tracy is an amazing athlete . I'm an emtb trail rider, but will now consider adding uphill climbing to my riding experience. Agree with others on here that Tracy would be a great presenter for EMBN.
Didn't think a lowered seatpost making such a difference. Hope I remember next time and not only use dropper in dh sections!
Love it planning to buy EMTB great guide video more power.
Awesome Video... I learned a lot... keep them coming
Awesome episode. More on this 👏
Love this show. Great seeing Tracey doing this with Steve one of my favorite experiments.
Awesome stuff
This was awesome! Thanks Tracy for being a GREAT SPORT & showing us how you stay the best in the world in this new sport of Biking! With this new info I can try theses tricks so I can pretend to ride like you :)
Wise words ! As a complete novice, its great to hear an eloquent & intelligent consideration of the issues from a top rider.... Makes me feel better about my own struggle to understand what works, and how technique and approach impacts the ride...! Not so keen on interval uphill training though...!
Would of been nice to see Tracy put a full time to see if she can beat the Time you did on the levo
Trade secret
Very good show. I usually have my seat not at full heightened not quite at the bottom of the travel I am finding that there is definitely a sweet spot as far as saddle height goes re the climb your on and the motor has defo thrown the spanner in the works! Good show thank you.
Very cool video, entertaining and helpful. Obrigado guys and gal
Over 100 episodes and this was my favourite
Great episode. Tracy you legend
So the obvious question is, what is Tracy's time on the 104 climb? Great video that was!
Great show ,more like that please 👏👏
Really great show. It’d be great to see a follow up to see how the techniques can be finessed for different conditions, surfaces and gradients 👍
Learned alot! ... Nice video!
I rarely ever comment on videos, but that was excellent. She’s a wealth of knowledge and I hope you have her on again. Keep up the great work!
Thanks for the kind words!
Great experiment
Great video guys. Great to hear Tracy talking up e-MTB, this is a discipline where a normal MTB simply can't compete. Plus how much more evidence do we need to prove e-MTB' s are not cheating.
Excellent. Sign her up!
Also, what about 29/29 vs mullet. I'm thinking about converting my Rail to a mullet set up. And of course the Treks have the flip chip in the rear rocker that modify the STA & BB height.
I ride full power, seat lower, sitting down on the most technical climbs i do on my Rocky Mountain. Learnt that from Steve when he kept beating Chris and making him look bad
Great more Tracy please
This episode was fab! It really goes into how ebikes perform and how to get the best from them. So from here on, spare me the drivel like the noise produced by motors and riding in your garden!!
Great video and super useful. Another aspect of climbing I think is rider weight. I m 87 kilo and ride with a friend who is around 60 kilos. He seems to climb steep hills best going slower with a higher cadence. For me that does not work. I need to go faster using a higher gear. If I try to ride like my lighter friend I end up losing traction on small obstacles. Of course it could just be he has more climbing skill than me, but it would be nice for you guys to do a video on this.
Would have been nice to see tracey do your power stage 104 but just great seeing trek emtb’s on the show
#1 thumbs up!
Next time I ride my eMTB and someone mentions "but you got a motor" like "you're cheating" I'm going to refer to this video. I've heard rumors our multiple national and world cup cyclocross champ Sven Neys was thinking of starting eMTB as well now that his professional cyclocross career "ended".
Would’ve liked to see a comparison between sat, low gear and high cadence or out of saddle, higher gear and low cadence.
Ripper episode. I’m firmly in the saddle down camp. Lower centre of gravity, more central on the bike and easier to move around on the bike to keep the whole package moving. I will even change the amount the saddle is down depending on the type of climb.
I've always wonder why I've got better balance on my motorcycle trial climbing the same steep slop! Maybe something that the EMTB designer should think of for next generations. For me bigger tyres, longer chain stay and more turbo delivery...
beast
Do they have weight classes in these comps? Weight will also affect the times.
I get lowering the tyre pressure on your rear tyre for this kind of uphill-specific challenge. But what is the thinking behind also lowering it on the front?
I think a better set-up could be low at the rear only. Any thoughts on this?
Could not see if they were clipped or not going up, still debating on what is best for a roady getting into E-MTB, but very good segment.
Tracy was clipped in, Steve on flats 👍
Try good grippy flat peddles and good sticky shoes like 510’s, solid but can get a foot down quick if you have to
What do you think about the Voodoo zobop e bike
I’m looking at holding a event in Devon, a little like a power stage for ebikes , wouldu guys be interested in taking part ?
I think it would be great if you had a king of the mountain style leader board for the bikes and the pro riders
They should have seperate classes for weight and motor size because there are so many different wattages and power levels on emtn bikes.
For me, climbing whit an Emtb is 60% of an Enduro session. my slogan is "come down from you can climb”
Hi! What was Tracy , trek mino link set at ? High or low ? Thanks ! Big fan to the Channel !!
Yes good question 👍
It was in the low bb/slack setting.
Did you see her recovery heart rate . Just after a climb , she was really puffing and a few seconds later back to normal .very fit i think
I would like to know the mount for Garmin she is using. Can you give the reference ? It is possible to buy for general public?
I didn’t see a Garmin. I do see a Bosch Kiox display
Does tracey ride with the bike limited to 15mph or does she ride with the limiter removed?
The seat doesn't have to be all the way or all the way down - how aout half way?
Like her tire Guage it's the best I have used topeak
Great video , can any one tell me what bars Tracy is running
They looked like Deity Black label full 800 wide
@@CarkeekW thank you , I took a screenshot and enlarge the picture trying to find a pair in stock is something else , looking for the brendan edition in orange, there’s pair in Slovakia 😂, thanks again for your reply 👍
Deity T-MO Enduro cut to 750
What a crackin gal Tracy is ......great vid Steve 👍
Shimano EP8 is the most powerful motor when it comes to accelaration. Period!
Na mate Rocky Mountain Powerplay is

@@jamesrichards481 thanks a lot!!
Seems that you should be using the same line on each attempt to be fair🤷♂️
There's some great joke openings here ...... Whoosh???
To all the ebike haters. Try one. And then tell me the truth about your experience. 99 percent will love them
They are very cute together, just saying
Please give me one mountain bike bro
With Yamaha, Result would have been better.
I think Tracey probably wax all you guys !
Its not the bike or the rider iam 68 with a cube bosch pro cx goes up anything gotta watch the gear or it will come over on you leg muscles i guess
That's cheating ain't it?
Is Tracy a man or a woman? The physical appearance, the voice, and the name, are all ambiguous
Rather than ask a stupid question, first look the person up on internet, she’s a World Champion!
